In between RP and real life considerations, any of you play video/PC/board games?

Currently I've been on a bit of a Star Wars: Old Republic resurgence. I'm replaying the Imperial Agent storyline; it's by far my favorite, if only because the story actually has a lot of little variations depending on what choices you made in previous chapters. This goes even as far as the Knights of the Fallen Empire campaign, which is really impressive.

For simpler games, I also am playing Enter the Gungeon. A top-down rogue-like shooter which is out to kill you via bullet-hell, and where your weapons are either ridiculously lethal or laughably pathetic, RNG depending. Disabling the default music and replacing it with heavy metal or any music genre of your choice is my recommendation to get pumped up for the next playthrough.

Board-game wise, whenever I can get the players for it, the XCOM board game has been a favorite of mine. It's a four-player co-op game where everyone takes a role (Commander, Squad Leader, Scientist, Communications) and requires the use of an app to show the flow of the game. Like the original game it's based on, the tutorial can kill you. It's a blast when everyone's working under pressure.

How about the rest of you? What do you all play?

Stellaris. I haven't played that much. I've only sunk in around twenty-three hours creating an empire of literal space communists from their home planet of Mother Russia in the Rush B system. They will spread communism and the name of Great Comrade Stalin and purge all lesser races. That's one of the least played empires, however, because apparently, even aliens hate communism so much that around seventy percent of the alien empires I've met almost immediately declared war on me. I was forced to annihilate them via nuclear armageddon and conscript corvette rushing.

@Hostile Sounds like most games of Stellaris I have, except while I'm an expansionist Imperium, everyone else around me tends to either be Federation Builders or Democratic Crusaders. Truly, there is only war.

And corvettes. Lots and Lots of Corvettes.

Another Paradox game I'm trying to learn is Hearts of Iron IV. It's definitely more accessible than the past games, but I'm just trying to figure out effective ways to research, produce, and just survive with any given country. I don't think I'll be trying Poland again any time soon, even if you can go super ahistorical with them.

@Dynamo Frokane Yes!!!! I remember one of the libraries I went to school in had a bunch of them. Appointment with FEAR was my favorite by far because how utterly cheesy it was. :P

Been playing Kerbal Space Program a lot. Three years and I still can't get a rocket to the Mun. Can make decent spaceplanes, though.

Been playing a variety of things. I started Metro 2033 back up just to experience that modern 'Stalker' feel all over. After that, I went on a binge with CSGO (opposed to one game a day or one game every 2-3 days as before, I played several games each day) to crank my rank back up.

Besides that I played MOW:AS2 competitively, after a long time of not playing it. I was happy to find I can still kick ass in that game (honestly, nothing is more satisfying than blowing up a Tiger 2 tank with one infantry unit).

Now I'm probably gonna look into playing Dwarf Fortress again.

@Wade Wilson Probably the only game that portrays post-apocalypse in an honest way, outside of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

Try G2A - kind of a grey area but CSGO and other CS's are extremely cheap there.

I've been on a Star Wars: Old Republic binge lately as well. Been working on my Jedi Consular/Shadow and my Jedi Knight/Sentinel characters atm, thinking of starting a Sith Warrior storyline soon too

Other than that a bit of Sims 4 and occasionally if I'm feeling nostalgic Knights Of The Old Republic
I really need to buy more games tbh xDD

yeah, definitely. i wish they'd make another metro game to be honest, we need more post-apocalypse games other than the downwards spiral that is the fallout series lmao

also, thanks! i'll check it out later, gotta tend to testing out my christmas presents first tho

The Witcher 3, baby! Finally got my hands on that masterpiece and now that I also have a decently powerful PC to run it, I'm golden. Problem is there's so much to do that I only try to seriously go at it when I'm finished with writing and other, timed tasks - else I'd get nothing done all day!

How are you liking those classes? I tried running a Shadow, but I always felt way too fragile for a melee fighter (I know you're not supposed to be as durable as the Knight/Warrior, but still :P). I'd also recommend playing as the Smuggler. If nothing else, the entire storyline is highly amusing.

Also just discovered the Nintendo Virtual Console has the old Megaman X series. I know what I'll be working on for a little bit. Nostalgia ho!

I love my Shadow actually XD the stealth part of it is great, so if I'm not in the mood to fight trashy mobs I can just cloak and creep right past 90% of them..and there's something badass about being able to sneak up behind dudes and lightsaber them to death *cackles*
The actual storyline isn't as nice as the JK one (it's not bad in and of itself but when you compare the two the Knight's is better) though

Will definitely give the smuggler a go, that was my next planned Republic toon funnily enough hahaha

For whatever reason, I decided to pop my Mechcommander Gold CD back in and blitz the campaigns...

Nailed expansion, 2/3rds through the main campaign, so I figure I'll need to see if I can dig up MC2 from somewhere before I take those games out too quickly...

Overwatch. I've also started another playthrough of VA-11 HALL-A, because I love that game. I just cozy up next to my heater, put some slippers on, get out the chips, and immerse myself into the comfy.

It's more like 'what games are you planning on playing lately', since I haven't had enough free time to play games extensively in, well, years to be honest with you -- like, several years at least.

Anyway, when I can get a minute or two where I don't have something important to sort through or data to recover I'll stick on one of my fighting games, since most of the RPGs I want to play will require more time than I currently have the luxury of.

I've been playing far too much Enter the Gungeon recently.

While I'm enjoying it, I'm dodging a lot of dakka (but not enough dakka), I won't be playing any of the Touhou games. @_@ some parts of the game are just infuriating but I keep playing it...

Been taking a bit of a break from Overwatch, still playing a game or two every once in a while, it's just feeling a little stale right now for me. I've also gotten pretty much everything I wanted from the Winter Wonderland event.

Instead, I've been playing quite a bit of Skyrim because... I don't know, sometimes you just gotta play some goddamn Skyrim, right?

I also received Dead Rising as a gift from my brother a couple of days ago and that's been kind of a blast, even though it gets me pretty salty when something doesn't quite work out the way I planned.
