Born to Hoshidan royalty, Orinda picked up the shuriken at a young age and decided that in order to protect those closest to her, she would need to be proactive and not rely on those around her. She and her siblings get along well though she and her mother, have a somewhat strained relationship as Mikoto would prefer her to focus more on traditional hobbies as opposed to combative ones.

History:

He and his sister traveled from their kingdom, Valla, as soon as they both turned 16. Philonius elected to infiltrate the kingdom of Nohr while his sister went to aid Hoshido. Philonius had decided to approach the castle under the guise of a butler. The castle was always looking for help and although they could do no background check on Philonius or his origins, they found him to be polite, tidy and skilled in combat, should the castle be seized. The man went on to work at Castle Krakenburg for ten years, watching and waiting for the sign to strike.

Personality:
A bit bull-headed and willful at times, but Faye is usually gentle and accepting. In possession of an overwhelmingly positive outlook and an idealistic, almost naive, sense of morality, her general attitude passively encourages those around her.

While prodigy is a tall order to fill, it is true that Faye can generally remember most of what she sees, but her memory isn't perfect nor is she a genius. Between her own talents and having grown up around well-educated people, her perception has been skewed to expect an unrealistic level of competence from everyone. Despite this, she is never intentionally condescending and is more than willing to teach others what she knows.

Talents and Shortcomings:
Faye has few problems picking up new skills and generally excels at whatever she applies herself to. However, to maintain a level of excellence requires constant practice.

Personality:
A rough upbringing in a cutthroat town has squeezed much of the humanity out of Amos. The trauma left him unable to navigate his way through social encounters like normal person. All too familiar with the horrors of violence, he took the field of battle as a sellsword and made his home on the road. Despite his calm demeanor, he is somewhat wild and unpredictable, often resorting to violence as a means to an end.

His intimidating physique and black-and-white outlook often leads people to believe he is a muscle-brained simpleton. In reality, he is a deeply conflicted individual.

Outwardly, Amos seems to know right from wrong, but follows whatever path is most convenient for him. However, that moral sense is something he lacks, but aspires to cultivate. The reason he gravitates towards his current employer, Faye, is that he recognizes as morally upright; particularly, he uses her as his own moral compass; and through her, he vicariously reconnects with a part of himself he once thought was lost.

Even if he weren't being paid, he'd likely still follow his righteous employer.

Talents and Shortcomings:
Keen intuition and an apparent damaged capacity for empathy make Amos useful as mercenary, but a very poor diplomat. He believes its much more effective to leverage someone's self-interest than appeal to their better nature. In practice, he can read people easily and sense their intentions, but finds difficulty in "doing the right thing".

Hopes and Fears:
His greatest hope and greatest fear are inextricably linked.
For someone like him, he fears its all too easy to become the kind of remorseless monster seen lurking in dark alleys and bloodying themselves on the field of battle. He doesn't want to lose what little humanity he has left, and will fight to keep it.

Sorscha can be easily described with one word:

Shrewd.

Not the type to mince words or quote eloquent prose, Sorscha has very direct--and sometimes abrasive--manner of addressing others and has no problems speaking her mind. She prizes efficiency and personal growth, and maintains a regular training schedule like clockwork.
But, underneath the facade of a servile knight is an intelligent and calculating mind. She makes a point to determine people's interests and goals, and has little patience for gossip. She tends to keep a measured distance from strangers and insipid court ladies. Trained in court etiquette from a young age, she knows when she can speak and when to stay silent, and has excellent control over her expressions. Her poker face has slowly come to have a reputation of its own.

Talents and Shortcomings:
Having grown up in a noble family filled with ministers and government officials, she has keen understanding into how they think and the nature of politics. She relies on her experiences and intuition to judge the character of those she meets, but is sometimes too quick to offer harsh criticism. Regardless, her assessments are always insightful.
It's no mystery why she serves as both a bodyguard to Prince Kaspar and as his personal aide.

Hopes and Fears:
Although she would never admit it, she harbors an unrequited affection for her liege lord and charge Prince Kaspar. Born from too low of a family to be eligible as his legal wife, Sorscha became a knight so she can at least remain by his side and keep him safe.

Personality:
To the world, Theomars maintains the mask of a charming, handsome man of marriageable age and significant wealth. Amiable and full of fascinating stories, he seems to be the kind of person everyone wants to be around. To him, however, its just a means to an end. While he believes its better to be loved and respected, he'll gladly settle for being feared and regarded with terror.

Despite a cocky and playful attitude, in private, he ruthlessness and cunning become plain to see. While he is surprisingly loyal to his friends and allies, he does make a point to keep most of them at arm's length, just in case.

Talents and Shortcomings:
Its effortless for him to read people's intentions and leverage their self-interests. Rather, that's a necessary skill to survive in commerce. He's always so certain he knows how people act, and while he assessments are quite accurate, even he can be taken by surprise.
Perhaps he's become somewhat jaded by "business as usual" as he finds altruism and random acts of charity very strange, despite having done those very things himself.

Hopes and Fears:
His immediate goal is to end the long war and ensure both he and his associates prosper afterwards. He's determined to make the world a safe place to live again. However, despite his rhetoric, he refuses to take to the front lines and diligently assists his allies at a distance.

History:
The Ghellant name belongs to a deposed noble family of Nestra. They had an long and prestigious lineage, but had fallen in status due to persistent financial hardship. Theomars, as the second youngest of six siblings, had few prospects, so he worked through various administrative apprenticeships from a young age. When he was thirteen, the crown finally called in his family's outstanding debt, and the honor of his house finally collapsed to ruin. At the time, he had the good fortune of being favored by his employer, Nestra's Master of Coin.
However, with his family name tarnished and the heads of his clan being openly ridiculed, he continued his apprenticeship elsewhere under the tutelage of a man named Ulric Tharn, an inveterate haggler and successful merchant.
Under him, Theomars really began to make a name for himself as a cunning businessmen capable of outmaneuvering his rivals at market. He grew into a competent merchant in his own right within the next few years.

However, it wasn't until he met his current partner, Vera, that his empire truly began to expand. When he first found her for sale at a trading post, no one paid any mind to the blind, beastkin slave. Her previous owner was frantically trying to sell her off, presumably unsatisfied with having a cripple for a servant. Unsurprisingly, no one else seemed to want her either.
Theomars saw her as a bargaining chip to use against the local wolfskin brigands harassing his caravans, so he bought her without much further thought. He was in for a rude awakening, however, when he came to to discover she was a pariah to her own kin as well. As Vera explained, the beast tribes had no interest in keeping the blind and feeble around, and regarded them with scorn. But, Vera knew of a few safe trails and remembered their locations by smell alone. Although skeptical at first, Theomars invested in his new servant's knowledge and was able to travel through hostile beast tribe territory without being accosted.

Vera ultimately proved to be his most treasured servant. She demonstrated a nigh-supernatural sense for discerning lies, and knew how to help steer his caravan away from bandit attacks from scent alone.

Theomars knew talent when he saw it and treated her well. In fact, he still receives ridicule on occasion for dressing a slave girl in the expensive finery of noble women. He personally tutored her in matters of finance and economics, eventually grooming her into his business partner. He offered to adopt the Vera into his family, and remove the magical brand that enslaved her to his will. Strangely, the blind girl rejected him, merely stating she "preferred to be underestimated". He formally adopted her into his family anyway, and though he has no need or desire to keep her branded as a slave, her magic seal remains.

The two troublemakers have been inseparable since.

Now, with the long war taking heavy tolls on once thriving trade routes and caravans being raided by the state, Theomars and Vera have begun instigating unrest and distrust towards the monarchs of Hoshido and Nohr. The war has become very bad for business and must end, else every commoner and noblemen will be taxed into an early grave.

Kaspar considers himself to be something of a sorry excuse for a human being, and in a way this is an accurate assessment. The necessity of emotional repression acting as an unwanted constant in his life has undoubtedly stunted his personal development and left him little more than a burned out shell of a man. He hasn’t done something he’s wanted to do himself for quite a long time, and lives with an almost perpetual anxiety over his future and an envy towards those he sees as possessing greater potential than himself.

In a sense, he is a thoughtful person - if only because he’s always thinking about how he needs to act in any given situation. Unsurprisingly, this makes him quite awkward with his emotions and unfiltered socialization in general. Generally speaking though, he doesn’t like to talk overmuch in the first place; he kind of just silently glowers at people most of the time, especially when he sees something that offends his sensibilities, and it often takes a deal of prodding or proximity to get him to actively socialize with an individual beyond what courtesy demands.

He is the one who sleeps the least in the army.

Talents and Shortcomings:

The vast majority, if not all, of Kaspar's predominant talents and shortcomings both stem from the same set of sources: his extreme personal discipline. While this fastidious nature of his is largely responsible for ensuring the standard of excellency he upholds himself to and his success in the cutthroat Nohrian royal court, it is also responsible for the development of a myriad of his more personal issues, notably his chronic overextension of energy and inability to properly connect with others.

Hopes and Fears:

Tired, overworked and (by his reckoning) underappreciated, if there's anything that Kaspar is hoping for, it would be a nice, long nap. And that's all. He doesn't really want or expect the opportunity for a lot more than that, nor does he want to abdicate his position; such an act would render his own and others' sacrifices meaningless. Because of this belief, he is deathly afraid of failing to live up to his assigned role - even if he doesn't really want to - or being surpassed by any of his siblings. Another thing he worries about is becoming too much like his own father: a hard man capable of increasing moral compromise to ensure the survival of his people.
