Magi-Talent: Material Sampling: Darius can select a set amount of physical material or concepts behind things like fire and electricity and manipulate it within a 20 foot radius around himself. If what he is manipulating leaves that radius, it will revert to the natural properties that it would normally have. While physical material is sampled, its shape and molecular structure can be changed. When a concept is sampled however, the complexity of the concept and how well it is understood determines how much he can control. Both will move about according to Darius’s will. In fact, moving material and concepts is like using a metaphorical limb for Darius. At first, moving material and concepts around took a lot of mana, but with continued practice it takes less mana to move the same amount of stuff, letting Darius use the talent longer. However, Darius can’t sample more then one concept at a time and he can’t sample any living creatures. The only exceptions to this are plant life and as a side effect of the talent, himself. Though he does feel pain while doing so.Habits/ticks/quirks (etc):- Hums a tune as he travels.
- Will sometimes chew on an object out of boredom.
- May mimic animal sounds.
Skills/Talents/etc.:- Observant: With a bit of curiosity at his side, Darius is quick to pick up on others patterns and notice nearby objects.
- Parkour: Often bored, Darius would climb on and jump off of things nearby. He quickly learned to use the environment to his advantage when getting around.
- Instinct: Unlike many others in his hometown, Darius chose to trust his instincts and has learned to listen to them, since he isn’t as tough as others.
- Self-Taught: Always interested in fighting, Darius has practiced mimicking fighting types, along with improving his reflexes. He does this both for fun and as a safety measure since he left home.
Likes:- Listening to music.
- Making things.
- Learning new concepts.
- Helping others.
Dislikes:- Hearing people complain about something stupid.
- The cold.
- Getting up early.
Personality:Kinda naive, Darius tries to give people the benefit of the doubt, human or magi, and will be polite to them until they prove to him otherwise. But that doesn’t mean he’ll let himself be taken advantage of. He understands how twisted people can be, and keeps to himself when in large crowds or cities. He also tries to hide the fact that he is a magi, as he doesn’t like the prejudice that goes along with it. He does enjoy helping others and, if necessary, will try to use his powers subtlety when doing so.
Bio/History:Born in a small steam powered city, Darius was basically your average person. Got good grades, dreamed of going on adventures, and so on. Except for the fact that he didn’t understand why everyone hated magi. He just couldn’t agree with anyone else, even his parents, who refused to talk about his ancestors. It didn’t help that he was a bit weird compared to everyone else, but he learned to deal with it.
At least, until he realized he himself was a magi. He discovered it when running along one of the main pipelines that weaved its way through town. Having lost his balance when a nearby loose pipe burst, he reached out pulled a part of a nearby ledge underneath him. Realizing what had just happened, he told no one and kept it to himself.
A few years later, he left home so that he could keep his talent secret and maybe improve relations between human and magi. With a good education behind him and a kind heart, he’s hoping to figure out a few things. He hopes to return someday.
Equipment/Tools/Items/etc.:- A few throwing knives.
- A travel pack with food and sleeping gear inside.
- A necklace that’s been passed down on his father’s side.
Other:When selecting a sample material, he has to raise his palm towards it. He can use his talent to trap and batter his foes, but prefers using his reflexes, throwing knives, and what little skill he has in hand to hand to fight. But, unlike the others from his town, Darius won't go down without a fight.
