Physical description of her human disguise: Rather slender, with curly hair and a small scar on her right cheek. Always wears a light blue dress, and has a green snake tattoo on her left shoulder, with no other body ornamentation. Wears wire-rimmed glasses.
Physical description of true form: Her skin is patterned much like so:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaboon_viper#/me.. and is scaly throughout. Her lower five feet are a serpentine tail, and she is human in shape above the waist. Her face is heavily wrinkled, and her hair consists of two dozen 18-inch long snakes with individual minds and personalities. These snakes can inject a venom similar to her own, although lesser in both dosage and toxicity. If she opens her mouth wide enough, one can see the two-inch fangs that normally fold up against the roof of her mouth.
Personality: Seph is very laid-back, with a rather relaxed view of the world. She prefers to talk things out without resorting to violence, but realizes that it may be necessary. Still, her ultimate goal is to cause the absolute minimum amount of mayhem needed to get the job done. When not on an investigation, she prefers more intellectual pursuits, and is in fact in the process of getting her degree in chemistry online. She also has a keen interest in magic, specifically in enchanting objects, and can be found assisting in arcane research on occasion.
Background: Gorgons are a very old race, and Seph can trace her own lineage back to the original Medusa herself. That said, being that she is fairly young herself, there isn't much to tell. She was born in Greece, but moved to Baylor at an early age. Middle-class background, used an enchanted amulet to fit in with her human classmates. Heard about the Syndicate two years ago, joined up, and got assigned as an agent. Her service record so far has been unremarkable, though.
Weapons: Seph carries a 9mm automatic pistol and a knife. Nothing special about either of them.
Skills: Chemical knowledge (comes with studying for her degree, helps out now and then in the evidence labs, negotiation (She's been noted as a very calm and smooth talker, sometimes defusing situations without bullets and spells flying ), expert pistol shot (A very good markswoman due to extra practice time. Useful in a firefight).
Powers: Gorgon Gaze- Seph's stare does have supernatural properties, though some of them have been exaggerated in the telling. First off, it's an active power; she has to actually
want to use it. Secondly, it requires direct, constant eye contact. It doesn't actually turn the victim to stone, merely paralyze them, and she can only use it on a single victim who's within five feet. She also can only hold the target for about five seconds, fellow supernaturals can resist, and it takes so much concentration that she can't use her venomous bite, though her snake hair can. Despite all that, it's still a very useful power.
Toxic Fangs: Seph can use her fangs to inject aa victim with a deadly neurotoxin that targets the victim's nerves, including those that control breathing and heartbeat. Her venom dose is so massive that paralysis sets in in about 30 seconds for a normal human, with death following from heart and lung failure in about 5 minutes. For supernaturals, effects could be delayed or nonexistent, depending upon physiology. Her snake hair has a similar venom, but effects take much longer to occur and fatalities are highly unlikely.
Fluent in Serpent: Seph can talk to snakes, but not control them, though she does have a degree of influence over the ones in her hair. As a couple of asides, she apparently has a thick viper accent, and she's heard all the Harry Potter jokes, which really annoy her.
Other- Seph wears a small silver amulet that disguises her as a human. Normal humans can't see through the illusion, but supernaturals can with the tiniest bit of effort.
