Welcome to Death City

From a distance, Death City appears dark and gloomy, like a pile of numerous identical buildings with white walls and red roofs in the middle of the deserts of Nevada. While the buildings resemble those of European origin from the 1800's, from within, the city is actually rather lively, rich in atmosphere and culture.

The cobbled streets are long and winding and often maze-like, with lots of stairs, twists and turns. The occasional Shinigami mask structure is shown above the buildings. Right at the top of the 'pile' of buildings is the Death Weapon Meister Academy. A single long highway leads out of the city. Unlike the real world, The Sun and The Moon that appear over the city (and in the rest of the world in fact) have faces and can usually be seen grinning or chuckling. Although invisible to most, Shinigami's soul is seen surrounding the city like a forcefield. Overall, it is a strange-looking city. However, it is also the place where many of the main characters call their home.

Businesses in Death City tend to have supernatural themes, including a cabaret club called Chupa♡Cabra's, a reference to the supernatural creature of the same name. Most businesses have the word 'Death' incorporated in them, such as Deathbucks Coffee, the parody of the real coffee shop, Starbucks. They also have their own newspaper, known as the Death Times. Maybe businesses offer part-time work for the DWMA students in need of money. It can be assumed that many of Death City's inhabitants are the DWMA students. They are quite famous among the locals living in the city.

This RP is set in an alternate universe from the original anime/manga. The history for this world will be simple.

The current Shinigami who watches over the DWMA is a rather young Shinigami who prefers to go by the name of Malik. He inherited the job from his father, the previous Shinigami, at a rather young age when his father died. No one knows the exact cause of death, and it has cause quite the flur of rumors and gossip among the people of Death City. But Malik is by far fair, just, but ultimately kind with a great compassion for the young generation. The city is usually peaceful, unless the meisters on missions are unable to keep back the Kishins.

In this AU that deviates from the original plot, The first Kishin was never truly stopped. He was beaten, but was able to retreat to the other side of the world. The spot exactly opposite of where Death City was located. There he grew in strength, and was able to make more of his kind. He did eventually pass on, reasons unknown, and he was replaced by an even more powerful Kishin who continued his masters legacy and grew and army of Kishin. Currently the entire world is being threatened by the Kishin army, but there are peaceful times. Regular people can live in harmony for periods of time, and new generations can be born and raised.

Your character

You can have free reign over your character/s. If you would prefer to have two characters, one meister and one weapon, or if you want just one character and partner up with another RP'er that is acceptable. All I ask is that you post regularly. If you know you will not be active, let people know ahead of time I loathe it when peoples characters get stuck. Your character doesnt have to be a meister or a weapon either. As Gm, I would start world events and I will give random encounters for peoples characters. I will do random Kishin attacks, and random small boss attacks. Your character, if a meister or weapon, can be given missions by the Shinigami or accept public missions given by the DMWA. Public missions will be part of a seperate board from the students missions, but our characters will be allowed to be given private missions from the Shinigami. If you wan to make a villian character, message me and I will explain the details to you if you will commit to a villain. If you want your character to be a student in the DMWA, they can be any age. In this AU, people can learn at this academy at any age, simply because they are in a time of war. If not, they can still get missions from the publix board at the academy, and from the Shinigami.

Rules

1: No God Modding = everyones characters must go through character development, meaning they must start of weaker than they are strong. No one will be able to come close to a Kishin starting out.

2: No killing off other peoples characters without permission: Obviously dont be a dick about ok? I shouldnt have to explain this rule.

3: No random rampages = No logical good or bad guy just randomly starts killing random people. Yes there are crazy murderers, and pyschopaths, but just no. No random killing sprees. For example, no walking over to a building randomly when your character gets moody and just wrecks everyone inside cause they are pissed off. Villain characters will have a structured guideline to act within.

4: Be considerate = If you have a role playing partner, be considerate of their schedules and be considerate of their characters. I know for me I put my soul into every character I make, so remember that maybe your partners characters mean something to them.

5: GM Power = If you are refusing to cooperate enough times, or away for too long without notice, I will remove your character from the story until you come back. Not kill off, but remove.
