Life is hard in these Hills. It's not like life on the flats. Meth, shine, oxy run like the creeks and rivers. You're life is laid bare for the whole of the small town to gossip and talk about behind your back. Dirt's too rocky to farm, county can't fix the roads, mining is about only the work left but the governments been shutting down coal. Let's not even get into the feudin that's been going since the civil war.

How do you escape? A question that's been asked for generations. Almost no one leaves these County lines alive. The ones that do? They end up coming back. These hills have a hold on the mind. Something keeps calling you back to them. Maybe its because life is slower and simpler up here, maybe its because people know exactly who and what is going to come against them.

Everyday was struggle, everyday was just like the last. But no one will ever forget that day. The day everything changed, the day that we become The Unwanted. A normal Saturday night, bon fires, whiskey and pickup trucks. Just a normal Saturday out by old man Johnson's farm. Then something happened, nobody knows what exactly happened but we were all changed. We had abilities, abilities we couldn't control or asked for. We've been run out of homes by the people we've known all our lives. People who knew us better than we did. What's gonna happen now? How are we gonna survive?

They killed Tillie Helton, they beat her, raped her, murdered her. But we're the monsters? Ironic isn't it? We they may be the first in a generation or two get away with our their lives. Its funny how life works isn't?

Say what you will about Katahrins Mountain, it'll make you tough. These hills and hollers will teach you to survive or kill you trying.

We all had lives, families, friends, jobs. Things were going well. Things like this shouldn't happen to people like us. We had everything going for us, we were gonna take over the world. We had wealth, powerful families and connections. We were going to be doctors, lawyers, singers, entertainers. The world was ours for the taking but no one was ready for this. None of this was our fault. Why can't they see that?

Before that Saturday night, it was the best of the best. Everything we could have ever wanted was ours for the taking. The fastest cars, the finest houses. We had the lives people dreamed of. You ever watch those crappy teen dramas in Southern California? Yeah that was our lives. Our lives in Atalanta

No one knows what happened that night. We were all at the Wildlife Charity Gala, 10k a plate. The richest of the richest, the elites of the south were there, and we were the only that changed. The only ones with this shitty gift.

Our Lives will never be the same. No one will have anything to do with us. We are little more than pariahs now. Our friends don't much to do with us, the shops we used to go to, the restaurants we used to go, none of them want anything to do us. Even the banks don't us around! Do you know how bad things are when banks don't want your money!?

---- General Information ----

This is a supernatural story is about two very different groups of people who come into superpowers. One group is from a very rich part of Atlanta, the other from Black Mountain in Harlan County Kentucky. These lifestyles are about as far apart as you can get.

Society has rejected these people out of fear and are openly calling for their heads. The government wants them for more than a couple of reasons. Hate groups are popping up left and right now as people with these special abilities become more and more common. The world has pretty much turned on you, and would be happy to be locked up or killed.

Now when I say hate groups are popping up left and right, I mean groups like the KKK, New Black Panther Party, ISIS, I'd add some other hate groups but these are the assholes I could think of. Nonetheless the notion stands, these hate groups have shifted their focus away from their usual fare and put their focus strictly on us.

There's gonna be a lot of drama, action, and romance if you're into that kinda thing. The world doesn't want you, hate groups want you dead, and who doesn't wanna know how this whole thing started and why this unknown event happened? I'd like the overall tone to be dark and somewhat desperate. That doesn't mean there won't be time to goof off and blow off steam, but this is gonna be far from a party.

---- Area and Character Information ----

To go into a little more detail of the locations that we will be starting in. Buckhead is an affluent uptown district of Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia. To put into perspective, it's the second wealthiest zip code in the south, Palm Beach, Florida is number one. It's been called the Beverly Hills of the South/East. Buckhead is one of the nation's "10 Top Affluent Communities" due to "the most beautiful mansions, best shopping, and finest restaurants in the Southeastern United States". A little Google fodder for you.

Next up we have Harlan of Harlan County, Kentucky where the median income for a household in the county was $18,665 (I made more than that when I was 18.) Taking up just under two square miles (1.8) and a population of less than two thousand (1,750 as of 2010.) I wasn't to find about too many fun google facts about Harlan so I'll toss out a few things I personally know. Those Hills are one of the most beautiful things I have seen. That's both in reality and drug induced hallucinations. There is a certain... song that it sings. It begs you to stay, if you can escape the song. That song will always play in the back of your mind. It's hard living, both in drink and money, that make just as hard of people. They can hunt, fish, survive off the land, when things break, they gotta figure out how to fix it.

So each group will have a very different skill set for example, the mountain group will be much better at survival, hunting, fishing, so forth and so on. Having lived a somewhat isolated life, the mountain folk aren't the best at being sociable and getting along with people they don't know. More than likely, they are gonna hate a big city. Some may like it, others will wanna get as far away as possible.

The other group will be better with people, able to move around society without an issues. They can get what they need done and if we're honest, they are more than likely a little bit smarter. With that said, there's a pretty good chance these people won't be able fix a car or know how to hunt or survive.

As for relationships and knowing each other. Everyone from the Hills are gonna know each other. Not everyone from the other group will know each other. It is possible that people from the two different groups know each other, just highly unlikely. Also everyone from the mountains are gonna know Tille Helton, and what happened to her.

These are just examples of the difference, and is by no means set in stone. There is no reason for a totally useless dumb ass can be from either place, there is also no reason that someone can't be the smartest guy/girl in the room just based on where they live. The main point is these are too completely different sets of people, different skills, different experiences, different tastes, different everything. One thing that I will beat a dead horse about the difference. Mountain folk are poor, poverty stricken poor. The other group is rich as all get out. Go crazy with the riches people. Also as a side note, if you wanna do something different than the rich person character type, we'll figure that out as needed. You won a raffle, or a guest of somebody, worked there, bodyguard, whatever as long as it kinda makes sense I'm not picky.

---- Story Information ----

The story will be broken down into three arcs. The first one is pretty much world building. Getting to know the characters, and meeting the groups and having the groups interact a little before moving on the second arc.

Arc one:
Katahrins
Our story starts out a week after the death of Tillie Helton. Tillie Helton was a beloved member of the county. Tillie was a kind and sweet young girl who few had bad to say about her. What happened to her was shocking to everyone, and a wake up call for The Unwanted that it was time to get as far away from there as they could. Things were further put into high gear as another just gets away with their life

As a group they get together and talk about where to go and how to get there. They come to figure out Knoxville is only two hours away. Where less than a day later the hate group catches up to them. Forcing them leave in a hurry.

Buckhead
Our story starts out two weeks after the events of the Gala. The Gala was turned upside down when powers start popping off without a warning. As a result three people were killed more were hurt. Details are at best a little hazy. These people have it better than Katahrins. These people have been pretty much forced indoors. As they trying to go about their lives things keep falling apart. Only a handful of places in town are even willing to let them into their buildings. Through this segregation they all meet up and in the end they two are forced to leave town and head north.

I know I just kinda, sorta, spilled the beans on the story. There will be plenty of twists and turns still to come. I only laid out the first arc just so everyone is on the same page. There will be at least two, maybe three arcs.

---- How do the powers work?----
These powers come at a cost. By that I mean for example blood, is used for the activation of the power. The more blood involved the larger the effect of the power. For example, a lighting user may only shoot a bolt based on a nick, but if the user was to slit their wrist open, they may be able to rain down lighting.

So while we have this awesome powers, there is a cost to using them. Going back to the idea of using blood, a PC doesn’t HAVE to use their own blood, you might get a gigantic douchebag using your blood to power themselves. Fear can turn enemies into allies and allies into enemies. As with anything there are different routes you can take to learning the use of these powers. A heavy power hitter with an AOE that uses a lot of blood or you can learn to be precise, making every drop count. Maybe a hybrid of both.

Get creative with your power set, not everyone needs to be an offensive powerhouse. Sometimes a wacky/support/defensive power can be the difference between making it out alive or getting killed.

The one part I have yet to mention. All of the PCs with powers, will have a brand of some sort. Think, Pulse l'cie brand from FFXIII or the fayth glyphs from FFX. A brand or a mark or something that identifies you as a power user

---- Who is Tillle Helton? ----

Tille Helton was much beloved teenager. She was the first person in the mountains for her powers to show up. She was raped, beatin, and lynched. As horrific and shocking as it was. No one really said anything against. They were all too scared of she might have done. For the Mountain folk, this was the turning point. This was the one sure fire sign to them that it was die on that mountain, life was hard enough before Tille Helton's murder.

Cost of powers use:
As it was said, everything comes at a cost. You may not have to pay that cost but there is always a cost. I personally would love to see thing like blood being used. Things that have a sever consequences to using their powers. I do understand that people may have or have known people who had problems with self harm and things of this nature. If that is the case let me know and we'll try to figure things out.

Appearance: Description is fine. If you want to add a picture go for it, but not required. I'd like to see both of I was honest. Details, details, details.

Skills: Anything your character might be good at. Just remember where they are from, they're age and life experiences.

Personality: I would love to see one of massive long personality profiles but I won't compel you to do that but I would love to see that. The more fleshed out the character the better.

History: The more detailed the better. I don't need to know who your character kissed under the monkey bars in the fourth grade or what their favorite tv show as a kid. If you wanna do some of the deeper stuff in IC, I'm all for it. Just make sure we all have a really good handle on what's happened in their lives.

3. Yes, this is Low-Casual and up. This means post at least two-three full lines in this thread. However, I still expect clear speech, decent grammar, and good formatting! Walls of text will be ignored until reformatted!

4. No G-d moding or anything of like. You wanna put something together a few posts quicker than someone else, I'm cool with that. You wanna bail yourself of a bad situation with something cheap and crappy, I am not okay with that. Half the point of this RP is for you to face massive and server consequence for your actions.

5. Follow any other site rules, in addition to my own. If you make it a habit of breaking rules, you will be allowed a single post to say farewell with your character, and then you will be removed from the RP.

6. Being understanding and tolerant of everyone in this RP. There is going be a lot of dark and deep subjects that will talked about in this rp. There is a chance that you'll want to do with your characters that I/someone might not understand. If that is the case, take a deep breath and explain it the best you can. If something happens that you don't like or understand, CALMLY ask about. Nothing will get you removed form this rp quick than not even trying to understand.

Power:
Has a natural vector-altering field that extends 5 inches (12.7 cm) from her body that reduces all vectors within it. Any vectors applied to this field from outside that aren't zero are increasingly cut as they travel through the field.
Can extend this field to up to 0.5 km, and consciously manipulate up to three different vectors at a time within her field, whether extended or otherwise.
Can prevent the vector reducing effect from affecting things that enter her field.
Naturally and unconsciously uses her power on herself as necessary to survive. (Sort of needed, or she'd just die when she went to sleep.) The multitude of vectors this requires implies that she will eventually grow much more powerful, and/or that she would be much more powerful already if she didn't need to control the vectors required to allow air in and out, breathe, have her heart beat, allow electricity and chemicals to flow through her body, etc. This affect seems to apply to other living things as well, as people who have entered her field has survived despite the field reducing all vectors originating within it to zero, which would otherwise be fatal.
Can use her control of vectors to alter locational vectors, allowing for minor teleportation. Most often uses this to avoid needing to go to the bathroom by removing waste from within the body to another location.

Example of what this means:
If someone were to shoot her, the bullet's acceleration, velocity, and force vectors would all be cut severely by the time it makes contact with her. This means that, depending on the initial values that in this scenario would be based on the firepower of the gun, the bullet's actual effect would vary from bouncing off her harmlessly, continuing to be cut as it does so and eventually resulting in it simply floating in place within her field, (which would then eventually become stuck to her due to cutting its dislocation vector) to retaining enough force that it could send her flying as if it were a normal person being hit by a small fist punching them quite hard. It would take an incredibly powerful force to achieve the affect of a bullet on a normal person. For example, a railgun would almost certainly still pierce through her.
Alternatively, if she were hit by a semi-truck, depending on its speed, it would still likely send her flying quite a ways and do pretty sever damage to her body both from the initial impact with the truck and with the impact as she lands, due to its high mass.

Drawbacks:
- Can't turn it completely off.
- All vectors that begin within her field (natural field only, not extended field) are zero.
- Due to the above, her weight vector is zero, making her totally weightless so she has to wear super-heavy anklets and/or wristbands that are large enough to escape her field.
- Things that enter her field will eventually be stuck to her due to their displacement vector growing smaller.
- Must constantly use her power to consciously manipulate vectors on herself in order to move. Otherwise her velocity vector of zero would prevent her from moving.
- Must move at a consistent velocity or use her power to consciously manipulate vectors on herself in order to move. Otherwise her acceleration vector of zero would prevent her from moving/moving at varying velocities.
- Must constantly use one slot of her controllable vectors on herself in order to move, otherwise she wouldn't be able to move because her force vector is zero.
- Has to use all three of her conscious controlled vectors in order to move. (Force, Velocity, Acceleration.)

Cost:
Extending her field lessens her blood pressure in amounts relative to the size it is extended to.
Controlling vectors consciously depletes her body's supply of blood sugar relative to the number of vectors she is controlling. Three vectors will cause her to lose blood sugar at a rate of 10 points per hour. (For reference, since I don't want to assume you guys have diabetics in your family like I do, 300 is very high and 30 is very low. Going above or below these levels can be very dangerous. The safe and almost constant range for a non-diabetic is 80 to 120.) Four vectors increases the rate to 20, five to 40, six to 80, etc.

Weaknesses:
- Scalars.
- Lack of weights to keep her from flying into space.
- Own self.
- Anything that would alter her homeostasis as this could easily kill her.

It's a physics based power, so it can be hard to follow.

Okay so basically the way it works is:
Each vector is like muscles. She has to sort of learn how to affect each different vector the way someone would learn a new muscle. The way I was going to have her explain it to the group is: "Imagine if you woke up with a tail tomorrow. It would be really hard for you to figure out how to move the muscles in it because you didn't have that infant stage where it became natural for you. Or like moving a single toe at a time. It's difficult to figure out how to do." The only ones she knows how to use with any real skill are the ones she needs to move, and even them she's got limited control over.
A vector is basically anything with both magnitude and direction. So stuff like force, velocity, acceleration, gravity, dislocation, etc. Dislocation is the odd one out there because it's the one not as many people know about. It's basically the difference between two locations. Movement requires force to actually get it to start moving and continue moving, because movement is a force and generates further force. Velocity is basically speed. Acceleration is just change in velocity. So movement requires all three of these, and because she can't generate any vectors above zero since she's in her own field, she has to control these three vectors to move. And since her own weight vector is zero, if she doesn't either control it directly or wear weights that escape her field to give her weight, she'll basically just fly into space.
How the field itself works is a bit mathy, but it basically cuts all vectors of anything that enters it by an additional five percent each inch closer to her it gets, meaning that something that goes all the way through to make contact with her would have all its vectors cut by a total of 75%. So if something is moving at 100 mph, it would only hit her at 25 mph. Her biggest problem is that anything that stops within her field would continuously have its dislocation cut by the correct percentage until eventually the thing in her field was stuck to her with a dislocation of zero. The longer something is in her field, the more it gets cut by the correct percentage based on how close to her it is. This also means that things basically just slow down when they get close to her, so to take the snake example, she'd have plenty of time to move out of the way of a biting snake because it would get slowed down so much.
The cost is basically that controlling one to three vectors drops her blood sugar by ten points an hour, and extending her field drops her blood pressure. And since she needs to control vectors just to move... She's basically got to eat a lot of sugar constantly or she'll eventually go into diabetic shock. And in extreme situations, where she'd have to extend her field, there's a huge risk of her passing out or worse due to low blood pressure. And while she's passed out, she can't affect her weight, so if she isn't wearing weights to keep her on the ground, she'll just start floating away. The lucky thing is that while she's passed out, she's not moving with her controlled vectors so her blood sugar isn't dropping too.

Appearance:
Violet is a caucasian girl with light brown hair that she keeps straight and that reaches to just below her shoulders at the back, brown eyes that are a slightly lighter shade than her hair, and no scars or blemishes on any part of her body. She stands at five foot 3 inches, and has a notably athletic build with visibly toned muscles. She is underweight at ninety-eight pounds, though she contests that this is not an issue as her medium A-cup breasts take away weight that would be there for other females of her height.

She almost always wears a variation of the same outfit. She wears a skirt that reaches to a little above her knees, a pair of short cargo shorts underneath and below that athletic spats that reach beyond the bottom of the shorts. She also wears athletic socks underneath warming socks that cover most of her shins. Her upper body is covered by a black sports bra under a purple tank-top, every instance of which has an image of some sort on the front of. Her outfit is completed by a black sweatshirt with a rose that sits over her heart when it is fully zipped, and stems and vines with thorns to match the rose spreading over the rest of the hoodie, along with a larger rose on the center of the back.
She also wears heavy, metal bracers on her lower arms and shins that each weigh one hundred fifty pounds and are six inches thick on each side. Her power causes the first five inches to be weightless, so each bracer adds only twenty-five pounds to her weight. These bracers create the one hundred pounds of weight that keep her from floating into space. The metal used is stainless steel, making them very useful as protection as well. However, since these extend beyond her field, targeting them with high force can affect her with the full force of the hit.
She wears a thin metal backpack under her sweatshirt where she keeps blood pressure and blood sugar testing equipment, as well as all the sugar filled food she can fit inside.

Skills:
She is capable of cooking quite well, and is also a very talented singer. She has very good drawing skills, but always has trouble trying to color her art or paint. She has learned to play several instruments to varying degrees, most notably the guitar, violin, and piano. She has somewhat above basic survival skills, including education on what fauna and flora is and isn't edible and how to best prepare meals from whatever food may be available in a given area. She also knows intermediate medical skills.

Violet can best be described by her actions and by what others have said about her, as well as her own statements. As such, she has been allowed to comment on this file in purple text.
Attempts to describe her traditionally are generally met with failure, as she is eccentric to the point of being nearly non-understandable. The most obvious facets of her personality are her strange sense of humor and her tendency to either be extremely excitable and extroverted or extremely introverted and reflective, with seemingly no middle ground aside from her "jokes." (See "Quotes" for more information.)
She is incredibly intelligent and well educated; in a sense she is exactly what one would expect from the child of two world-travelling, incredibly successful entrepreneurs (See "History" for more information.) in that she is not only a prodigy in many regards, but has few social skills and many odd quirks.

She has a somewhat unhealthy obsession with snakes and an equally unhealthy hatred of insects. Due to a disorder she does not fully experience the sensation of pain that a regular person would. That is not to say that pain is totally eliminated, rather that her body's nerves don't react as strongly to painful stimuli, resulting in her feeling less pain. This, in combination with her total lack of fear of death has resulted in several self-inflicted hospitalizations throughout her lifetime. Perhaps due to her disorder, or perhaps simply a quirk of her mind, she does not exhibit the usual reactions to injury. (Screaming, clutching the wound, etc.)
Snakes are the best. I had a pet snake named "Nagi." I named him that cause my favorite character in a manga was related to snakes and named "Nagisa," plus it's kind of like "Naga" so I thought it was the perfect name. He was a red-tailed boa and ate rats. He was the best, but then one day when we were moving, he got out of his tank and was loose in the area. He killed three people, I was so proud of him. But then everyone wanted to find and kill him, so I made sure to find him first and release him far away into the wild. I really miss him.
*For the record, Nagi now lives a relatively peaceful life where he was released. He has several children.*
No but really I fucking hate insects and anything like them. The only acceptable ones are wasps, butterflies, and manti. Wasps look awesome and they're like living balls of hate that lay eggs in other insects that kills them. They pollinate cool trees and there's a wasp that fucking eats tarantulas and there is no greater justice in the world than killing those fuckers. Seriously, if you purposefully bring a spider within three miles of me, I will rip out your larynx and shove it so far up your ass that it goes back into place upside down. Anyway, butterflies are cool cause they're beautiful and, like, think about it. They spend their whole lives travelling many times their body length so they can eat enough to create a cocoon, then they hibernate while their bodies become awesome and then they live the last bit of their lives just pollinating flowers and looking cool. They are like the real example of hard workers. Oh, you built a monument, cool, but can you travel thousands of miles then morph your body into something cool and then spend your life working every time you have a meal? No? Then shut up. Butterflies are cool, man. And manti? Oh man, manti are the greatest. Like, they have swords for arms. I would love to have swords for arms, are you kidding? Plus, they look badass, AND they eat other insects. They're like, perfect. And the males are the best parents ever, like they literally die so that the female can survive without needing to hunt for a while as the eggs develop and hatch. If human guys were like that, the world would be so much nicer.

Oh, yeah, that. I know it's probably not why I just don't get scared of being in mortal danger, but I like to think it's because of this. So you know how there's like a moment where you sort of "activate?" Like when you first start being conscious and making memories? Yeah so, that happened to me when I was in japan, and my parents had brought me to a food place where the food is prepared in front of the customers, right? Well, first thing I ever saw that was actually capable of becoming a memory was a live fish getting its head cut off. So I like to think my brain was just like "Okay, pause." and went off to a corner and was like "Well, I was going to be a pretty average girl, grow up to be a success in some field, and just generally be 'normal,' but..." and then it looked back at the fish getting its head cut off and was like "Nope, fuck that, sociopath. Wait, I'm activated now, no time to talk to myself. I need to get back to the girl." and then just everything sort of went from there. Oh and that pain thing? Yeah, like, I obviously don't know how it feels for other people, but pain doesn't really bother me. And like, you know how when humans and other mammals cry out when they get hurt as a survival mechanism to get other members of the pack to come assist them? I just like... don't have that instinct? Like when I get hurt, my brain's just like "okay, so I'm injured now, cool. Noted, now what was I doing again?" and just sort of ignores it. Plus I've got like, a pretty morbid sense of humor when it comes to injuries? I still remember when I was... seven-ish? I was at my cousin's place and we were playing, well he jumped out of a tree from too high up and broke his leg. Like, it was clearly broken by the way it was twisted. And I just sort of stared at it for a while as he was screaming and crying and then looked him in the eyes, told him to look at me, and then said "walk it off." He started crying even more after that, but I for one thought it was hilarious. I'm pretty sure I just sat on a nearby rock after that and waited for his parents to hear him and come get him?
*Yes, she actually did just sit down and watch her cousin cry in pain with a broken leg until an adult heard him and came over. She then followed them inside and played games until the ambulance arrived.*

As I said above, Violet is best described by her actions and by what has been said about her. As such, I've collected several statements from her family and previous classmates. Having been home-schooled well beyond her age's general education, she skipped all of primary school as well as middle school and spent only a single semester in each year of high school. During her sophomore "year", at age twelve and thirteen, her fellow students wrote quotes and stories about her to be collected into a book that she was given when she completed the "year," as a farewell present for her moving schools. The following are several excerpts. Somehow, a common theme traveled among the student body, and many chose to use this theme in their statements.
"'Violet is simultaneously the most childish and most mature teenager I've ever met.' I had math class with her, and it was insane. So you know those assignments we get every day or two? Well, most of us had to take at least half the class to finish them, but I swear to god she did them in like thirty seconds. I'd be on the fourth problem and she'd have already given hers to the teacher to be graded. But that's not the weird thing. For the rest of class, she'd be on her phone and she was playing a Hello Kitty game. Not like, a game just with the characters, but like a game specifically made for little kids. I asked her the name once and looked it up and it was for three years and up, and just a serious Hello Kitty game. She played it three times, just in a row over the first month or so, and then she moved on to this game where you have to move blocks so that one will be able to get to a certain place. There were days where I'd watch her for the entire class, and she would literally just do the same level over and over for the whole hour."
I thought it would be funny for a highschooler to play a Hello Kitty game for kids in class, so I just sorta did it. Same with doing the same puzzle over and over for the whole class. It just seemed like it would be funny to do so I did it.
"Violet is terrifying sometimes. One day, a kid fell down the stairs and got really hurt, he was bleeding and his ankle was twisted weird, I think he landed on a pen or something to cause the bleeding? Me and Violet both saw him fall and rushed over to see if he was okay, and as he was crying she just suddenly turned her head and stared at the top of the stairs for a long time. It felt like ten minutes as I was trying to get her attention again. She was staring really intently like there was something dangerous up there. Then all the sudden she just turns really quickly so she's looking at me and said 'I think I just saw a ghost.' Then she turned to the injured kid and grabbed him, holding his cheeks in her hands and his eyes open with her thumbs, and just stared into his eyes for a second before saying 'I think it was yours if you don't get to a fucking hospital soon.' with a totally serious expression as if she'd just told him he had an hour to live. Then she just stood back up and walked down the stairs to the first floor and went somewhere. The kid practically went into shock, I wound up accidentally bumping his injured leg into a door frame and he just sort of whimpered instead of shouting in pain. I confronted her the next day about it and she just said it was 'a joke to help him calm down.' Ever since then, I've been terrified of getting seriously hurt when nobody but her is around to help, because I think she'd just ignore me."
Oh, I remember that. Yeah, that was pretty hilarious. I actually had to leave school because I was laughing so hard after walking away. But yeah, I'd totally have left this girl if she got hurt, probably after making a joke, heh.
"Violet is insane as hell but I love it. I've pretty much been stalking her whenever I could in school after something in shop class. Remember the buzzsaw there? Not the portable one, but the one on a lever that lowers it to just barely not touching the surface you set the wood you're working with on? One day in class, she was over there using it, and all the sudden there was this loud crash as the saw went back up into place since the lever was suddenly let go while it was down. Everyone in class was startled and looked over at her. She just turned around and looked at the teacher with a totally straight face and asked 'Can I use the bathroom now?' and the teacher asked 'Well, can you hold it until after class?' And she just held up her left pointer finger which was covered in blood and had bone showing through this huge cut for a few seconds, then grabbed it with her other hand and said 'Sure' and just turned around and went back to working on her project while holding her finger with her right hand. She didn't even flinch or scream or act like she was in pain at all, it was creepy. Well the teacher sent her to the nurse and I assume she went to the hospital. I'm sure you all remember the day she got on the intercom somehow? That was the day after. Remember how just all the sudden she was talking on it and said 'If any students need help with learning shop safety, I'm holding a special study group on the roof after school. Bring a knife and food.' and how shop class for everyone was just tool safety for the next week or so while they cleaned the saw? Ever since then I was trying to see her as often as I could because I wanted to see how she'd react to stuff."
Oooooh, that's right. That was actually really funny, I wound up laughing the entire time I was getting my finger patched up. I was lucky I noticed it just before it cut through the bone or I might have lost the finger.
"So I know the whole thing is supposed to be 'Oh she's the most and least mature person I've ever met.' but this story is much more important. To set the scene, I was waiting in the office where the assistant principals are because I was accused of having pot on me. Really, I had just spent the night at a friend's place and his big bro had been smoking and drinking all night so we both smelled like it, but that's why I was there. All the sudden Violet walks in and sits down a seat away from me playing with a screwdriver, like tossing it back and forth in her hands or flipping it and catching it. Well, Maxwell opened his door after a minute and called her in, but neither of them remembered to shut the door, so I could hear them talking. He said that there had been several reports of her having a weapon on her, and she just looks at him and says 'Anything could be a weapon.' I could tell that me and him both thought the same thing, which was 'oh shit, the screwdriver.' But she just slams it down on his table and picks up the little statue he had on his desk, then slams it into her forehead hard enough that the entire office heard it, then she just stands up, says 'But yes, I always carry a pocketknife in case I'm in danger in or out of school.' and walks away with all this blood coming from her forehead. I watched through the glass behind me as she just walked out of the school. Well, she didn't show up for a week after that, and when she did I asked her why she had been gone and she told me it was 'a self applied suspension, to save Maxwell the trouble of kicking her out for a week.' Then she goes to the office and I follow her and pretend to wait for something as I sat down because I wanted to see what happened. She walked into Maxwell's office and pulled out this knife with one of those giant erasers shoved on the blade and said 'I childproofed the knife.' with a totally serious voice and walked out, presumably to her first class. I lost it at that."
See, this kid gets it. My jokes are awesome.

Okay so I had biology with her, and when we were dissecting actual frogs she just put these medical gloves on and did the dissection in about a quarter of the time it took everyone else. But then the day we were doing a virtual dissection of snakes, she set the room on fire and nobody knows how she did it. It was like a magic trick or something but nobody saw her use a match or a lighter or even like sticks or something, and when she was searched afterwords supposedly they didn't find anything. But it was like cartoon physics. The teacher brought in a dead snake to dissect while we all did the virtual ones, so she could show us what they actually looked like, and I swear Violet's stare and anger is what started the fire. She was glaring at the teacher as if she had killed her family and then all the sudden the paper in front of her caught fire. It was small enough that we didn't have to leave the school but class got cancelled. There's a rumor that the occult club considers her a paranormal being because of that day, even."
Right, that. I was pissed. We were told for weeks that it was just a virtual dissection and we wouldn't have to actually cut open snakes, and then the fucking teacher brought one in anyway! I mean, I know the snake was raised to be dissected but that's fucked up! Everyone responsible for that shit should be tied up and sent to biology classes to be dissected when learning the human body, and they should be dissected while they're still alive. But about the fire. I had sandpaper because I was working on my shop class project outside of class, and I had it in my hand because I liked playing with it. Then when I saw the dead snake I got really pissed and I think I just wound up rubbing the sandpaper against itself so hard and fast that a bit of it came off while really hot and landed on the paper. It would be really cool if I could light fires with my eyes though.
"Well, one of the scariest things my daughter ever did was when she was seven or so. We were at the beach and she suddenly came over with a snake she was holding just behind the head, and said 'Look dad! It's a pelagic sea snake!' Later that day, I looked up what that is and found out it was incredibly venomous, but at the time all I knew was that my little girl was holding a snake that she herself was telling me had a really potent venom. I was panicking on the inside and she asked me if we could keep it. She asked 'Dad, can we keep...' then she turned it so she was looking under it and stared at it for a few seconds before continuing 'her!? I'm sure Nagi would love a new friend! Not that I'd let her near my Nagi, she might bite him, so she'd need her own tank. Plus she needs water and Nagi doesn't so she'd need her own anyway...' I was terrified that she was going to get bitten but I had to convince her not to try to bring it with her, so I told her that the snake probably preferred to live out at the beach instead of cramped in a tank. She just looked at me like I said something confusing and asked 'Why? I'm sure she'd prefer a life where she just eats and lays about. I'd love a life of just eating and laying about. Then again, it might get pretty boring... And she might have a husband and kids...' And this is why that day was burned into my memory, because she turned the snake and held it about an inch from her face and stared into its eyes for what felt like forever with how panicked I was, and she asked it 'Why are you so important, dangit?' and walked off with it to put it back where she found it. I followed to make sure she didn't get bit but she gently threw it into a little pool that formed from the ocean water and walked away as if there wasn't a dangerous snake right behind her. Luckily the snake just slithered away in the other direction but it was probably the most frightening moment of my life."
It's not like I was in any danger anyway. I knew how to correctly handle snakes since I was five. It was the first thing I actually tried to learn on my own, cause snakes are cool.

Her parents are both very successful at their respective businesses, and due to the volatility of their professions, they often have to travel to various countries. They were living in Japan during the time Violet was born, but since then have lived in Russia, China, Australia, England, Ireland, Egypt, France, Canada, The United States, and several other, less notable locations. As such, Violet has at least a rudimentary grasp of the various languages she grew up around, though she is only fluent in English and Japanese. (At her own request, as she had an interest in learning the language of her place of birth, even if she might never need to know it.) She was homeschooled until the age of ten, gaining an education that could easily qualify as college-level, and then began attending public schools "for the social experience" and to get certified as having had a formal education. Until recently, she has been enrolled in online college courses at multiple colleges. She has since dropped out after gaining her powers. Her parents had taken her to the Wildlife Charity Gala, where she gained her power. Since then, she has remained in her home and spent her time trying to study herself and her newfound abilities.

You want to know about me, DW? Aren't you like, omniscient when it comes to my life, since you're, you know, in another universe and linked here with your mind or something? I guess I can give the usual like I did back in school. So, I've been called "Sarcasm Incarnate," "Irony Incarnate," "Simultaneously the most childish and most mature girl ever," "Faggot," and, my personal favorite, "Queen 'Beat you in a fist fight with her words.'" I don't really have any fears or anything, but I hate insects and anything insect-like, such as millipedes and centipedes and spiders. I once stabbed someone for putting a fake spider in my locker. Last I knew, they were still catatonic, since I sort of stabbed them under the chin... Anyway. I love snakes, I like cats cause they're cute, and I like wolves and dogs that look like wolves cause they're cool. They've got that sleek, badass look to them and that makes up for them being dogs and gross. I had a pet boa named "Nagi" who killed three people so I had to put him on the lamb and sneak him out into the wild. I supposedly feel less pain than the average person, and I don't have the normal reactions to pain. But if someone tries to punch me to test that or something, word of warning, I will hurt you worse, because anatomy trumps strength any day, and I'm also decently strong. My favorite traits are my ability to kill an average sized human adult with as little as a sewing needle. No, I haven't actually done it, I just know how to. I'm also really proud of my singing, so I tend to sing a lot when I'm happy or sad or... feeling anything, really. So that's pretty much it, is that good enough, DW?
Okay, so can I just say for the record, fuck highschool juniors? So I wound up realizing I was and then coming out as a lesbian in my so called "junior year." Like eighty percent of my fellow juniors started calling me names trying to insult me. Jokes on them, I lit some of their backpacks on fire in the yard and suddenly they stopped calling me things to my face. But I got revenge. Since I was getting to the next year before anyone else, I got my yearbook and got it signed before anyone else. So pretty much every page just says "Fag" on it with the first few pages saying "F" then a ton of pages with "A" and the last ones with "G," which was fine. The cool people said really nice stuff and drew like hearts and stuff and this one girl, and trust me I'll talk about her in a minute, wrote me a love poem that was surprisingly really well written and sweet. But I got my revenge by getting all the people who were cool with me to write "Faggot" in everyone's yearbook that they signed, so it's likely the entire year's worth of students have their yearbook calling them it, so I've dubbed them the "Year of the Fags and Fuckers." But the school was really cool and let me sign other people's yearbooks early. That was a mistake. Every single person in the year who had called me names? Yeah, they've got a page of their yearbook that's just a giant sketch of two girls fucking and the quote "Well, I might be a fag, but I bet you guys are the ones who fap to fags, so here ya go. Have fun." I left that year very satisfied with my legacy.
Highschool seniors are much more accepting of lesbians, I've found. They had their own campus separate from the other three years at the school I was at, and that was helpful. Maybe it's because that's when everyone is "experimenting" or something, but there were very few people there who were anti-gay. In fact, once it got out that I was gay, I actually had quite a few girls ask me out. And every single one I responded to the same way. I beckoned them closer, leaned up if they were taller or down in the rare cases they were shorter, put my lips right to their ear and whispered in my quietest voice, "I'm fourteen." That got rid of them pretty quick, but I'm pretty sure I made one girl a pedophile. See that girl who wrote me a poem the semester before? She was only a junior for that semester that I was one because she was a couple credits behind, so she moved to a senior when I did. She never did let up on trying to date me, even when she found out she was four years older than me. She was a pretty cool girl though, I hope she's doing okay now.

Skills: To say she's good with numbers is a big understatement. JJ also has some computer code knowledge. Additionally, on her down time, she enjoys some kickboxing training.

Personality: JJ is a very rational person, mainly due to her specific upbringing at home. She stopped believing in Santa at a very young age, and when her friends were mesmerized by something they didn't quite understand, Jen always ruined the magic by providing the most logical answer she could up come with. Needless to say, she more or less remains the same person today. She's obviously not a woman of faith, and she never was. Jen is as much of a book nerd as she is a social butterfly, although depending on the circumstances, sometimes one trait trumps the other by such a difference, that it leaves those around her feeling somewhat perplexed.

History: Jennifer was born and raised in New York City. She comes from a family of intellectuals--her mother is a neurosurgeon, and her father is an engineer. Being that she's an only child, JJ was heavily influenced by her parents' passion for science from an early age. She had a small group of friends, but she also spent a lot of time behind books. Maybe this side of her stemmed from her environment, or maybe it was genetic. But more than likely, it was a combination of the two.

Jen's "drug of choice", so to speak, was numbers. Her favorite class all throughout elementary, middle, and high school was always math. In high school, she was offered various scholarships for universities, and she accepted them despite the fact that her parents could very easily afford her education. At the ripe age of 25, Jen earned her doctorate degree in Mathematics from NYU. That same year, she moved to Buckehead after she accepted a position at a local research university.

All was going great for Jennifer until that ill-fated Saturday evening. Being that she and her parents made a rather decent donation to the Wildlife Foundation hosting the gala that evening, they were invited to the event as a gesture of gratitude. Her parents still live in New York, thus it was only Jennifer who was in attendance from the small family of three; a decision that she'll forever regret.

Lynette is woefully average across the board. She stands at an average of five foot five. Her weight, while slim, held no hints of athletic tones or voluptuous curves. There was a tint of tawny color to her pallid flesh; a credit to her mixed heritage. Though her ruddy reddish locks held onto her Irish roots. Her skin was marred with a mix of freckles and upon her left shoulder laid silver slivers of scars from a more depressing time in her life.
Even her wardrobe was incredibly average. Despite Kentuckys warm weather she usually dawns a light jacket or long sleeves; in attempt to hide her scars from prying eyes. Her jacket cuffs are frayed from nervous twiddling and one of her favorites suffers from a hole in the pocket. Yet, she can't find it within herself to throw it away. Lynette has a preference for dark or neutral tones. Usually wearing the same dark stained jeans that was bought in bulk and basic black sneakers.

This particular power allows Lynette to create small earthquakes around her. Tremors are not particularly powerful by themselves though hers has a small probability of either creating or activating sinkholes.

She has very little to no control over the AOE of her power. For a basic attack (level 1-5) it spreads five feet in front of whatever direction she is facing. For an attack that would take enough blood to cause her to pass out(level six); it'd go out ten feet in small circle around her. For fully grown adult sacrifices, capable of knocking down a decent sized building and above(level 7-12), it'd reach out fifteen feet in full circle.

Cost of powers use:
A basic; you get what you give.
Being that tremors are low scale earthquakes it takes a considerable amount of blood to do any serious damage. On her own she can produce up to a six; a six requires enough blood to cause her to pass out. Anything above needs a fully grown adult sacrifice and increases by one person per level.

1-Not felt except by a very few under especially favorable conditions.
2-Felt only by a few persons at rest, especially on upper floors of buildings. Delicately suspended objects may swing.

Skills
If you live in the south then you should have at least basic knowledge of how to set up a camp site and go hunting. Needless to say Lynette had a very minimal skill set pertaining to such. She can start a campfire and pitch a tent. Maybe even reel in a fish or two; but that's pretty much all in that department.
She's a decent hiker and knows enough about the stars positions to navigate at night.

Personality

If it wasn't for the small population Lynette would probably mostly unknown by her community. She was often very passive and shy. More known for keeping her nose buried in a good book than much else. She has a slight problem known as 'resting bitch face' which borderlines murderous glare when reality interrupts her reading. When it comes to people Lynette has a very interesting take on things. People are very black and white to her. Either they're her best friend or her enemy. There is no in between which can cause tremendous stress on her relationships as she can become extremely clingy and slightly possessive of her friends. When she feels slighted by those close to her she's often defensive or cruel towards them. From this behavior her social circle is very small as not many people can handle the constant whiplash of emotions. From an outside take she can be labeled as 'petty' and 'dishonest' but from a personal view everything she says and feels is very real and very strong. Criticism feels like an attack and when people begin to pull away from her, Lynette is left feeling abandoned and betrayed.

Though she is ferociously loyal to her friends. Often finding herself defending them from any slight by outsiders. She's even gone out of her way to spread malicious rumors about those who dared to cross a friends path. Needless to say; she's a bit extreme. Though at her core she is a sensitive and sweet person. She genuinely wants to be liked by others and has even sacrificed personal morals to help fit in at times.

History

While Lynette was born in Danville she actually spent her first five years in the wonderfully small town of Harrodsburg, Kentucky. A small, slightly ancient, town that seemed to be the perfect starter place for the newly weds. Her father worked at nearby factory while her mother stayed at home and manned the house. They had no plans to move back to the hills, even after having their daughter life seemed pretty smooth. That was until her grandfather passed and left her father's childhood home in his name.
Apparently there was some serious debate on the subject of selling the house or moving in but her father's strong sentimentality won out in the end. Lynette was to young to remember or give much voice to which was a better place to live. Outside of photos, Harlan was the only home she had memory of and it was a decent home she supposed. Movies and shows always seemed to romanticize small towns. Making the townspeople out to be quirky and cute and super friendly. That was until you actually lived in one and realized they're not quirky; they're racist and usually on some type of drug. Everyone was usually sleeping with someone and if you were; everyone knew about it. Small towns run on rumors, drama and the dream of getting out.

Despite all of that. Lynette grew up in a fairly normal way. She was never super social. Preferring her own imagination to actual people. She loved running through the trees as she lead her shadow army against the unknown forest creatures. Her peculiar behavior didn't help her either, keeping her at an arms length from most people. Her parents at first thought it was cute and innocent but as she grew and the behavior only seemed to worsen; they grew worried.

At the age of ten she was placed in therapy. They had hoped to find the root of her 'issues' but with each new therapist Lynette would keep to her lies. She painted herself as someone with friends and a decent handle of socialization and after their fifth attempt her parents eventually gave up.

Now Lynette had known Tille. They had spoken throughout the years though they were never close friends by any means. She liked the fact that the youth was genuinely kindhearted. It was actually on Tille's encouragement that she placed herself back into therapy after a year of battling with her depression and self harm addiction. She had even opened up enough for her therapist to make a diagnosis. Bpd- or more known as Borderline personality disorder.

She never got to thank the girl for it either. Part of her was too embarrassed to even approach Tille. Her death though, her death shook her to the core. It was rumored thar she was possessed. That Satan had taken over the poor girls soul. Small town folk were extremely religious and often superstitious but even so, she was like a shining gem among them. Or so she had thought. The brutality that came from her death. The pure hatred and fear that they took out on her body. No one did anything about it. They whispered about in the shadows but lacked the courage to speak out against her murderers. It felt like a hot coal had dropped into the pit of her stomach and Lynette turned to her old vice for comfort. It from there she discovered she had a secret of her own. Luckily she wasn't the only one. She was careful when trying to find the others. Fearful of meeting the same fate but they were lucky in that area at least. No longer feeling safe in the hills they called home; they fled.

Ashton's power is to allow his body to create extraordinary forces of power physically impossible to any other normal human. What does this exactly entail, you may ask? Things such as a punch that could put a hole through a wall. Steel plating. If hard enough, a building. Clap his hands together to create a sonic boom, slam his fist on the ground like a hulk smash, launch himself with one of his legs to hurl himself at a great speed or leap a great length. He can also use his power to create a force to negate another force. Shot with a bullet? Equal and opposite force exerted on it to stop it, smush it, send that bitch flying. Same for say a truck, but would require much for effort. The amount of effort he puts into each force wave, if you will, determines the power, area of effect, range, etc. It requires more power to have it reach farther and effect a wider area. To not completely screw himself, Ashton usually uses minimal force waves at precise intervals when necessary to minimize costs. However, if a desperate of enough situation arrives, he might need to King Kong that shit.

Cost of powers use:
Every time he uses his powers, a certain part of his body, depending on the part of the body that does the exertion, goes into temporary paralysis. The area of which is paralyzed, the severity, and how long depend on the amount of effort. If he, say, flicks a quarter through a wall, his two fingers may be extremely numb for a short amount of time. Seconds or minutes, depending on DM discretion. Punching a person so hard he flies across the street and into an old lady's flower shop? His whole arm would be completely paralyzed for a good length of time. Hopefully not an insane amount of time. And if he happens to full on line backer tackle a cruise ship? He'll be laying there for a little while. Probably wondering why he tackled a cruise ship.

Ashton

Ashton has dark brown hair, thick and lush, his naturally wavy hair is usually slick back like the picture is shown when being business like. More causally he will mess with it, gel it to the side, maybe go for the "just got out of bed" look, he enjoys styling his hair. His eyes are a bright blue, piercing and bright, it almost looks like they glow in a dark room. His skin is fair, although usually tanned due to the nice south sun, his skin is blemish free and usually clear for the most part. As for facial hair, he likes to keep a little bit of stubble, like a five o'clock shadow.

Broad shoulders, athletic build, standing in at 6'2 and 220 pounds, he's built like a football player. And, well, he was. In highschool he used to do lots of exercising and weight lifting, but in the last few years he has kept in shape at the home gym despite the very busy life of a businessman.

After "changing", a small symbol appeared dead center in his chest. It's three small black shapes, similar to the black half of a ying yang symbol. They are arranged in a circular pattern, it's about the size of a quarter. When a parts of his body is paralyzed, the symbols duplicate and create a trail to the paralyzed area, where the symbols cover it.

Skills:
Ashton was a business man for a short time, living with his dad all his life, as well as being a quarterback in high school and captain of many sports teams including basketball, football, baseball, and volleyball in high school. Debate team, scholastic scrimmage, he is a leader through and through. He likes to call audibles on the play, lead the charge, and do things his own way. Usually they're good ideas, he's a bright guy, but not all his ideas are good. Even if he thinks they are. Besides the obvious athletic skills, being the owner of a large gun producer, he's been shooting guns since he was a little kid. He's not some top marksman shoot somebody half a mile away, but he's shot a gun before.

Personality:
A kid who is rich, got whatever he wanted it when he wanted it. Didn't see his parents much, went to a private school. Some spoiled rich kid right? Confident, cocky, pretentious asshole. For the most part, all of this is true. However, since the incident, his life as he knew it had been crashing down around him. Shame, humility, being humble was a hard thing to do. Ashton never knew how to shut up sometimes. He's faced situations where money would not help, and it sucked. Right now he has a better than everybody else attitude that is slowly being unraveled by the "oh shit" symptoms. Some things like deep emotional bonds are lost to him. Yes he's good with people, has an addictive personality, flirty, charming. But beyond that mask of illusion he is an empty shell emotionally, relying on pure raw lust as romantic emotion and having a loose concept of family and close friends. The closest thing to friend he could think of was trade partners. This hallow emotional shell is slowly creeping to the surface, and the reality check is starting to put him in check. He tries to put up his swagger and confident and put up this big front, just to hide that behind the wall there is nothing holding it up.

History: Born and raised in Buckhead, Ashton had a silver spoon in his mouth. His father was the founder on Conway industries, and his mother was an ex-model trophy wife. The two of them were always on trips and vacations and meetings, so Ashton bounced around several maids and servants to raise him in a big penthouse. He was very distant from his parents as a child, and saw them sparsely as they would come home between their travels, hug him goodbye, and then leave again.

School was normal for Ashton, at least, normal for going to the most expensive private school and getting a personal tutor. At the age of 12 his mom was diagnosed with cancer and shortly died, leaving his father his only parent. The death of his mother was saddening, but not as traumatic as it should be, considering he never really saw her. He turned to sports to get his mind off of things, deciding to spend his time taking advantage of his natural athletic ability. At the times he was home, his father actual did spend time with him, but it was just talk of business deals and offers, about his work. It was things he would say to his now deceased wife and had nobody left to tell, needing an outlet. However, all this business talk and strategies would help later on, and his father once told him that down the road he would pass the business onto him once Ashton went to college.

At the age of 16 life was good, he had already won state championship for football being the quarterback, had a pretty girlfriend, good grades, experimenting with drugs at parties and drinking, driving a Lamborghini around. Life was good, but then some adult shit hit the fan. His dad died of a car accident and the family business was being left to him when he turned 18, the company being run by the Vice President, whom Ashton considered a friend. Ashton squeezed the last two years of blissful highschool goodness he could before he got thrown into the business world, going straight from high school and running his own business. His father's teaching helped, along with the Vice President, and he spent two straight years in the constant cycle.

Once the gala incident hit, everything changed. Ashton soon lost a lot of his business, so he had to leave the business to his Vice President again to stop the loss of profits. His girlfriend flat out dumped him as soon as it happened, and once a girl knew what he was, he wanted nothing to do with him. Fewer and fewer stores and banks let him in, and he found himself driving his Lamborghini in circles around the city. He grew up with material things filling his life, family and friends and love were things he did not need. Or so he thought. Now, his money got him nothing. He was a freak. Alone. A depressed, lonely, shell of a man in a Lamborghini and a several thousand dollar business suit. There was no amount of money that could buy his life back now.

Power: He, by some unknown force has been given a domain over entropy, chaos, destruction. The power allows him to degrade anything that comes into contact with him into a lower state, for example, metals will wither away and oxidize, stones will crumble and become sand, and people will turn to ash.

Cost of powers use: life force, can be of any creature, but humans give the highest yield. In order to gain the power of one's life source he needs to kill that particular organism.

Skills: He grew up in the Alaskan wilderness for most of his life, only entering the city to either steal money or to immerse himself in the library’s books. Therefore he has attained many useful survival skills which he plans to use on his new journey. In terms of combat skills he is a skilled unskilled fighter which means that he is a really good street fighter, very agile, and is also skilled at archery. In terms of knowledge, he has a vast quantity of scientific and mathematical knowledge in his brain which he uses to basically get what he wants. If he wants something but can’t acquire

Personality: On the outside he appears apathetic and disinterested, but in reality when pushed to he can be quite passionate and fiery. He is however normally quite cold and when he decides to talk can be quite snarky and critical, but all in all he's a good kid. He fears loss and abandonment more than anything and would do whatever it takes to help his friends and family. He is a pragmatist who tries to live logically and question everything that he is told. This causes some people to see him as rebellious. He doesn't like to lie or manipulate people, but he is the type of person to do so if his or one of his loved one's lives were on the line. Other then that he can be irritated at times and is most easily irritated by pushy people. In terms of how he treats his friends, he is much more at ease around them and enjoys clowning around with them.

History: He didn’t have the luxury of a birth name or parents. He was a homeless street urchin, living with other homeless street urchins in the Alaskan wilderness near the town of Fairbanks. He was first taken in by a teenager who found an abandoned infant on the cold city streets. To prevent him from dying he took him into the village, where he was raised. When he was raised there he was taught survival skills by the other urchins. He at first learned to create things as an artisan, and was good at it too because he would frequently go to the library to read books on various subjects and disciplines. When he got older he was taught to use a bow for hunting and to fight in order to protect the village, though he did still act as a top artisan for the village. He learned all sorts of things, physics, history, literature, chemistry, math technology, even programming though he could only practice on the library computers, he saw it all as being fun and interesting. His life in this village was tough, but there he and his friends built nearly unbreakable bonds with one another.
Bad things were not uncommon though. People going missing wasn’t uncommon, but most would turn up dead, frozen to death, mauled by a bear, or even murdered. When something like this happened, the village would become quiet, and still, grief and regret polluting the air, especially around him, he didn’t want to let down those he cared about, and especially not let them die. Most of the times, unfortunately nothing could’ve done anyways. Sometimes, someone would contract a grave illness and be sent to the hospital. There they would usually be never seen again, but would most likely not have died, just sent to some orphanage somewhere, and in those cases it would be for the better. One day it all came to an end though, it had to have eventually. Nobody knew who did it, but somebody, a passerby horrified by the living conditions, somebody who grew older and decided to leave and live amongst society realizing that it would be better for the children, which it probably would have, told child protective services about the village. Shortly after, they came and made the urchins wards of the state, they were separated and sent to orphanages, the vast majority never saw one another again.
When he first arrived at the orphanage he talked to people occasionally, but nobody there really understood him or his love for knowledge like his friends at the village, so for the most part, he did what he always did. He went to the library and buried himself in books, to numb the not the pain of loss and discomfort like he used to, but to this time numb the pain of loneliness. His intelligence increased, and by the time he was fourteen, he was as smart as a college undergrad in most areas. He focused mostly on science, tech and math, seeing them all as being more interesting then the humanities, though he did have a lot of interest in history as well, it could not match his love for the sciences. He would also frequently roam the streets, getting into the occasional fight and sneaking into lectures at the local college.

By chance one day he met a prestigious and rich scientist and entrepreneur, Dr. Robert Miller, who was attending a lecture regarding the ethics concerning some fields of biotechnology. They sat next to each other during the lecture and afterwards the boy struck up a conversation. Though the conversation was not about anything super crazy or theoretical, the scientist was was impressed that somebody of his age about fourteen at the time would know college level chemistry. The scientist asked the boy about his story and how he got so smart at such a young age. They boy told him everything and though at first Dr. Miller didn't believe it, after doing some of his own research, he realized that what the boy said was true. He and his wife were trying to conceive for many years, but were never able to and since Dr. Miller felt as if he had a connection with the child and after deliberating with his wife, he decided to adopt him. The boy happily obliged and in a few days was on a flight to Georgia.

Leila, his new mother was wonderful and his father, Robert was a thoughtful man, so for the first year life was excellent. It was there where he gained the name Lazarus. It was there where he lived in a large house in Buckhead and attended his first year at a public high school. It was there where he made many friends and was admired for his intellect. These short few months were some of the best times he ever had. Nothing good lasts however. In the middle of his freshman year of high school his mother died in a fatal car crash. Both he and his father were devastated and a change in both of their emotional states were visible. Dr. Miller became more reclusive and detached from the world, he sold his business and decided to retire early. He spent most of his time locked in his room, he had become severely depressed. Lazarus on the other hand coped in a different way. He did not go gentle into that good night. Though he acted out quite often immediately after the accident, once again constantly skipping school most of the time and pursuing his own passions in order to numb the pain. He remembered how he cursed the world when somebody who he cared about was taken from him. He was full of rage and sorrow and decided to get stronger, so he trained, he got into more fights, started trespassing in order to conduct urban exploration and used his knowledge in computers to hack things and screw with people for fun.
Things have calmed down a lot by the time that incident had occurred. His foster father rebounded from his depression and Lazarus stopped being edgy. They formed a strong bond between father and son as well as from scientist to scientist. At this point despite being only seventeen, his father wanted to send Lazarus to college, he was at this point a certifiable genius, minus the delinquent activity and rebellious attitude, but then again nobody’s perfect. Lazarus wasn’t all for it though, he was flattered by the fact that a lot of the top colleges wanted to see him among their ranks, but he wanted to forge his own path rather than have it laid out for him. He even set up a workshop on his father’s estate, where he would tinker all night long, whether it be the engine to a car or rocket, a new synthesized chemical agent or a computer that he would be putting together, it seemed as if he always had something new. At this point he pretty much dropped out of high school though, but it didn’t affect him much, he didn’t think he made any actual friends there, he saw them as acquaintances. When the incident occurred it didn’t actually affect him that much. All the people who turned away from him didn’t really matter to him and all of the colleges that previously wanted him so desperately to join them now turned him away. His father wasn’t a religious person at all, and neither was Lazarus, so they both saw the powers that Lazarus gained as neither a gift nor a curse, just an event which occurred that should be investigated. The fact that Dr. Miller was in league was with Lazarus saw him being treated like one of the unwanted as well. Lazarus did not want to be a burden to his foster father, so he finally decided to run off and start to mold his path to glory, but still stay in touch with his father though, not wanting to abandon he who showed him the light.

Isaac can manipulate any outcome no matter how big or small it may be. Usually it is used to alter the probability of cards and dice in games of chance. However, if pressed enough, Isaac can alter the outcome of a bullet hitting him to even causing misfortune on others. Potentially, Isaac has the ability to control his fate and future. In plain terms, Isaac can cause events to happen or not to happen.

So, controlling your own fate is not easy. When Isaac uses his power it causes his body to hemorrhage. If it is something as simple as changing the outcome of dice or cards, it hardly affects Isaac. But something dramatic like altering the chance of getting shot at close range or altering the course of a vehicular accident will cause Isaac to bleed from his mouth, nose, and sometimes eyes. The damage done to Isaac depends on how dramatic he changes the probability of an event and the scale of the event itself.
Those near Isaac suffer the reverse of his probability manipulation. If the probability of an event increases in favor of Isaac, those around him will suffer a decrease in probability. The inverse is true. Is the probability of an event happening for Isaac decreases, those around him will suffer an increase in the probability of the event happening. You can say he drains the luck from everyone around him.
If the probability of an event happening is either 0% or 100%, it is impossible for Isaac to manipulate it. He is not able to bend the laws of reality itself. Everything he does is confined to the laws of physics.

Appearance

Isaac is a rather tall individual standing at 6'3 with brown hair kept at a mid fade and stubble growing all over his face evenly. His ears comically stick out at the sides and his eyes have a piercing glare many find uncomfortable. In reality, Isaac is not considered a handsome man by most. Doubled with his height, Isaac has a build of a man who has struggled for a living. He is on the lean side from constantly not having enough to eat and his eyes look worn and tired. He has small tattoos of the Roman numeral VII on his left wrist and a horseshoe on his right. His brand is located in the palm of his left hand.
Isaac tends to wear clothes that are typically unseen in his area of the woods. He tries his best to dress nice, though his clothes have obviously seen better days. The majority of the time, Isaac prefers to wear various shirts and ties with a light brown leather jacket, dark jeans, and steel-toe western boots that match the jacket. He also wears gloves to hide his brand. And if gloves are not on hand, he wraps his hands with cloth to mimic a hand injury.

Skills

Though he is not that intelligent compared to most, he can sneak his way in and out of dangerous situations verbally or physically. Though he cannot fish or hunt as well as his compatriots in Harlan, Isaac knows his way with a handgun. A skill that was earned the hard way. Because Isaac prefers to sneak his way out of dangerous situations, he is not a good fighter. Another useful skill Isaac has is mechanics, something earned with his fascination with vehicles. After all, his front yard is littered with broken vehicles.

Personality

As a conman, Isaac can change his disposition on the fly. However, his true self is very simple. All throughout his life, Isaac had to fend for himself. Thus, his natural state is very crude and rude. He is never courteous and is the exact opposite of nurturing. He only looks out for himself and everyone else is either a tool or a hindrance. It takes a lot to become a friend of Isaac, and the single friend he had was killed in a drug deal gone bad. But you can bet Isaac was as loyal as a dog to this person.
Because of the nature of his “job”, Isaac is in the habit of taking risks and is quite ambitious. Despite being self-controlled the majority of the time, sometimes an opportunity is too good to pass up. Isaac is very untrusting of everyone he meets and is a very dishonest man. An interesting fact is that Isaac feels sympathetic to many people, but that does not make him altruistic. Just the opposite, he will feel bad for you while saying “sucks to suck.”
Optimism is both a strong point and weak point of his. You can't be in the business of chance without believing in yourself and Lady Luck.

History

Isaac's misfortune began when he was born, destined to be a warrior of the streets. As a son of a prostitute, the boy lived his early life from the seclusion of his bedroom, and memorizing the numerous faces of the men that come and go from his home. His mother tried her best to keep her son away from the underbelly of the city, but when the entire town is Hell itself, it became impossible to keep pure from the corruption of the darkness in the hearts of man. Isaac spent many nights starving in the cold winter and scavenging for money in the dusty Harlan County streets. It was in the streets that Isaac learned his trade. It started with a pair of dice, upgraded into a pack of cards, soon Isaac had a whole collection of shell games and books detailing fight matches and dog fighting. By the time he turned fifteen, he was known around his block for being a traveling casino.
However, street gambling has its dangers. When people did not want to pay their debts, or if they felt cheated (and in many cases they were), they would come looking for Isaac. At sixteen Isaac joined a small time crime syndicate simply called The Six Four. With help from the 6-4, Isaac was able to protect himself and collect debts without much trouble. But he still kept himself armed at all times. His affiliation with the 6-4 came with consequences Isaac could not foresee. Those around him alienated him out of fear or simply did not want to affiliate with a gang member. This compounded a deep feeling of loneliness that grew like untamed weeds in the garden of his heart. The isolation ate away at him until he learned to seal himself away from all others except for his mother (whom he cares deeply for).
After he graduated from high school, his mother was killed in a home invasion in which Isaac was the intended target. Isaac was sent in a deep pool of despair, and on a wild Thursday night, he and a few members of the 6-4 went out in the morning twilight searching for heads. And they found their targets. It was known by some as the Bloody Morning or the Thursday War. But Isaac never fired a shot. Instead, he acted as a forward observer calling in locations and high value targets/areas for the 6-4. This proved to be fortunate for Isaac as well as his clean record when law enforcement became involved, Isaac was cleared from any involvement. He was considered an innocent bystander in such a violent mess.
He was there at Old Man Johnson's farm when shit hit the fan. With cards on the table and dice on hand, he slowly put together that his headaches were correlating with how badly he wanted the odds to be against his players. Isaac thought nothing of it until his luck turned around dramatically, and his body bled freely. Initially there was no worries from Isaac until Tillie Helton was killed. That was the wake up call he needed. Not even members of the 6-4 could, or would want to, protect him.
