Well, well now, Concieted Individual. Now that I've lured you in with flattery, I shall subjugate thee into reading through my proper introduction! Evil Laughter Booms & Lighting Strikes In The Background
When it comes to the basics my name's Tiye. I've been role-playing on & off again for about 3 years now; originally with a few close friends, chat rooms here & there, but I mostly stuck with creative writings of my own. Now I'm looking for more of a community. Some things about me: I'm a Black, 17 year old, agenderflux (they/she pronouns) teen who errs on the side of nerdship, and enjoys long walks by the beach. I've also been known to have a penchant for humor, but I don't know who started that vile rumor. If you find them, they're wanted dead or alive.
Now that we're better acquainted, I'll explain my Roleplaying Strengths, Weaknesses, Preferences, & Aversions below. Just look out for the bolded and underlined text if you aren't up for reading it all. The rest is just flavortext.
·STRENGTHS·
- Emotional Detail: I'd like to (arrogantly) pride myself on being quite in depth with whatever my character is feeling, their motivations, and insecurities. As such, I tend spend a lot of time working out my character's psychology and conveying that compellingly. I staunchly believe a Story is nothing but its characters. So vying for top priority for me will always be Having Fun VS! Emotional Depth! BEGIN! No, but really, they're more like Regent & Heir. The former guides the latter & holds things down, but the latter has the real power.
- Improvisation: While I'm invested in figuring out behavioral patterns most of my ideas are inspired, and then expanded & transformed like the Patron Catapiller Saint of Creativity expects of me. So give me prompts and a few scattered thoughts, and I can usually hand you a concept merged from other bits I've collected in my 16 years of wasting my life in front of screens & pages. I'm very reactive.
·WEAKNESSES·
- Proactivity: I'll admit I'm not the best at starting conversations, and much rather prefer to respond to things, rather than try to provoke said thing unless particularly inspired. Same goes for exploring, and starting scenes. I can do a lengthy introduction of my character and how they show up in the setting, but I heavily rely on other characters or situations to approach & inspire me first more often than not.
- Combat Scenes: I've never really had any experience in writing them. I'm sure I could manage just fine writing them alone, but I've never roleplayed one. So any tips would be appreciated :)
Looks like it's time for the FUN(and not so fun) stuff!
·PREFERENCES·
- Fantasy: Magic, Myths, & Medieval Times, etc. Triple Alliteration, cuz triple the fun.
- Intrigue/Mystery: Politics, Spies, Feudal Court, Mystery.
- Sci-Fi/Superpowers: Villains, Heroes, Aliens, Space.
- Horror/Thrillers/Crime: Monsters, Survival, People That Go Bump In The Night
·AVERSIONS·
- Military: Unless it features a preference of mine, I'm just not into all the whole hardcore patriotism.
- Slice of Life/Sports: UNLESS IT'S 1x1 !
- Pure Comedy: I'm all for comedic escapism, but I'd rather turn to Tumblr for that.
