"As the shards of ice cut your face, blewn towards you by the stormy wind, you will wish you had stayed in the cozy comfort of the hybration chambers. Now that I think of it, it is probably warmer in there, than here in the wastelands."
I figured to keep hte IC text to a minimum, for purposes unknown to you. Anyhow, what is awakening you ask? Well, if you have read the first small little text, you could already guess.
The date is 2382. The average temperature all over the year is -25 Celsius. The world lies in grave danger. A total ecological diseaster. Humanity has fled underground, or seeks to survive the harsh conditions in the remins of ruined cities. Most places have been flooded, then frozen in ice, leaving supplies and tools unavaible. Back in 2082 an asteroid passed by earth. It was nearly as big as our moon, and it had an aenormous mass of around 0.4 Earth Mass. During the flyby, it hit our moon, and a smaller chunk separated and hit earth. The Earth, now moonles and flooded, was in grave danger. Most governements sent qualified people into bunkers, where they hibernated them, and set the timer for 300 years. They had hoped things will get better by then. They were wrong.
After the flood, famine came. Half of Earth's population died, and most cities were unusable. In a mere century, the enviroment changed, and fierce superstorsm began to ravage the remainings of the human race. The climate cooled down, as the meteor adjusted the orbit to move outwards. By 2100 7 billion people died, and most cites lied abandoned. Most of the survivors fled to underground shelters, or went into habitable cities to seek shelters. Australia, however remained the only habitable place on Earth. The climate changed it's temperature to be a cozy 10 Celsius all around the year, and with the weakened storms hitting he continent, there was much rainfall. In 2130 when a solid icebridge fromed between the isles between Asia and Australia, most people decided to makle the risky journey to the continent. Now the last governement standing is Australia, and there is around 300 million people living on the continent.
However our story is not set in Australia. We are a band of those Qualified to be hybernated, and we awake in Los Angeles, USA. The city flooded almost completely. Now I tell you what I want for this RP. 3-4 members who are cozy with the school or work schedule, and love post apocalyptic things as much as I do. Only apply if you KNOW you can be here for the next month or as long as the RP indeed keeps being interesting. All characters must have a skills that they are unique in. The skill that led them to be chosen as a member of the survivors hybernated. Also all characters must have a blooper that makes them bad at something. And not the average strong but dumb. For example my character is really good at cooking. However he always feared birds, so he/she can't really cook a bird. Or a blooper that would make them bad at OTHER activities(eg.: short sighted, slightly deaf, low blood pressure, small lungs etc.)
Here is the Character Sheet:

Survival Expert - In short drago is an outdoors man, he is capable of living completely free of electricity, man made buildings. This makes him good at building make shift shelters, making fires, making makeshift weapons, living outside of society norms.
Drago has what you might call a rather perplexing past which he has lived up until this point. Having no living family since he was a young baby his life as a child is an unknown variable. Drago's story that is known starts in or around when he was eighteen. Drago lived some of his adult life in the backwoods in Georgia, he was classified mostly as a nomad when people saw him, as Drago always had a love for living off the land instead of living a normal life that society considers comfortable. Always moving around from place to place Drago was always building himself make shift shelters from the land around him. Drago lived a simple life or at least thats the man that people around him saw, no one was aware and still to this day no one is aware that Drago was in actuality quite rich, the circumstances however like everything is unknown how this came to be. With his love of the outdoors being noticed a traveler on summer, Drago was offered a job that he could not refuse, helping to teach others how to live a life without modern day technology. After this point Drago began to travel the world to different locations, teaching different people how to live off the land if all else failed. At the same time Drago improved his own horizons, traveling to many different climates he learned how to live in almost any kind of area if it were to be snow or swamps or even water if it had to be. He taught himself much and learned even more making him one of the best knowledgeable men on the forefront of living without technology. Call it a twist of fate or good luck but it was this skill and knowledge that lead him into hibernation when the world was going into chaos. Believing that his ability to live in different climates would be most valuable he was chosen with a group of other candidates to go underground and reawaken after the world stabilized.
Drago is a massive people person, his appearance and attitude can sometimes come off as cold or uncaring at times but deep down he enjoys company and he enjoys being the light of the party. While he is very adapt at being independent he more often then not prefers company to loneliness. Intelligent and witty he is never at loss for a joke and is very world when it comes to knowledge. A great listener and even better with advice he has a joy for helping people. Optimistic and always one to look on the bright side its almost impossible to be depressed around him, he is quite warm and is a loyal trustworthy person to those who treat him right. Although like a coin Drago does have his duller points, he can be quite the hothead when it comes to someone he cares about being endangered, especially by stupidity of others. He is not one to just lay down and take abuse either, he has no problem getting in your face and will if you press him too far. Strong will by nature he does not quit and never knows when to give up, he will forge on until he can't no more and will never let himself fall to doubt.
Most people find this heavily contradicting for a man like Drago whom lives and breaths outdoor life but he is truly incapable of hunting with self made weapons. He can make you a spear, a bow and arrow, maybe even a pit trap, but he absolutely can not hunt animals of any kind with weapons made from wood and stone. He has to heavily rely on a bowie hunting knife which can really limit him in terms of animals. No one really knows why he is unable to hunt with weapons he makes from the items around him, but if you get the chance to test the theory it is like the circus coming to town early.
Nickname: Eve- honestly who would name their child Ester? it's 2055, get real.
Age: 27 (or 327 right?)
Appearance:
-Green eyes -Light blonde hair -a few tattoos from her 'hippie days' mostly flowers and other BS like that
Skills: medical technician- skilled at fixing up most injuries from scraped knees to broken bones. Heck she'd even know what medicines are best to use, even with the weirdo names they come up with now days.
Background: Ester was born in 2055 to her two loving parents Juno and Andrew Vernon. She was named after both her grandmothers (Ester and Renee) who, coincidentally both died by the time she was ten. Ester had not seen them often anyway, the majority of her extended family lived in the country sides of various state. Her, she lived in Downtown Chicago. The city of the century, boy they forgot to mention the smog and the horrid air quality. Whoever came up with the "city of the century" crap aught to have called it the city of smog every day, at least then there would be some truth in the name.
Before you can know Ester though, you aught to know her parents. Each was an only child. They both grew up in cities later moving to the country with their parents, before meeting each other in small town west Virginia. They fell in love instantly. Juno was a beautiful youth and aiming to be a model, Andrew was a handsome football player aiming for a spot in congress. They were two perfect jerks made for each other. They could fight for months and make up in one night. They were everyone's dream relationship. In 2055 they married due to Juno's unfortunate pregnancy and a father who was going to throw her out if she wasn't married by the time that baby came.
So, there was Ester, born with the name of two mom's who would have killed someone if their only grandchild wasn't named after them. Born with a mom and a dad who could scream at each other for days. Not that they didn't love her, boy they made a show of it at least. In fact in between completely ignoring her they almost made a game out of buying her more and more expensive things. They tried to out spoil her, it was ridiculous. It worked though, she was a brat all they way up until high school.
Private high school she met students just like her, bratty bimbos. She hated every one of them. Eve, as she now called herself, was absolutely finished with being like them. She took to vegan-ism and looked into all kinds of other religions seeking spiritual guidance. She trained her mind and body to be her idea of perfect, at least she wasn't a brat. This phase led her all the way up to her senior year when she decided to be a nurse, what better way to give back then to help heal people in their mortal body.
When med school started she dropped the vegan crap, it was really unhealthy and impractical and just like the rest of the stupid facade it got Eve no closer to her parents. Med school was tough and though she yearned for her parents attention, she didn't really have time for it anyway. Becoming a nurse practitioner took four years of her life, okay maybe five it was a rough start, but to be fair being medicine anything is hard! She made it though. in 2076 she was a registered nurse and started on her way to being the head nurse. By the time hell broke lose she had become a very accomplished head nurse and with nothing to lose and easily making the qualification she joined the hibernation.
Personality: As a child she was unbearably bratty, as a teen she was equally unbearably spiritual. Now she was just sour. Her parents never loved her and she tended to reflect that at other people. She just had no clue how to properly be what people wanted to see at all times. She usually comes off as tough and a tell it as it is kind of person. Deep inside she still misses her parents, even if they never did anything right.
Blooper: Though she is a nurse and knows its a bad habit she used to smoke, and if it becomes available she will do so again. She'd do the same with booze. Additionally she has asthma from growing up in such poor air quality often leaving her heaving for air or a coughing mess. Though hypocritical she does have enough sense to snap at anyone else practicing bad habits.
Skills: Ciel, while young, is a marksman like no other. With the right equipment, he can hit almost anything from impressive distances. While he favors the crossbow, he can use light rifles as well.
Background: Ciel was born to rich and highly overprotective parents. He essentially grew up in a plastic bubble, constantly shooed away from the outside world. For whatever reason, Ciel never learned to talk. His parents started to suspect something was wrong when he still hadn't said a single word at the age of three, so they sent him to several doctors and speech therapists to try and break him out of his silent shell, yet nothing worked. Other than that, however, Ciel seemed pretty normal for a kid who never really had much time to interact with the world. In spite of his asthma and several allergies, he kept himself in good physical shape. He took up archery at the age of seven when his aunt and uncle gave him a toy crossbow at the age of seven, and he soon moved on to real bows and even had some practice with guns (when his parents weren't around, of course). At the age of ten, he started sneaking out of the house more, exploring his town and trying to make friends despite his lack of ability to speak. He really broke away from his parent's idea that the outside world was too dangerous for a frail little rich kid like him. He started taking his shooting lessons more seriously, even winning a few competitions. Of course, when the asteroid hit, his parents jumped at the opportunity to protect their son by placing him in for hybernation. They intended to do so for themselves after they finished with a business venture they had going on, but they never got to, naturally, and now their son will wake up alone.
Personality: Ciel doesn't talk, ever. It's unknown whether or not he can at all or if there's really something wrong with his vocal cords. Despite this, he's not terribly shy, and is capable of communicating through sign language and writing. He's very intelligent and mature for his age, though he is dependent on others for basic survival needs. He is headstrong and hates to seem weak, even though physically speaking he is. He hides his inner sensitivities and insecurities behind a hard and guarded shell. It takes him a while to truly trust people, and he often holds doubts in his mind about even his closest friends. This may make socialization a bit more difficult, but in a situation like this it makes him safer in the long run. In general, he's very well held together for his age and is a loyal companion.
Blooper: The biggest one is his age. Ciel is small, weak and sickly. He's not a solo player by any means and needs to be cared for by others to survive. Think of him as a glass cannon. If he has the element of surprise, he's a valuable member of any team. If not, he can be quite the hinderance.
@Oliver Oooh, very interesting character to RP with. I have high hopes that you can use it well :D
Also, I'd prefer one last person, but if you guys want we can start already. We have the essentaials down and 4 people is enough to finish the RP(probably).

Hey guys. I think I might be taking a bit of a hiatus from the forums. Maybe for a month or something like that. Long story short, I just picked a fight with some VIP members of the boards, and over the last couple of days I've just been in a really bad way regarding my mental health. Keep in mind, I'm only thirteen so this shit is all pretty new to me, but I definitely think I need to cool down for a bit. I'll still be around for the rest of the day if anyone wants to talk.
@Oliver I jsut went through that lately with the forum too, so I get it m8. Cool off, youc an always join back to us as a random person we encounter on our ways. Take care.
Also, damn, you are a very self concious 13 year old haha
On a different note, here is my CS
Name: Jay Christoper
Nickname: Jay C
Age: 32
Appearance:
Skills: Craftmanship, Computers
Background: Jay was just like any normal children. He went to school, and played with the other children. That was until an accident when he was 7. He was hit by a car, and he fell in a coma for 2 months. When he woke up, his soical abilites faltered, and he had to learn to speak again. He went to a school that worked with disabled children. There the teachers noticed his amazing ability to build things out of LEGO bricks. It soon became clear that he had good skills for craftsmanship. After that his past time activities always included some crafting and tinkering.
When he was 12 he was introduced to the magical world of computers, by a fellow classmate. He took a keen interest in them and soon he was not only tinkering with wood and plastic, but with computers too. He very quickly learnt to program and by the age of 16 he made his first automatic hacking tool which could break into almost any computer system, and hack any wirelles passwords. It was then when international agencies started to pay attention to him, as he hacked into databases one-by-one. Not only that, his engineering talent led him to publish multiple new products on the internet, and better variants of some existing items. He was contacted when he was 25, but he refused the idea, with having no interest in being frozen. However when he was 30 he managed to get his hands on some data that predicted the event of the catastrophy, and he volunteered for the program. After 2 years of training he was put into the cryogenic coma.
Personality: He is a very quiet and calm person. He is a real genious, and can understand most things at an instant, but he struggles to express himself. His sentences are very straightforward because of this, and he often finds himself in situations he doesn't know how to deal with. However he is very kindhearted, and if possible, he tries to help out the few people who he accepts as a friend. But he is just misunderstood.
Blooper: Obviously his lack of charisma. Add to that, he has a slight Myopia (i let the doctor figure out what that is).
And posted the first IC post. (Btw this is a reboot, so I just copied haha)
Sorry guys, I'm having a bad day. I'm probably not actually leaving, just give me the night to think things over and then I'll let you know whether or not I'm still in.

Hey wesa understand :) bad days can really make you think you want to do something then the next day your ready to try again. Been there many a times, just let yourself relax and rest and give your mind a chance to destress. If you ever need an ear to chew feel free to vent to me in PM.
@The Architect One word my friend: Advanced. That is probably the place you truly belong to haha.
The Grammar Nazi's make me stay clear of Advanced Roleplay section haha they always nail me because I am terrible at perfect grammar. Im a good sport but when I made a forty thousand word biography for a roleplay with extreme detail I did not think I would get denied on nothing more then bad grammar xD
I know not everyone likes a book long post especially in free or casual but if I ever post too much too constantly bonk me on the head with a rubber chicken and tell me to trim out the fat lol. This is my opening post so I tend to go expansive and detailed, its sort of become a tradition with me, so the next posts will probably not be so long ^^
@Oliver Hello :) Roleplays can be called dead after 3 to 6 days of inactivity. Some roleplays have one 1 IC post ( from each player ) per week so it all matters on the GM (and number of players).
You should (when possible) to check how much time passed since the GM came back online. It just happened to me a few times this month...for the GM to either abandon the roleplay or for us ( the players ) to wait for a GM post (to continue the story) but none would come.
Okay! Sorry, I've been known to be really impatient. I've been sick and irritable all week so I have too much time on my hands for RP while everyone else has busy lives to live. @Ashevelendar
They both need to respond to something and as lnog as they don't we are pretty much dead weight. So you should find another RP for the meantime @Oliver. I would suggest a good few I run, but they all flopped just this week, so no can have that :P
