I want to write a civil war love story. I'm in need of a soldier and I plan on playing a witch. I'm thinking this one will have a bit of a time travel element to it for shits and giggles.

Just a suggestion since you are a going to be a witch why don't we start in Louisiana. During the Civil War there quite a few battles throughout the state trying to prevent goods from being shipped from the sea ports along the Gulf of Mexico. Louisiana is infamous for its bayous and voodoo. To make matters worse I could be a Union Soldier who is occupying a Union held town. So we start out as being enemies or highly disliking each other but it turns into a love hate thing where the hate part of it slowly declines

So we're talking New Orleans if you're good with that and I can open us an OOC so that we can drop in CSs and this information and then start?

You're going to know history MUCH better than me... keep me straight, okay? :)

Lovely. You wanna start this story out for us with a bit of history as to whats happening and I'll jump in right after you to paint the scene with the colors of New Orleans?

OK Sorry It's been crazy but I'm back here for now :)

I'm using the Civil War setting but taking liberty with some of the events. I'm going to give a short version here and allude to alot of this in my IC post.

1864
1 Year before the surrender of Lee at Appomattox Court House. General Grant has been made commander of US forces and General Sherman is beginning his march south towards Atlanta. A small group of infantry and Cavalry have been sent to New Orleans to control the sea port. Goods to the Confederate army have been confiscated at the docks and rationed out to the local civilians. There is alot of civil unrest, some civilians are upset about the Union's occupation while others are trying to capitalize on it. Most of the money being made in New Orleans is at the bars and brothels in the French Quarter.
