Wyca is based off the legend of Laelaps (the dog) & the Teumessian fox.
NAME Wycaria Laelaps
AGE 22
SEX Female
PHENOTYPE Faunus, Siberian husky
APPEARANCE Wyca's appearance can best be described with three phases: child, pre-Atlas Academy/pre-WNTR, and current.
As a child, her messy, chestnut brown hair hung down to waist-hip length. She wore light clothing: a tank top and shorts, usually.
Several traits that have persevered throughout Wyca’s life are the following:Her skin is medium-light, dark enough to tell she’s related to her Vacuan family, but not enough to be pale like her father’s. Her height is on the shorter side of the spectrum for average height.
Dusty rose has also, always, been her eye colour. Due to being used to coding all the time, her fingers are constantly moving. If they aren’t, she tends to feel rather paranoid.
NATIONALITY Vacuan, because she was born there. Only her father was Mistralese.
WEAPON Last Call ;
main weapon, long distance"Last Call, Grimm! Then you DIE!"
Wyca‘s main weapon is similar to Velvet Scarlatina’s [in the actual RWBY show]. She also utilizes a hand-held camera to take photos of other people’s weapons, acting as a conduit to create solid “light copies” of them. However, in replacement of Velvet’s toolbox, Wyca carries small, electronic pocket books. Each page has a brief summary of the weapon. The less complex it is, the less space it takes up; for instance, a simple pistol with bullets may only fill up 3/4 of a page. Every one of her books has a certain limit to the amount of weapons able to be stored, depending on how many pages there are.
To initially use a weapon, Wyca must transfer it by connecting her camera and electronic pocket book wirelessly. Her Semblance syncs naturally with Last Call, because to modify a weapon, she need merely to hop into the book. Behind the short synopsis lies its code.
Whenever a weapon is taken out and fought with, it only remains for about a minute. As mentioned before, it’ll appear as a solid “light copy”. They all appear transparent, like Velvet’s, but are outlined in Wyca’s blue-purple aura colour instead. After that, its description and code vanishes from her books, and Wyca loses memory of it. She’d have to encounter the same weapon again in real life, take a photo, and transfer it into her books.
Wyca keeps her books magnetized to multiple bands, fit for her arms, legs, head, or waist. Since she has to physically have the pocket books on her, not all of them are attached to her during each fight. If there happens to be a surprise attack, without her library of books, Wyca certainly has a limit to the amount of weapons she can use.
With Love and
My Psychotherapist ;
mini sidearms, short distance"With Love... me. Byeeee~"
"My Psychotherapist told me that you'll damage my health. HahahaHAHAHA- nope, I'm definitely sane."
These two are backup weapons; nothing more, nothing less. They are pistols charged by Dust. Wyca was drawn to the Forge to help boost their capabilities. Her mentor has been bugging her to not be so reliant on her Last Call, and now she’s finally swayed and complied, agreeing to do so.
SEMBLANCE CybercaperA handy semblance that may be an offensive or defensive move, this allows Wyca to slip through technology. For instance, camera systems, computer systems, and scrolls. It's really a lively dance, as opposed to 'silently slipping in', thus explaining the 'caper' part of the name. If there is some sort of hindrance - defense systems, firewalls, viruses, etc. - she must think rapidly in order to elude those, trotting around inside the targeted technology. Wyca's personality lines up well with this.
She can use it offensively by he reprograming the tech (changing the code). Defensively, she can escape to the technology, transporting/coding herself device to device.
Coding something wrongly results in physical cuts and scrapes on her body. Large-sized scars only are inflicted upon her if the technology is broken or crushed from the outside. At the same time, Wyca is forced/thrusted/shoved out.
Other possible dangers include the technology being shut down/off completely from the outside. In this scenario, Wyca is quite literally trapped inside.
The mental consequence is drowsiness. During a technological shut down/off on the technology, she'll have to fend off sleep, because the technology is considered to be 'sleeping'. When she doesn't accomplish that, she's stuck inside of it until it's turned back on, and then she wakes.
Her semblance is something Wyca can improve on. She tests things out while programming and fiddling around with technology, and uses knowledge earned there when diving inside. Focus is another aspect of Wyca's semblance that can be worked on. To enter the desired technology, Wyca focuses her mind on getting in, picturing herself already wading inside all the code. She's trying to refine her skills with completing this process quicker.
AURA COLOUR An intense, dark shade of blueish-purple. TEAM WNTR from Atlas Academy.
EMBLEM (The blueish-purple infinity sign is in the middle, the color of her aura.)
PERSONALITY Wycaria has evolved an awful lot, and at a swift rate. Initially, in her town in Vacuo, she was naive about the extremity of hostility in the rest of Remnant. She was given the option to heighten her understanding early back then, due to her father's travel stories. Nevertheless, they were mere jumbles of words and plots to her child ears. Her mind filtered out the reality, combining stories with artistic ideas passed down by her mother. Dogs, naturally, run on trust and respect. Her playmates, elders and leaders of the entire pack could be trusted. One property over, the Faunus fox family gifted her with mischievousness. All those three traits Wyca has held up in her mind, despite her drastic change of perspectives in the future.
The first of these began during her time spent whilst being sent off to Atlas. She had to stay social as to not raise attention, without leaking out too much of her own information. Once Wyca found her mentor, purely by accident (or so she believes, since it was really her father's doing), she became too impatient. Intent on learning something new and yearning to howl about how she always had to distance herself, once Wyca found out he was okay towards Faunus, she barged in and claimed them connected, accepting the contract he'd mysteriously already had written instantaneously. His first lesson to her had been patience. If it had been anyone other than her mentor, she'd surely have been thrown out with bruises as a reward for taking a colossal risk. Wyca's still working on patience to this day.
Over time she's realized how right her father's stories were, and how ignorant she'd chosen to be. She gained humility and understanding for other people and their core values and compromises well. Wyca will definitely stress and think about it, even after she's fought or departed from them. She's hesitant in her own ideals, attempting to weigh and perfect them constantly.
Wyca's possesses intense, firm trust in her closest friends and family. She's hardly affected by threats toward them. Assisting them isn't the problem; it's her barely perceptible reaction to threats, if there's any, believing that they'll know how to evade such threats. After WNTR's collapse, that aspect has been withdrawn considerably. Wyca is slightly protective than before. More than that, WNTR's collapse has exaggerated her previous fretting into anxiety whenever she hears bonds of friendship start to tear apart. Still, she doesn't mind telling her own experiences, including her latest failure.
BACKGROUND Growing up, Wyca had been born into the dog family. They weren't particularly wealthy, but through an ancestral bond created long before she was born, the dogs were bonded to the fox family. It turned out the two supported each other fairly well, especially when they weren't quarreling. As a result, both sides had enough money and resources to not starve every year, though barely.
Anyway, both her parents were dog Faunus and she was their only child. Although her mother was born and bred in Vacuo, her father was originally from Mistral. He'd experienced harsh discrimination inside and out. While travelling to Vacuo, he'd passed by Vale. It seemed considerably less cold toward him compared to his home continent, and he wanted his child to 'live the world', not live the rest of her life protected and ignorant. Her mother was artistic and a bit of a daydreamer. Their partnership functioned in harmony. Wyca was sent off to the Atlas academy, a place neither of them had been to. They figured she could familiarize herself with the landscape and communities in Atlas for 2 1/2 years.
That plan failed. She wasn't alone. On her way there, she found a male human from Atlas, in Vale. He'd already finished the academy in Atlas, four years older than Wyca. He mentored her on learning and surviving as a Faunus, and how to uphold her honour and dignity. Wyca received an extraordinary head start due to the information he shared.
timeline; both parents were Faunus > father from Mistral stayed in Vacuo to keep training with the other dog family Faunus in the Faunus ways > sent to Atlas, father figured she would be able to spend two years and a half there to familiarize herself and then apply (14 1/4 yrs. old) > found mentor in Vale, stopped for a two years and three quarters (17 yrs. old) > Atlas academy for four years (22 yrs. old)

STRENGTHS - Long-distance. Her Last Call is an extension of this fortitude, which must be prepared beforehand. Given the correct weapon, she can be an excellent sniper. Her skill with short-distance isn’t lacking, though, with all the different weapons she’s tried. It’s only that she’s more comfortable with long-distance at the moment, since a grand percentage of her experience is with Last Call.
- Creativity, specifically for weapon building. She’s average with physically constructing weapons, but because she has designed additions to weapons to code, Wyca is familiar with the process.
WEAKNESSESS - Panic attacks. These are minimum and rarely stabilize. If the circumstances plummet to such chaos that they they do manifest, they’re severe, a fiery hurricane of panic. She’s been prescribed techniques to practice for them, but unless other people/friends/family around her assist Wyca, it’ll take too long to calm her down. Problems prompted by the panic attacks are in effect as well, either before or after them; for instance, insomnia.
RELATIONSHIPS None currently. She's beginning to develop a certain fondness for her mentor, but she's confused about it.
