➻ IT BELONGS IN A MUSEUM !
INTRODUCTIONS
hello there! after playing a number of puzzle games and rewatching indiana jones and the crystal skull a la skype with my darling boyfriend, i have the neverending desire to do something similar to these themes, with a number of roles and themes that we can play on. while i have no confidence in playing any of the indiana jones canon characters, i would like to do something with ocs. be sure to check out either of the ideas below and see if there is anything that you would be interested in. out of respect, please do not select any ideas that have been slashed through and be sure to check my general rules if you are interested in roleplaying with me. thank you for your time!
PLOTLINE #001: THE ROOM
inspired by the events of the room and the room two: my character is a young scientist who has been gifted a puzzle box by someone who has only identified themselves by their initials. later on that week, in the depths of a historical library in the early morning, my character has unlocked the first puzzle box, bathing the study room in a brilliant white light. when the light dies down, it appears to them that they have been sent to another dimension where their only goal is discovering the true secret of the null. in this other dimension, however, there is only one other person: the person who unlocked the puzzle box before them, their predecessor to the box. together now, both student and teacher must escape the horrors of the room and the null before the darkness of knowledge captures them both.
PLOTLINE #002: LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE
inspired by the tomb raider concept art: your character is a strapping and intelligent young archaeologist who is known for their intensity in their work. they have been studying, for a while, an abandoned temple ruin in the thick jungles of central/south america; at this point, they believe the ruins to be olmec or mayan, and gather a small, elite survey team to see for themselves. at the temples, however, one of the younger members of his survey team lean against a well-made brick wall, triggering what appears to be one of many traps designed to dissuade tomb raiders from entering the pyramid. after escaping the booby trap, your character and their team find themselves trapped in the hidden temple. making camp inside the large temple for the night, they wake to find that their camp has grown by one: someone who is dressed in golds and cloths, with long elegant hair and no signs of aging has been living in the temple since the demise of their civilization and continues to protect the temple and dead. the question arises, however: who is this person? are they real?
PLOTLINE #003: HAVE I LED YOU ASTRAY?
inspired by the indiana jones films: one of our characters is a seasoned archaeologist who is renowned for their public speeches about their findings in the historic community. they have a very impressive track record, travelling great distances with numbers of solved mysteries under their belt. however, the stress gets to them and they enlist the help of a stay-in assistant; the other character, a student who is struggling to make ends meet, picks up the job offer and receives the job. however, what they don't know is that the archaeologist has the full intent of dragging them around wherever it is they go, solving mysteries and the like, developing a friendship (or greater) that cannot be replaced.
