By how your question was worded, it looked like you were asking for verification on the existence of psionics and telepaths based on someone else's post farther back in the thread. I didn't see any such post, hence my confusion.

To answer your question, no. At least, I don't think so.

My WIP nation. Many of my characters will be explorers and mercenaries from the Commonwealth ranging out into the stars.

Capital Planet: Haven

Head of State: Head Ministers Lady Athena and *Architect
Head of Government: Empress Helena Greywind
Head of Military: Grand Admiral of the Fleet Lord Markus Tyran
Population: Approx 5 billion Mithras, 20 billion biosynths and AI’s.

Mithras: A slender, elven species. On average standing around six feet tall. The prevailance of commercial body-modding means skin color, hair color, height, even apparent age skew wildly from individual to individual. In general, the longer the hair the older a person is, and the more elaborate the hairstyle the more senior they are.

Biosynths: Artificially created subspecies of Mithras or copycats of other minor species they have absorbed into the Dominion. Obedient and communal servants, soldiers, slaves, and laborers of a hundred kinds. They tend to be shorter and less elegant than the highborn natural Mithras.

AIs: Artificial Intelligence (although courts debate rebranding them as synthetic intelligence) make up a major minority of the Dominion’s servant population. Most are low-level entities focused on singular tasks, while a few are high-level minds spanning an entire star system. Or in the case of *Architect, the whole empire. Dominion AI’s add a (*) to the front of their names in text to clearly differentiate themselves from organics in text-comms. As a whole, they are highly intelligent, but tend to lack personal innovation or initiative with a few exceptions.

History: WIP

In a nutshell: a society of natural-born people ruling over a nation of artificial creations after a major civil war, now out to expand and explore the stars to further their own horizons to repair and replace their damaged empire.

Alright...

Looks like I've got to clear up a couple major issues. First all, no space magic. This includes psychics, telepathy, and all that. In addition, mucking with time travel and teleportation isn't going to happen either, or a million and a half different reasons. Also, if it has no feasible explanation at all, it might be time to switch ideas. A more clear banlist will come out with the OOC.

Also, space pirates! A lot of us are right. Space pirates in and of themselves CAN ply the space routes, pillaging the little guy. However, good luck surviving an attack on a strong, large faction with well-defended borders. Also, be aware that you'll be always be hunted like an unwanted, wild animal. As for a space pirate NATION... You're simply asking for someone to come attack you -- no, begging for someone to come attack you. Most established factions hate piracy, as it is not conducive to good order in the galaxy, never mind their own faction. As for space CRIMINALS, that's perfectly fine on any level. However, they require quite a lot of finesse to write, so if you're not up to the task, I suggest you abandon the idea.

Also, NPCs... Their creation is encouraged. However, be aware that they are assumed NOT to exist until an NPC NS is put up. You can make any number of NPC factions for the setting. Just be aware that they are not in your control, and can get messed up at any time in the RP.

More details will be there when the OOC is (finally) up.

If you're willing, that would be great. It would be confusing to have two nations referred to as "The Commonwealth", and I've gotten into a habit of referring to mine that way.

Definitely love me some Harrington, it might poke through a bit when I get my NS up. Some things are just too neat not to borrow from.

Alright, it's really common even in the real world for more than one nation to have the word "Commonwealth" proudly displayed in its name. I personally don't see any problems with a nation sharing an element of a name with someone else. Just use the name your people are normally called every now and then to differentiate between the two. Also, I personally can also tell what Commonwealth is being talked about when its owner posts about them. It's not too confusing from my own perspective, really...

After some lengthy discussion with some of the others (over Skype), it was decided that the Military section was not needed. Instead, you can simply list the various technologies your ships possess in the last section, which is exclusively devoted to technology of all kinds.

In other news, the OOC is very close to completion.
