Barker Village's Captain Of The Guard

Name: Babeo 'Babs' McCallister

Backstory: The 'Red Roadblock' was an unnofficial name given to Babs McCallister and her convoy crew. She was known for always getting her deliveries on site and on time and was seen in the local village of Barker as a Heroine. She is the granddaughter of the Village Elder Mort McCallister and carries the legacy of her village in her name. She is fiercly untrusting of any outsiders, most Freelanders are resentful towards the big 3 nations but Babs doesnt even trust neighbouring villages. Mostly because there is a large source of Elementum hidden in the hills of her village that only her and the village leaders know about but she is constantly preparing to have to fight to protect it.

Using what little wealth she has, she managed to upgrade her Gundacker Mech (which was passed down by her late father) into a deadly fighting machine. The village of Barker might be small, but every town within 150 miles knows better than to come wondering into the vicinity without an invitiation. Babs has succesfully defended her village from 23 bandit mechs and 2 mercernaries since she became captain of the guard and has become more infamous with every fight.

After the last two mercernaries attacked she became interested to know who hired them and if this had anything to do with the elementum in the village. With that, her grandfather sent her off to investiage the outcast guild to learn as much as she can.

Tactical Preference & Skills: Babeo is a rough and ready frontline fighter, she likes to charge in with her shield up and close the distance so she can pulverise enimies with her fast tackles and swift melee attacks. She is adept at using her shield defensively and offensively.

XL Custom Tunguskan Battle Shield
This brilliant piece of hardware is a nightmare for those no familar with close range mech combat and still troubling for those who are. The very large shield can shift forms from the more circular spread out defesnive knights shield form to the more angular and sharp diamond form. The front of the shield is fitted with a powerful electro magnet which is able to literally draw melee attacks to the shield and absolutely handicap regular metal mechs in a close up fight.

Hand Slot 2:
'Jameson' Series 200 Bladed Rail Rifle
This large weapon is a marvel of the Jameson line of mech weapons which was developed in the Therux State during the western wars. The rail rifle fires fully automatic rounds like an assulalt rifle but the design of the gun is that of a broad double edge sword which can be used for deady close combat. The edges thinly sharpened Elementum fused titanium which is sharp enough to slice through the armor of many light and weaker mechs.

Garret 2202 'Buckbanger' Shotgun
The Buckbanger is very similar in design to the sawn off shotgun that Babs like to carry around with her, its mainly used as a surprise tool, a devastating close up shot can tear armor to shread with it heavy impact and wide spread.

Nothing too fancy just what it says on the tin, the gundacker models come with a limited supply of inhouse brand homing missiles that are built into the backpod of the mech, best used at mid range distance.

Babs is a skilled mechanic, and although its not her primary role in battle she can administor minor repairs to other mechs and structures if needed.

Portable Cover Block
An Expandable box made of very tough polydiamond material that can be deployed as a 'chest high wall' to take cover behind. Once deployed though, it takes a good while to fold back up for re-use.

There are only three words that could describe Alexi Krackov's life ever since she left home:

RIP, STAB, TEAR!

A fanatical, ruthless merc with a disturbing love for close combat, both in and out of a mech. She's an odd one to say the least. A mercenary soldier of fortune, she began piloting at a young age, living the unexpected peaceful childhood. Her parents believed in the principles of cooperation and using reason and discussion, not violence, to solve disputes. They lived among a communal settlement and enjoyed a tough, but quiet life in the Fortune Lands, forging their own legacy among the relatively unexplored, uninhabited lands.

Now, this is probably where your expecting the big turning point, the fucked up thing that messed Alexi up so bad to make her a nearly psychotic killing machine. Well, you'd be all wrong and a bag of crisps! In fact, her parents are still enjoying that quiet, peaceful life, running a farm and enjoying some good ole country living!

You see, Alexi was fucked up from the very beginning, and nobody really knew why. She had a pension for violence, a talent for murder, and always, ALWAYS, got up from a punch. For the more religious, she may even be a demon, but for the more scientifically literate, she's got a strange, unusual personality in a very mortal body. That idealistic life she was forced to endure only suffocated, suppressed that murderous, gleeful energy she had. It's this strange combination of rage and happiness she feels when she's tearing through her enemies, one at a time, or all at a time.

Now, what made her valuable wasn't exactly this nearly literal bloodthirsty rage. No, what made her valuable was the stories that style of brutal combat generated. Alexi is no dumb ass, and thus is probably responsible for a good amount of the embellished stories that floated around her, because she saw the value in being the meanest, baddest motherfucker around. Not only did potential customers want you for it, she found they would specifically pay her NOT to attack them.

Genius. Pure, greedy genius. She doesn't even need to lift a finger, and get's PAYED FOR IT. Like, FUCK MAN. That's not fair!

Now, shockingly, she's taking a break from the big time jobs of waging wars, slaughtering enemies (combatants optional!), and generally being a bitch to some more easy money jobs. Cause even a murderous psycho needs a break once in awhile..... apparently... But really, she's resting from taking a literal bullet to the head and surviving. A bullet she put there. A milita group had finally destroyed her mech and cornered her during her ejection and escape. After taking heavy casualties, they finally were about to put her down like the mad dog they said she was. To give them no satisfaction, she promptly shot herself upon their arrival. Thinking she was dead, they left her to rot.

Fortunately for her, there were more than a few businesses that counted on her ruthless policy, and recovered the mech pilot to find she was still very much alive, with just a bit of brain damage. Some favors, basic supplementary augmentations, and a lot of physical/......"mental" therapy and she was back to old self! Well, with more metal in her than before, but details, details!

SHE STABS YOU IN THE FACE! OVER AND OVER AGAIN! UNTIL YOUR FACE STOPS RESEMBLING A FACE!

No, but really, she likes to keep things close and personal, using a variety of close range weaponry and, of course, that iconic blade of hers on her Mech. She utilizes the rugged, well armored design of her mech to absorb what damage she needs to and close the distance fast. However, while that is her preferred method, whatever get's the job done, she does it. She had a decent amount of skill in most fields, but only truly shines in CQC. Keep in mind though, just because she wants to go mono to mono with you, don't expect the concept of "honor" to even enter the same galaxy as her. She will fight with a level of precision and brutality that most people would not be used to.

So sure, plenty of stories surrounding her are just exaggerations, but there is some merit to her brutal effectiveness that built the foundation of those rumors. Do not fuck with her within close range.

Oh yeah, and if your a sniper, you have a nice, juicy target on your head. Alexi takes a particularly sick joy in killing snipers. God does she hate snipers.

Hand Slot 1:
Heavy Longsword Melee type Combat Weapon
Designed for cutting and smashing through armored targets, can split a tank in to and impale anything that doesn't have very heavy armor. Even then, pilots have been known to simply smash heavily armored targets with the blunt force of the blade, dealing damage to internal components and dazing enemy pilots.

Hand Slot 2:
Arm mounted Automatic Shotgun
Can fire massive shot rounds or heavy hitting slugs, depending on the needs of the pilot.

Sub Weapon Slot:
A backup blade and an explosive "grenade" type weapon.

Shoulder/Back Spot:
Swarm Missile Launcher
Fires a massive amount of small, 20mm missiles. Used to great affect against many light targets, allows the destruction of large groups of infantry, even when the soldiers are spread out. Is also used against enemy Mechs with countermeasures as a means to overwhelm a combatant's countermeasures with numbers alone. While incapable of doing serious damage to heavily armored targets, they can, at least, harass a well armored enemy.

Gadget Slot:
Wing Mounted Quick Boosters
These boosters allow for very quick and sudden bursts of speed, which allow the pilot to drastically close distances in very short amounts of time. This also enhances mobility in other ways, as it can give pilots the advantage of higher jumps or more varied manuvers. You can guess what Alexi uses this for.

Swarm Flares
Fires of a quick burst of intense flares in all directions to confuse guided munitions.

Nicknamed "hunchbacks" by Frontier soldiers, the Revelation Type Heavy Assaulter is one of the most feared adversaries on the battlefield, usually piloted by the more fanatical, skilled soldiers of the Hylo Empire. Due to their brutality and tendency to engage in close combat, they are feared more than their superheavy variants, which tend to deliver firepower from long distances.

Despite their leanings on heavier armor, they are surprisingly agile and capable of moving at blinding speeds by using their wing mounted quick-boosters. Aside from delivering wrecking blows in melee combat, their strength allows them to use a considerable array of heavy weapons, including high-capacity rocket/grenade launchers, anti-materiel rifles, automatic shotguns, heavy machineguns, and perhaps the most notorious of all - the heavy incinerator. Heavy Assaulters assigned to unconventional units have been spotted using non-standard weapons, such as large-bore handguns, dual submachineguns, and melee weapons such as maces, hammers, swords, polearms, and axes.

All Heavy Assaulters come equipped with wrist mounted weapons, which consist of machineguns, shotguns, or pile bunkers. Optional weapons include shoulder or back-mounted missile launchers and large bore cannons, though such accessories are avoided by assaulters that prefer to fight at close range, due to their added bulk and the danger of using them at short distances.

@Skepic Excellent CS as always Captain, Ive noticed that all 3 of the female characters have sword and shotgun mechs.....

I love everything about her.

But 180 pounds at 5'7 would make her a very stocky build which doesnt really resemble the picture. Even as a well muscled soldier she'd be closer to 140-155.

Apart from that, everything is approved!

Name: Leonardo "Leon" Falco

Appearance

Origin: Second Generation citizen of the Fortune Region.

Backstory: Antonio Falco was Hyloan by blood, but lived in a swamp town in the Fortune Region. He worked as a technician, making repairs on the orbital solar farm that was in geosynchronous orbit over the continent. Being a spacer, Antonio was gone for huge lengths of time, and his son, Leonardo, grew up largely without his influence. It was dangerous work, thankless, and not terribly well paid. Leonardo was always told that his father was gone so that his community could have electricity. But if that were true, then why was power so expensive, so heavily rationed, in their town? It seemed paradoxical, that one of the men who worked so hard to maintain the power system, was woefully unable to actually pay for the service that he ensured.

Spending long stretches of time outside of Orio's atmosphere, Antonio was exposed to an unusual amount of radiation during the course of his job. He developed an aggressive form of cancer in his brain. The tumor might have had something to do with the last few decisions of his life, or maybe facing death awakened a recklessness he never acted on in life. Antonio risked the ire of Sol Industries, and indeed the nation of Hylo, to steal the mech that he flew for his work.

His intention was for his son, then a young adult, to sell it on the black market, later, when the heat had died down. But Leon had a broader view. He saw the mech not as a one time payoff, but as a means to many payoffs throughout his life. A mech is worth money, true, and a buyer can always be found. But a pilot is worth money too, and employers are equally easy to acquire. Leon had his father teach him to fly it before he died, and Leon went through the shadiest channels he could to find work. An employer saw value in the mech's ability to hover and fly, and helped Leon to equip it to poach solar energy being beamed down from the farms in orbit.

Sol Incorporated, a Hylo based company, owns one of the only solar farms over the entire Fortune Region. They therefore have a monopoly on the most efficient source of electricity in many of the Region's city-states. The station keeps track of how much power is beamed down from the space station, and the ground collecting station measures how much arrives. There is an acceptable margin of loss that SI will take accountability for, and this is where Leon works. He flies, high enough that he's difficult to see from the ground, and hovers in the microwave beam, skimming power until his reserve battery is full. He has to be careful to do this slowly enough that SI doesn't notice an increase in the loss margin. When his battery is full, he'll take his mech to some out of the way village or town and plug it into the power grid, selling the power at a markdown.

His mech is equipped with black market weapons at this point, and he has been known to take on more violent work in lean times. He is well known in underground circles as being trustworthy, if a bit stingy.

Tactical Preference & Skills: Prefers to keep a distance and use trickery and agility to keep one step ahead of opponents.

Mech

Name/Title: Sol Industries Orbital Mechanic Apparatus. "Sioma."

Body & Type: Humanoid Bipedal
Equipment & Armaments :

Hand Slot 1: Tools. It is still equipped with the tools of its intended trade, a series of tools folded into the mech's arms. They can be used to make repairs on machines, or even other mechs.

Hand Slot 2: Plasma cutter. The "blade" has a range of only inches, but it is on a longer shaft, allowing it to be used at a longer range than the tools in the other hand.

Sub Weapon Slot: A Sub Machine gun. It's actually an infantry-sized light machine gun, but on a mech it's a pretty small weapon. It is modified to be held easily by the Sioma's claw-like hands, and comes out of a compartment on the side when needed.

Shoulder/Back Spot: A pair of automatically loading 150 mm smoothbore guns, loaded with laser homing anti tank rounds. The guns in question do not have any independent movement or aiming, and simply fires whatever direction the Sioma is facing. It relies on the homing for fine tuning of its aim. This failing is a direct result the makeshift nature of the weapons. They have a total payload of 45 rounds.

Gadget Slot: Microwave receiver. A sophisticated mod allows the Sioma to commandeer the energy beamed down from orbital solar farms, to charge either it's own primary battery, or its rather large reserve battery.

Sensor Suite. It is similar to military grade, but instead of being a single cohesive unit built for combat, it's jury rigged from whatever parts Leon and whatever mechanics he employed could find. Typically, he uses it to find microwave beams to siphon power, but he also needs it to watch the ground while he's at work, in case hostile mecha are closing in on him.

Not at all originally built for combat, the Sioma was actually meant for space borne mechanics to work on large orbital installations, like the solar farms or various satellites. It features an impulse thruster for flight, meant for use in space, but adequate to get it off the ground and to rather high altitudes given time.

No but really, I'm gonna have fun with this character. Not gonna take it seriously for a second, just her fucking around and killing shit, regardless of what it is.

You can count on Alexi during those hard, moral choices, to be there to make the choice so you don't have to! WARNING! Side effects may include lots and lots of PTSD of innocent village being shredded by shotgun pellets the size of bowling balls.

Okay, so I have a question for all of the players here... If the inkling I have is correct, and I do believe that it may be, when the GM (possibly) has our little group of pilots at odds with one another, who do you think would be sided with whom?

To put the question into simpler terms (it couldn't get much simpler), you have Team 1, and you have Team 2. Who's gonna be on which team for the "dodge ball" game?
