@Lauder Could I make a suggestion, but just a suggestion?

Why not have your character beginning to enjoy the blessings of Papa Nurgle? Things like a deadening of his nerves, corrosion of his armour, attracting smaller (but ever growing) swarms of flies to him?

I think that would leave room for progression through the RP - as he becomes more of a walking maggot-farm - but you can do as you like.

Of course, if he's from the Death Guard then he's likely to already be a full-blown Plague Marine, but folks need to remember that not all Chaos 'cult' groups are from the First Legions AKA Not all Night Lords are Raptors, not all Emperor's Children are Noise Marines etc.

Just thought I'd toss that out there for you to mull over.

Funnily enough I was planning to do have him be new, or at least newer. Maybe been around since the battle of Cadia or something, basically pleading to be healed because of a wound which may have been lethal or something. Unfortunately, we must remember that one must put their loyalty to the Death Guard, not join them just side with them. So on and so forth

Yea, sadly need to swear to Mortarion to become a full Plague Marine, but that should give another interesting dimension as well; just makes me look forward to it even more.

@Ollumhammersong Pooossibly, but that'd require 1) More folks joining the RP AND 2) A quite good writer, otherwise I imagine the character would be bland and poorly thought out...though not necessarily.

I might give it a go. His true allegiance may never actually show itself during the entire to. He would just always have that in the back of his mind and perhaps it leads to some false information and the death of a 'colleague' as what was supposed to be a masterstroke plan was carefully laid out to weaken his own side without ever incriminating him.

But I'll probably stick to the word bearer.

I think the biggest question is does one want to take a large gun like a plasma rifle or heavy booted. Because your not going to get to use it for very long in this game I imagine.

Also, who would control when or if any plasma weapon I wield blows up in my face?

I ain't goin' near those death traps. Then again, I have always had the one wielding the gun die due to malfuntion on the first turn of the game. I am sticking with a chainsword :D

I love the personality of plasma weapons in Warhammer. Bolters and chainswords are fun but they get kind of boring after the making my twentieth space marine character.
