Hello and welcome to my Vault Buddha interest check. After replaying Fallout New Vegas over the timespan of.. well, maybe a day or two (ah, weekends, amazing) I've resparked my interest in the Fallout Universe. Primarily I find myself interested in Vaults, hence the name, but of course this wouldn't be Fallout if we didn't end up either in some crazy ass experiment that kills us, or escaping the vault. So if you find yourself interested in the same thing, keep reading, and otherwise, get the heck out my thread.
Standard info: I'm 20 year old and male. I can write female and male characters. I have no preference, but I am more experienced with writing males. I am in the GMT+1 timezone. I'm willing to write mature scenes if we can do it in a somewhat classy way that befits the RP. If you want to write about anything relating to 'putting the cawk into de pusi, b0ss' please write me out. I will typically prefer MxF or FxF romance, MxM if it makes sense. (Yes, I am straight as far as I know, so yes, MxM is unnatural to me. Not uncomfortable, just unnatural, and so, harder to write). Please have common sense. Please do not chase me endlessly if I stop posting. Please do not tell me endlessly about your personal life. If I care, I will ask.
Most importantly: be willing to work with me, think with me, come up with ideas of your own, and be assertive when it comes to the plot. I don't want to roleplay with a 'sub' that does as I say. And no, I'd prefer not to work with dom/sub roles (because a) they are stupid and misunderstood and b) I'm tired of 'sub' characters that are nothing more than sacks of flour that don't do anything. (Unless you write it well and make it understood why they are that way.)
Ideas
Alright, so lets get to the meat and potatoes. The thing is I hate when a plot is already too pre-defined, but I also noticed that plots that lack direction and a pre-defined plot often die. So the thing I'm going to do is I'm going to create ideas that you can possibly place down your character in. The background, etcetera, that would all be up to you (because I bloody hate when a person forces me to make my character like x or y). Or at least, I am going to try and do that.
So, unlike other Vaults, our characters were descendants of important people. Now, over the last two hundred years, nothing is really left of that except perhaps our surnames. Or perhaps your ancestors were a butler, mechanic, or other person brought into the vault out of necessity, not due to their importance. What is the significance of this? Well, nothing, except that we weren't used as a controlled test area. Rather we were meant to be the survival of the important people. Vault-tec personnel, rich people, government officials, etcetera.
But like so many other vaults, our water purifier chip failed, and that kinda sucks, ya know? So like some other vaults, we mounted an expedition into the wasteland. Radiation levels were bearable with the right equipment. RadAway, Rad-X, maybe a gasmask or so. So the two of us mounted an expedition to find a Vault and obtain a new chip, or otherwise if that proved to be impossible by now, bring back news of the Wasteland and hope to set up traderoutes and transform the vault into a shelter for the Vault Dwellers.
Setting: Either Fallout 3 or New Vegas. Pairing: Unimportant. MxF, FxF, MxM, doesn't matter. Plot point ideas: first contact with outside world, undertaking 'quests' (ah, yes, the pip boy lists personal goals as 'quests') to obtain information about water chip, pure survival and coming up with our own locations.
Possibly the most vague of my ideas. This one could relate to just the life inside of a vault. Now this would not be a vault meant for executives, rich people, or anything. It'd be a Vault that has an experiment in it. I'm not sure what and I'm not sure if it should be something like oh god everyone dies or if it's just something subtle and small. If it's large enough we can use it as a force to drive us out of the vault.
Setting: Either Fallout 3 or New Vegas, Fallout 4 if we stay inside the Vault. (Haha, can you tell I haven't played F4?) Pairing: Unimportant. MxF, FxF, MxM, doesn't matter. Plot point ideas: depends entirely on the experiment and our characters.
Ah, yes, this one would be golden, no? This could be a great many things. We will need to decide on a plot - what is driving our characters, what is binding them together? Are they friends, enemies? A forced alliance, a lapse of attention and a slave collar, or are they immediately friends? Who are our characters, etcetera. This can go any one direction and is rather open. Perhaps too open - but we will see. Setting: Either Fallout 3 or New Vegas. Fallout 4 if I can be the Vault Dweller (since I don't know shiiiit about that game.) Pairing: Unimportant. mxF, FxF, MxM, doesn't matter. Plot point ideas: As mentioned before; forced alliance, slavery, friendship, romance?, a return to the vault some years later, a quest of the wastelander, etcetera.
More could be added later. I don't know. I'm whimsical, yo.
