I use 5th edition mostly, however I won't cut the rules as clear as some would between other editions.

Side note: Are favored class bonuses ever a thing in D&D?

Yep, DnD ability scores with a point buy. Don't worry about the guild roller for now.

I suppose some classes for particular feats and are usually associated with a particular ability score.

@MonstrousMan I'll go with it, but I personally usually prefer rolling stats. I feel it makes it more interesting, especially when things are less than ideal for me.
Edit: I think I'd like to play a Teifling Paladin with a glaive.

I'd imagine just normal D&D 5e character sheets.

Speaking of, instead of making a completely new hero can I just use Elena? I can make a new sheet and keep them separate. It would be Elena Preradovic II.

Your ability scores are all 8. You have 27 points to spend on each. pretty sure thats it. Just look of 5e point buy.

I'd take 1 point out of intelligence and pop it in wisdom. Both being 9 gives you the same stats as if they were both 8. May as well have one at 10.
