Monolith Graveyard

Player Limit: N/A.
Description: An ancient place, the Monolith Graveyard contains massive metallic structures composed of many metals such as iron, steel, copper, gold, and silver. There are a total of 500 Monoliths which are evenly spaced from one another. All Monoliths are 33 meters apart and stand at a height of 80 meters, making them truly impressive structures. The humming noise released by the Monoliths may have a variety of effects, but these effects depend on the combatants present as well as their intentions and alignment. The Monoliths tend to favor whomever is the weakest or most disadvantaged and will play to their strengths, attempting to even out the match-up through field advantage. In most cases of evenly matched opponents, the Monoliths' merely hum, and the sound produces no effect other than focusing the abilities and minds of those present to a minor degree.

The Graveyard is called as such due to a new Monolith appearing for every combatant who falls through contest within their bounds. The Monoliths are spread out in 250 rows and 250 columns. Each column is 3 meters from one side to the other, As a result the Graveyard is utterly massive and gains size for every fallen combatant. Currently it is 9000x9000 meters.

Adversaries always start 60 meters away from one another. While the pillars are not indestructible, the materials that make them up attract one another and so will return to their base form and levitate to their normal location when not manipulated by other energies. The ground of the arena is mostly level and is composed of reinforced stone. The floor conducts vibrations fairly well.

Unique Traits: The Monoliths constantly emit a faint humming noise. As the intensity of events around them raises so does the volume of the deep hum. Once the both combatants have unveiled their true power or the fight has reached a level of great intensity the monoliths begin to levitate above the rock formations that typically hold them down. The structures will move slowly from platform to platform.

Theme Of Stalking

The Monolith Graveyard was said to drive normal men mad with its unnaturual energy that hung in the atmosphere. The temprature felt all wrong, it was cold, but in a very thick and humid way, and there was no wind, not even a breeze, just stale air lightly covered by a small fog. There was also no sound, no traces of life, an empty unnerving realm of dread and isolation, Xing Yi could indeed imagine a weaker soul being driven to insanity. The place gave the living the feeling of what it was like to be undead.

Xing Yi's resolve was cast iron, no amount of unsettling enviroment was going to scare him, he spent 50 years in a chamber where time didn't move, and trained himself until he lost his sanity and then trained until he regained it, he had fought all manner of warriors and creatures in the Arena multiverse and this was just another chapter in his turbulent life. His body began to twitch, his clear mind was now disturbed by something....another life? A strong will, that of a competetior, a warrior's spirit. The air in the graveyard began to move ever so slightly, as another being now walked this plane. This being was far away but Xing could track him by following his life force. He summoned his Phoenix Rod and the magical item transformed into a longbow, he began to sprint stealthily towards his foe, closing the distance somewhat until he would be in range to fire. But not before sending a telepathic message.

Warrior, my name is Xing Yi, I am an Endless Monk and represent the otherwordly Shaolin, by entering this graveyard you have engaged me in combat, we will fight to the death, good luck to you.

He pulled out an arrow out of thin air and strung it too his bow, ready to fire at any moment.

"I'm going to see the world!"

It's been about 2 years since the start of Kriang Sak's Journey of Enlightenment and Experience. His master sent him off after his grueling training to see what the world offered for this young warrior. As expressed by his master, life is considered the best teacher. Spending many years isolated in a cave that tricked your senses, helping one to sharpen them, to not fully trust them, to gain a new ones, the young warrior came out a new man. Developing something like animal sense and hardening that iron will of his, there was no trace of fear in this man who embraced fear already in his training.

Walking along a path that sent him into The Monolith Graveyard, Kriang's curiosity and interest was piqued when coming upon these very large structures. The air was different and the place seemed dead, this almost felt like being back in the deepest part of the cave he lost his senses in but this didn't feel as bad as that. Casually walking through, Kriang stopped. his instinct taking over, making him feel he was not alone and possible killing intent involved. it was confirmed the moment he heard a voice in his head.

With this person presenting himself, Kriang Sak Smirked "Oh Karma.....the last person to speak to me like this was master. I must be in your domain...but...I accept your challenge, Endless Warrior. Kriang Sak....Thai Warrior of Yantra. I represent my Master Grand Abbott Chatchom and the former users of Yantra. Let's make this enjoyable as possible!!"

Kriang faced many challenges against other warriors during his journey but he had a feeling that this could be the great challenge he's been wait for. if he dies, this will be an honorable death. And no matter the outcome, he will embrace it. He stood at the ready for any surprises that comes his way, smiling as if this was a new game he was going to enjoy.

No Hesitation

Xing Yi smiled at the response, he layed still under a coat of gentle fog, not sure whether his opponent had spotted him, but was happy to hear his response, he would enjoy this bout indeed. Looking at the graveyard, apart from the structures it was a pretty standard battle area, visibility wasn't great but considering how close the fighting might end up being that shouldnt be an issue. Xing Yi breifly wondered if the large monolith structures could be used for anything but then quickly returned his mind to his opponent.

Okay Yantra Warrior, lets see what you can do!

Xing Yi let two arrows in succession hurtling towards his opponent from the cover of the fog, he was roughly 25 feet away. He began to string his third arrow after releasing the second, his pulse was racing, in complete anticipation over what would happen next.

The suspense was incredible. trembling with excitement, Kriang Sak thought about his last fight that didn't last very long against a larger opponent who usually just used his brute strength and on top of that, easily showed his weak points. He was not much of a challenge but with this atmosphere and this warrior, Kriang has yet to see, he hoped this fight would push him. He wanted to grow more, mature to a higher level.

Smirking from the Endless warrior's words, Kriang tried guessing where this warrior was located. he was ready alright, clenching his fists until...

As the arrows hurtled towards him, Kriang heard them coming from his 8 o' clock direction, spinning twice to his right to evade the first two attacks, getting an idea where this warrior was located. On nearly completing his second spin and realizing that this could turn into a long range fight, Kriang had something in mind to respond to that. Upon completing his spin, Kriang Sak brought his foot and leg up to kick in the air in the direction of Xing Yi but what happened next, he wanted to let the Endless warrior know that this was not going to be an easy fight.

Upon kicking, Kriang Sak harnessed the power of the twin dragons from his Yantra tattoo to release a white, ki projectile, capable of slicing objects from his leg and foot. The attack flew in the direction towards Xing Yi, where Kriang Sak estimated where the Endless warrior was located, hoping to draw him out or to help him see his movement or interrupt his attack before he'd choose the action of pursuing him outright.

Xing Yi watched as the Thai warrior seemed to dance around his two red projectiles and evade them smoothly but narrowly. His awareness, reflexes and overall form convinced the endless monk that this man was not normal, whatever martial arts training he had, obviously pushed his skills into the near supernatural. Xing Yi was now facing someone very similar to himself.

Unfortunately Xing Yi was not familar with the Muay Thai style of fighting and continued to string and fire his third arrow at the warrior without realising that the spinning kick was a form of counter attack, the big white blade of energy was totally unexpected and Xing Yi noticed it too late to avoid it fully.

In a desperate last minuite dodge the Monk managed to avoid any significant injury, but the projectile impacted near his shoulder, even with his protective magic robes, it still hurt quite a lot. With his third arrow still on it way to the target Xing Yi banished his phoenix weapon away for the moment and emerged from the fog in a speeding dash, making a circling approach the warrior's left flank.

Right after sending his own counter projectile, Kriang wondered what was going to come next. The young warrior had a thought for a moment that the color of those arrows were different...red....and seemed to disappear after impact. If he had to guess...this Endless warrior must've owned a special bow or something but he couldn't tell just yet.

Still not fully able to see him, Kriang heard the impact of his attack, making him smile, marveling over his own skill. That moment though, while having an arrogant expression on his face thinking his enemy may have been defeated, he noticed at the last second, another arrow coming which didn't give him time to dodge.

He had no choice, calling on the protection of the Yantra tat, he lifted his forearms up for the guard as his limbs changed color, that of a golden bronze, right before the arrow hit him. Upon taking the hit, Kriang effectively defended himself but the despite the defense and the protection from the tattoo, Kriang could feel the intense burning sensation on his arms, looking down at them as they sizzled.

"What the-....what kind of arrows...were they?" he said to himself confused and wondering if this was some kind of magic. Now was not the time to wonder about such things as he could hear movement, fast movement, turning to the sounds and catching sight from his left flank of the monk going at astonishing speed. Kriang got into fight stance and prepared to move about to potentially evade or go toe to toe with him. This monk looked young...and interesting looking man but he couldn't underestimate him. Kriang gave a large grin and dashed his way towards Xing Yi just so he wouldn't have to wait on the monk to make his move.

Xing Yi couldn't confirm damage but through his hearing he detected the impact of the third arrow hit something, although he was running too fast to identify where it struck. He was happy that the fight had seemed to be heating up and Xing Yi carried on speeding to the Warrior's left flank. The Monk's Azure Dragon beads began to glow brightly and white energy crackled through his right arm.

I was suprised you were able to launch a Ki blast, it was impressive, but this is the expert level version!

With his bold claim and still running in a circle he shot a fairly small but fast Ki blast at the warrior, aiming for his mid-section, immediatly beginning to cut his running angle straight afterwards to approach the left angle of the fighter's back his red pheonix transformed into Tonfa, ready for close range combat when he got there.

Smiling from the words of Xing Yi, he rushed towards the monk who claimed that he was going to show an expert version of a ki blast. That burning arrow from before was a surprise but it left Kriang wondering what else this guy could do? Rushing forth, he caught sight of a glow and instinctively stopped and prepared to get into defense as the fast chi energy shot towards the young warrior.

Kriang called forth the protection of the Yantra while crouching his torso and lifting his leg up to defend using his forearm and leg to cover his mid-section.

At the same time, he realized that Xing Yi was much closer now. This must be turning into a close quarters combat but he didn't know what was coming next, looking at the tonfa.

Kriang was ready to go on the offensive. He got into stance and rushed forward to go for a speedy three hit combo attempt using a right jab, left elbow strike and attempted frontal kick.

The Thai fighter's form was perfect, although Xing was not compleltey familair with the style he could see just based on the percision of his movements this man was an expert at what he does. The destructive energy of the monks ki blast crashed into the warrior but he was able to block it with some sort of defensive technique of his own. Before Xing could fully contemplate exactly how the technique worked the Thai Boxer cut off his flank with a dashing combo, his limbs blurred with every strike, this fighter was very quick.

Xing noticed the fighter leading with a jab, although not a boxer he knew to 'slip' the technique by ducking his head at an angle slightly while moving in closer, which me managed fairly easily. What Xing did not expect was the 2nd elbow strike as the move was almost unheard of in traditional Kung fu, the elbow hit flush against Xing Yi's face, cause him to grimace in pain and flinch to the left. The shot was fast but not too damaging. With his head lowered he saw the warrior's hips twisting to deliver a kick, which XIng anticipated , he stepped outside the trajectory of the front kick and launched a counter side kick towards the opponents mid section, hoping to create some distance.

In Kriang's mind, he felt Xing was in for a good surprise. Kriang's master told him the fact that there are other fighting styles out there that could rival his own. It was an interesting thought to see something totally different, capable of matching him. This was one of those cases. Kriang have faced a style of Wushu before but this was of another caliber.

When Kriang went for the 3 hit combo, Kriang went to follow Xing's movements as he noticed him slip his jab but the then being able to hit Xing flush in the face with his elbow, Kriang wondered if Xing even expected that? But, when he went for the kick, Kriang knew that he had about 4 more hits he wanted to add after the first combo.

The smirk on Kriang's face faded as he nearly frowned from the pain he felt in his midsection. What just happened? A moment when Kriang launched his kick, he swore that Xing was still there. When focusing a little harder, the pain he felt was a countering kick he took from the Monk, thanks to his swift movement to evade his attack and then deliver the kick the made Kriang stagger back. Not only was the counter fast and hard to detect but Kriang didn't even have time to use the Yantra protection, which left him vulnerable to that attack.

With his forearm to his midsection, Kriang now knew this guy was just as fast if not faster than himself. Kriang had to think of a next tactic. A smirk came upon his face as he had an idea. He changed stances. His usual Muay Thai stance shifted into that of a totally different fighting style. One that was not closed fist like Muay Thai but more open fist to use more swift movements. He was going to use Silat pattani.

Xing was relieved when his side kick landed, although his head was still throbbing from the stinging elbow, he was reassured that this man could be hit. He was just a human martial artist like Xing himself. He noticed the young man recoil into a new fighting stance, another which the endless monk did not recognise. But it didnt matter. Xing woulkd keep fighting and play it by ear if he had to.

The battle heats up!

Not giving the opponent to much time to think, Xing immediately followed up his attack with a front snap kick to his opponents face with his right leg and slashing with his 'tiger claw' kung fu stike with his left hand in a diagonal downward motion towards his opponents chest.

I think I have more styles than you, warrior.

Right after getting into his new stance, Kriang noticed that this was just going to get more intense seeing that Xing immediately started attacking and not giving Kriang a moment. Instinctively, Kriang say the moving of the Monk's hip move for a high kick to the face and weaved to the right og the Monk when at that swift moment, a noticeable tiger claw attack came down towards his chest diagonally but the swift movements of this other style Kriang used, it sort of looked similar to mantis style, using his right wrist to attempt connection to Xing's forearm for a block and right hand driving towards Xing's chest for an attempted palm pushing technique.

"Doesn't matter how many styles one has, It just depends on the skill and strategy one would use against the opponent....unless you just absolutely overwhelm someone with your physical might all together." He chuckles.

The intense Ki energy from the Thai warrior was almost overwhelming. His spirit was buurning white hot in the spirit of battle and Xing had to focus to not be distracted by it. Xing admired the young fighters footwork as he was able to pivot and get on the outside of Xing's front kick. As he brought his tiger claw down it impacted against his forearm and lost momentum as his attack was blocked. Xing grunted with fustration.

You are very quick, I'll give you that.

Now Kriang fired a palm strike counter attack, but after seeing where it was headed Xing smiled and tensed his body.

Iron Shirt!

Xing focused his energy into his chest to perform the legenday shaolin iron shirt technique which essentially made his torso as hard as thick metal and planted his feet to the floor to absorb the pushing motion. The palm thudded into him but did no damage this time.

To counter, Xing's tiger claw hand which had just been blocked by Kriangs forearm was now close enough to grab. He would attempt to snatch the wrist and turn it to the outside for an akido style hand throw to the ground.

If there was anyone Kriang would mention to his master when he returns to him, it would Xing for the fact that blow for blow and skill for skill, he matched Kriang and could possibly even surpass him. This situation proved to be when his strike that went towards Xing's chest was stopped when he heard Xing utter the word, 'Iron shirt'.

Kriang could feel the shooting sting in his palm and wrist as a wave of tingling sensation went through his forearm. The look on Kriang's face showed a little curiousness as to what just happened. His skin felt very hard. It was about as equivalent to his own Yantra protection.

After that moment, while wrapping his mind around what just happened, he could feel the his center of gravity shifting as he lost his footing and ended on his back. As he was on his back, it only took him a second to move after landing to try and go for a counter. With his arm held, Kriang started to maneuver himself to attempt an arm lock by wrapping his legs around Xing's arm to put him in submission.

"You're quite skilled. I have to admit, your skills are surprisingly exciting."

Xing Yi was excited to see that the throw worked, but the glee was short lived. Even off his back, the Thai fighter was ridiculously agile, its as if he was made of rubber, the way he bounced back into action and it was to slap on a flying armbar from the bottom. The technique and positioning wasn't perfect and normally Xing could have given himself enough room to pull himself out of it. But the problem was his iron shirt technique pinned his legs to the floor, and it didnt 'deactivate' immediately so he was not able to step out of position and the Armbar was locked in.

Very sneaky warrior, I clearly need to work on my grappling...urggh

The armbar was tight, and the warrior's body was a spring vicegrip, even with the minor protection of Xing's turtle robes, he could feel his arm being hyper extended and bent in the wrong direction, a few more seconds and it would break. Xing had to get desperate.

Channeling the energy from his beads with the accelration of the need for survival, Xing charged his trapped arm with Ki energy and with has hand so close to the Thai warrior's body he planned to fire off a short but powerful blast point blank range, it wouldnt need to be accurate.

And with his free hand he reached for his White Sabre sword, ready to swing it downwards toward his opponents torso if the Warrior managed to hang on.

Sadly....I need that arm, I'm not letting you leave with it!

All he needed to do was break a limb and he could turn the fight into his favor. With that advantage, this fight will end in no time but...then again...he would be upset if the Monk could be defeated in such a short period of time.

Indeed, it was not over yet when put in a predicament of choice. One, he could try and go for the break and hopefully cut him short from using his point blank ki attack or 2, let go and come up with another strategy. Feeling the charging of ki energy and seeing the Monk reaching for something with his other hand, Kriang gave a sigh but smiled as he quickly let go of his arm, rolling out the way and positioned himself to a kneel while reaching for his Naga's Bite saber to switch it up.

"You're a tough one..."

Xing let out a heavy sigh as his opponent finally let go of his arm, but it was sore from being extended, some damage had been done. Watching closely as his opponent drew his own weapon, but waited on standby instead of counter attacking immediately, Xing let loose a small Ki force attack at the Thai fighter, not strong enough to kill but enough to do some damage. The blue energy burst forward in a very fast fireball that was maybe a 3rd of the size of a man. While tenaciously gripping his saber he called out to his opponent.

You have been doing well, but now we have drawn swords you may have over extended your luck, I've never lost a swordfight.

After firing the ki blast he adopted a traditional shaolin sword stance, ready for combat.

After letting loose and drawing his saber, he noticed Xing didn't immediately attack wondering why he waited until then, he noticed the ki blast and a larger one this time around, rushing towards him. He couldn't counter it with his ki blast in time so he simply called on his protection to defend the attack which turned his skin into a bronze color but wasn't as strong this time. The blast hit him and he defended against it but it still stung on impact.

Kriang got into stance "Funny...I never lost in a sword fight either...let's just hope you keep a perfect record after this." he smirked.

Xi and his opponent were now in sword combat, the stakes had been raised as it was obvious that the Thai warrior's blade was of magic properties, just like his own. The longer he thought about what foriegn mystical energies the blade might possess the more intimidated he found himself, his non sword arm was still fairly sore from the armbar attempt and began to throb with annoying pain. Xi forced his shaolin discipline to focus him.

Worthy opponent, prepare to bleed!

Xi snapped forward with a darting thrust, keeping his toes light on the ground as his feet landed, ready to pivot or kick if needed.

Kriang smirked upon their blades baring in plain sight of one another. Kriang wondered was this it? Was he actually going to be simply defeated or killed? The anticipation left him trembling with excitement. This is what he trained so hard for. To find out if he truly was a worthy warrior of Yantra. Taking stance, his legs and body movement were fluid in motion and he got into defense looking at this magnificent monk he was fighting hard against. A bit sort in his midsection, Kriang welcomed whatever was to come next as he was going to go all out.

With the monk snapping forward, Kriang was going to see who would draw first blood. Moving forward, Kriang didn't launch off like Xi but he showed he was not going to be in full defense but to show he was no backing down either. Kriang started off the moment they got close with a short ducking motion with a testing thrust of his sword towards Xi's thigh but if he needed to shift to defend, that was not out of the question yet.
