Oh, fantastic! I've read the backstory and the current story and I've got a character in mind. If I post it and get accepted, how exactly would you suggest I begin? Waking up confused, perhaps? I'm not too familiar with Mystery Dungeon locations.

me neither, I've only played the first mystery dungeon, but if you read bulbapedia, serebii or so you won't have a problem following locations

and for the beginning, it's completely up to you

you can wake up confused if you want to! currently right now Jess and Pip's Team(Pip, Isole, and Lucio) are heading off towards Beach Cave for a mission, Jingle is in front of the Wigglytuff's Guild, Déspota/Tirano/Autócrata/Dictador(Bad Rulers) are in Spinda's Cafe discussing with a mysterious Pokémon, everything else, others know more about

EDIT: You can have any beginning you want, as long as you can fit in well

Personality: In a word, rash. Seemingly in contrast with himself, Venge is a gung-ho showoff, full of energy and enthusiasm. He is quick to anger but equally quick to forgive, and is a great companion. A quirk of his is a sort of theatricality to his words and actions—everything is exaggerated and emphasized, spoken and done with emotion and confidence, as if a film crew is everpresent to record every second of his life for eternity. Often at odds with his own nature and abilities, Venge knows he needs to become more cautious and patient (he is, after all, the Patient Pokemon) but a degree of pride and a disinclination for slowing down make him slow to learn and slower to change. He can also be quick to judge others and stick by first impressions, though it takes real effort to make him hold a grudge. For all his faults, though, he is totally honest and trustworthy. He wants to be a hero.

Background: The true memories of Venge are yet to be made. While many Pokemon who claim to have been human have been around for some time, this Wobuffet is new to the scene. Everything from his past life, aside from a few dim images, are gone; he remembers fighting, struggling, winning...blood, sweat, pain, and triumph. All that, however is only memory; this soul's existence begins anew here.

Other: Venge chose his own name, since he doesn't remember his original. The idea sprang both from 'vengeance' and 'revenge', which is pretty much all he can do in a fight. He both loves and hates the nickname 'Vengie'. He wears his blackbelt around his head like a bandanna.
Theme Song: What It Takes to Be a Hero Venge will occasionally, absent-mindedly hum this, as if it's a distant memory ingrained upon his psyche.

Did I miss some sort of rule? Blackbelt is a Pokemon item, after all. Slight boost to fighting-type moves and 'determination'. Chose it more for character than functionality. Hmm...do those items not exist in Mystery Dungeon?

nonononono, that's not the problem

black belt boost the power of super effective attacks by 20%
but none of the attacks of wobuffet receive any boost from it
is like giving a balloon to a rotom fan, I though you made it as a joke

BlackBelt actually is for Fighting-Type moves, ExpertBelt is the one that increases super-effective moves

Like I said, it's mostly for the character. Venge is somewhat based on the ironic idea of being a really exuberant fighter at heart but being unable to perform any attacks.

Thank you for acceptance, Hiro. I regret that due to traveling on the impending Spring Break I may post a lot less often over the coming week than I wanted. Still, I'll make every effort to give it my best.

My cat unplugged my computer and I lost all my progress on my post that would have been here awhile ago. I just got it written back up and posted. ._.

I kinda charged into Beach Cave, but if you're gonna start in front of it I can edit my post and notice Venge instead of going inside.

Actually, Venge's going to be in the cave. I'm working on the post as we speak, and I'll leave it open-ended so that you can choose to interact with him or not, though I'd definitely recommend it.
