Been playing off and on, here and there, for ... a while. I'm not sure what the average age is around here (or how many of you are comfortable discussing such things) but I'm about to turn 30 and I first ventured into this scene as a teen (yay rhymes). I'm old, bitter, and broken now, but I can type up some whimsy, I tell you what. Or some good old-fashioned angst and dark desires. I'm fairly flexible.
Where was I ... right, the resume. Let's see now: I started off in forums and later had a moderately successful career in a virtual world that shall not be named. I've recently begun to try my hand at D&D over on Roll20 and it's been a blast so far. Still, no matter where I go, I feel myself pulled back to the freedom of the forums. I have broadened my gaming interests quite a bit over the years--the aforementioned oldest of old school, an MMO, and JRPGs have rounded things out nicely--but I miss the freedom and adventure of swapping paragraphs over forums. It's been too long.
So here I am. A grizzled old vet, come back to the fold. Well, I suppose it's technically a new fold, since I'm just now registering on this site. But hey, you get the idea. You're a clever lot (or so my lurking tells me).
I’ll close with a short list covering my basic preferences/style. If you want to know more, just ask! I’m awful at intros, never know if I’m saying too much or too little or covering the wrong ground all together, so …. Yeah. Hi. Play with me.
Jay’s Quick Stats:
- Style: Casual to Advanced
- Genres: Historical, sci-fi, noir, fantasy
- The best romance is complicated
- Action and combat are cool but I'm not as good at writing them out and stuff gets a bit wonky
- I’m most active weekday afternoons and weekends
- 1x1 and small groups work best for me
- I can play either gender and relationships can be any pairing
(for some reason, my guys are usually evil jerks and my girls are always good)
