Her house. He was living there rent free for years. (cause duh, he's her kid) and she asked him to cover the utility, he said yes, then he stopped paying, his credit went to shit, everything got shut off, and she had to pay because they were in her name...
I honestly don't understand how it all worked out...

Ah. When Law clashes with Morality. Dayum, that really sucks for the mum. Looks like Cara's learning new tricks now... To mitigate troubles like that later. :)

Now then, back to contemplating about what pets I should get...

What pets you want?
I'm a cat person with two dogs, though one has catlike characteristics. ^^

I also want another fighter fish. My last one committed suicide..

I'm thinking of a cat... But my mum thinks they're the minions of Satan and I can't contain myself from laughing because of it. I said to her that I wanted a nice and loving house cat, and preferably Siam cat. I also don't mind dogs, but I like big dogs like Huskies. I double checked for their characteristics, apparently they are very difficult to train for a beginner.

Huskies are hard headed XD
Cats are minions of Satan, but they're hysterical. I love cats and all their weird ways. Cat videos are all that make me giggle uncontrollably. XD
But if I got one, my husband would die. So. *shrug*

Do more research into dogs that are good with first time trainers. google dogs101. The discovery channel in the US does little episodes on tons of dog breeds, and give infor about health, care, and living conditions.

I'm going to get a report gecko one of these days and name him Douglas. Do not joke he would sit on my shoulder and nap while I write to you guys . And when he gets big enough let him play on my desk chasing meal worms. Did I forget he would be called Douglas.
Oh and my mom's allergic to cats and hamsters and rodents but not dogs cause she had like 12.

Maybe I should be glad that I have no allergy towards pet fur. I can own all kinds of pets I want without dying. :3

I suppose that should help. Thanks for giving me a tip, and I'll be looking for one when I am no longer with them (as in, when I move out, not when I... Nevermind). Dogs101. One in the book.

Best kind of big dog to get is a Labrador Retriever... Easy to train, comparatively easy to keep clean, keep tidy, as well as reasonably resistant...

Small dog... don't really do small dogs. Their incessant yipyipyipping just isn't for me. If a cat... depends on your taste, really. You can't train cats.

Can so. I trained my cat ;P She came when called with a certain call, and she played fetch and stuff.
Yes the the labrador thing, too.

Also, my yorkie is relatively quiet for a small dog. Beside the weird noises he makes when he plays with the Schnauzer. The bigger boy makes more noise ;P

Morning all- can only agree that Labradors are the best option. There's a reason they are the worlds most popular breed to own. I love my golden retriever but not everyone loves the amount of fur she sheds. A note about smaller breeds though- Staffordshire bull terriers are very good family dogs and while small, are good, strong breeds who are protective of the pack which would be you if you are in danger. They will lock on and not let go of anyone who tries to hurt you. Train them right, which isn't hard and you'd have a great, loving, friendly pet

All dogs have the risk of being vicious and some don't get on well with other dogs. This is because they haven't been socialised enough which is an important factor to having a well rounded dog

You can't train a Cat. You can call them, yes, but they come expecting food. Call them enough times without food, and they won't come anymore....

Actually, scientifically.... Cats are becoming more like dogs in terms of wanting to please their owners. Later generations of cats are becoming more sociable and wanting human approval more
