Name: Luna Yvilkov
Gender: Female
Age: 28
Place of Birth:
Russia but soon moved to Japan, then finally settled in the Philippines… Traveled soon after that.
Sexuality:
Asexual
Relationship Status:
Single
Occupation:
Bodyguard
Power:
Electrokinesis – She tends to only use it in close combat, transferring the electricity from her to the enemy with her punches. This considerably lowers the cost but is still enough to help her in her fights. However, she does use it for long range when she absolutely has no choice. Devastating the area with electricity is possible for her to do, electrocuting both friend and foe, but the cost is quite devastating as well.
Cost of powers use:
The cost of her power use is quite an assortment. It can range from a numbness of the area which has served as the conduit for her power (i.e. fist) to vomiting. Usage of her power for some time causes her fist to numb, continuous usage would result to her whole arm being numb until she is not able to use that certain part of her body. Long range usage of her power would result to her feeling nausea (say two lightning bolts). An AOE attack would cause her to stop and vomit. This may also happen if she continues her use of long-ranged attacks. A devastating AOE attack would render her unconscious.
Appearance: Luna stands at a height of 5'9 but she is usually seen slouching, making her look smaller than she actually is. Though this is looked down upon as it is considered to have 'no confidence', it seems to be the opposite for her. She hides her true strength with it. Anyway, she has long blonde hair that reach past her waist and she usually either braids it or just keeps it up in a ponytail - depends on the situation really. She holds obsidian orbs that are usually cautious and distrustful and also very scrutinizing as she has the habit of studying the person before her in the case of a fight. She has a lean type of build, much like that of a boxer, and she hides it within her choice of clothing which consists of a black hoodie over a white shirt, military pants and combat boots. As appearances can be deceiving, especially for her whose muscles are hidden, most people would usually underestimate her true prowess as she looks thin and non-threatening. Of course, she is not without her scars. As a fighter, she has culminated an amount of small scars on her body which are, at first glance, rather unnoticeable. Under the guise of her hands being 'burnt', she often hides it within wraps of bandages and hand protection, just in case she gets into a fight.
Skills:
- Mixed Martial Arts - Due to her upbringing, she has learned a number of different martial arts styles and incorporates it into her own style. This includes, but not really limited to: Boxing, Karate, Wrestling, Judo, a bit of Japanese Kenpo, a bit of Systema.
- Gun Mastery - While she is more experienced in hand-to-hand combat, she has also been taught how to use guns. She focuses more on handguns as they are easily concealed.
- 'Military Training' - While not exactly 'military training', she has been trained as a bodyguard and that has resulted to her being physically fit. This is also substantial to her own survival when thrown into life-threatening situations as this training kicks in by instinct.
Personality: Luna, in job, is silent and serious. She follows her orders without question and does not speak unless spoken to or if she really needs to say something. She is observant and very cautious of whoever is around her, picking up minute details and looking out for even small movements. Call it paranoia, if you wish, but it has certainly saved her life and the life of who she is protecting. When on job, she isn’t someone you can naturally talk with as she exudes an aura of danger. It’s akin to an attack dog on a leash – you feel that it is dangerous and the only thing holding back that attack dog is a leash… and the one who is holding it is the person you are dealing with. It’s a very good tactic for intimidation and that mostly leads to nice and proper dealings – no bloodshed, no deaths, no problem. However, in the case that someone does step out of line and harm her contractor (or is ordered by said contractor), she will retaliate and is usually ruthless and merciless in this regard. Of course, it should be noted that she is still bound by her own rules where she cannot kill unless she absolutely needs to. This often causes battles of morality in her head but she can usually resolve it before something happens to her.
Out of the job, though, Luna turns into a completely different person. She becomes friendly, helpful, understanding and considerate of others. While she is still cautious about what others might do and is still covertly analyzing a person, she isn’t as intimidating as when on the job. She is usually seen with a small smile on her face. She sometimes knowingly – though sometimes unknowingly – makes witty and sarcastic remarks but those are made with only good fun in mind. It should be noted that Luna isn’t the best of people to ask in terms of morality as she has one whacked up sense of what is right and wrong. While she has an understanding of what society thinks of it, and follows it so she wouldn’t be alienated or worse, she still doesn’t get much of it and holds dearly to her own sets of morals. She is fine with fighting those that are unarmed, harming those who others think are innocent, if it is needed for the job. For her, the contractor is always right. There is no job too dirty for her and unfortunately (or maybe fortunately), hurting a child doesn’t affect her too much.
History: Luna Yvilkov has led a very bloody, complicated and exciting life. Let’s start with her parents. Anne Dela Luna and Arthur Yvilkov met under the light of the moon in a riverside in the Philippines. Though this may sound romantic as heck, let me show you the more detailed picture. Arthur, part of the mafia, had been assigned to a group in the Philippines to raid a certain Dela Luna family as they had escaped with their debts. Finally tracking them down to a remote part in Leyte, they dispatched a group to them. And there Arthur was, pointing his gun at Anne with every intention to kill her. However, with much pleading from Anne, Arthur decided to simply keep her as a trophy.
Now wasn’t that romantic?
Arthur went back to Russia and continued to keep Anne. As years passed by though, he found himself falling for the Filipina. After much consideration, he decided to marry the girl. Anne had feared him once. But by then, even she had grown feelings for the toughened man. They were married and everyone rejoiced. Only a few months after their baby, Luna, was born, everything went downhill. The mafia had been run under the dirt and they were now being hunted. Fearing for his family, he packed up everything and then escaped to Japan. They had stayed there for ten years. In these ten years, Luna has grown to become a strong woman. She was immediately taught by her father how to fight when she was old enough and began enrolling her in different martial arts dojos to help with her training. Anne had let this be as she knew the dangers they were in. They were not safe. Not yet.
When Luna was ten years old, she had received word that her father had died in an accident. Anne, catching on quickly, fled to the Philippines carrying only her daughter, money and prized possessions. There, she hid. Being the woman she is, she had managed to garner trusted people and use old contacts to keep herself and her daughter hidden. Luna was then taught more self-defense techniques by those same friends that helped them as they feared that Luna would be an easy target. She willingly accepted all of this. She was dropped out of school when they arrived at the Philippines but she didn’t seem to mind all that much.
At the age of fourteen, she had taken to the streets. There were underground fights that yielded good money, small gang fights that could give you pocket money and a mean reputation. Luna had to live somehow right? She had to quickly learn that street fighting isn’t the same as fighting within the ring which held too many rules. Here, it was all or nothing with the only rule is to not kill anyone. Any other rules is up to the person’s moral compass. She soon became quite famous as one of the few girls who are powerful enough to actually be feared in the streets. Gaining the name “Prinsesa ng mga Demonyo [Demon Princess]”, she became more famous in the streets. As years passed by, she grew to understand her circumstances and protected her mother until she passed away when Luna was only eighteen years of age due to a disease. She was then promptly taken in by a bodyguard trainer after seeing her fight.
And so there she was, ten years later with tons of experience under her belt, attending the gala in Buckhead as a bodyguard. The person she was guarding was well-known within the mafia but was also a businessman who made quite a donation to the Wildlife Charity which gave him a spot in the gala. Being the careful man he is, he decided to take some bodyguards with him. Everything happened all at the same time and it was more than her brain could process. People had powers and it went out of control. She had one too, but she could keep it under her control. The one she had been protecting was injured but still alive but he had yet to recover from his coma.
Shame too. She couldn’t get out. She didn’t have her money.
