The day was cold, dark and ominous. Big puffy rain clouds covered the academy's spiraling towers overhead. It certainly wasn't the best day for the new comers to come in. Rain always ment bad luck. But that didn't stop the old locomotive train from bringing in all the new students.
The windows fogged up with cold, rainy air hitting against the hot box car. Some students drew faces and pictures on the windows, while others studied their books to get ahead of everyone. It was quite hard, though, what with almost every student antsy to see who they bunk with and what classes they have.
After a long trip from the station, the train came to a slow stop. Everybody rushed out to take a look at the large campus up ahead. Professors and staff members greeted the students, giving them a map and their mandatory first year classes. They instructed each student to find an older one to mentor them for the first month of school. Just so they could get used to their new life style.
Ellie sat in her dorm room reading Magical Girls Monthly, one of her favorite magazines she waited for all month. She swooned at the famous witchs' biographies and their beautiful faces. Oh, how she wished to be as popular as the witches in the magazines and stories she was always told! But, of course, that will never happen.
She turned to the next page, beginning to read the article 'How to Find your Familiar', until suddenly, a rush of students, mostly younger ones, rushed down the hall, screaming and messing around like they weren't supposed to. She groaned. There goes her quiet time. Though she should probably go out and greet the newbies.
