Current status: Open again!
This time I am going to put the plot before the rules just because this is quite a specific request and might not appeal to many of you out there, it saves you reading the rules when you might not even be interested. =]
The Plot
So all in all this RP will be an adventure in space likely faring across dozens of wonderful and unique planets, Earth is till very much there and for the most part it's like our world except their are indeed heroes and villains with powers though it's not likely we will be spending much time there. To start off there is this raced who are called the Viltrumites, think Superman if he was a warrior-like conqueror but without his weaknesses or his heat vision, breath, x-ray and all that jazz. Though they do still fly. I would like to keep their backstory the same as it is in the canon lore, many years ago on their home planet of Viltrum there was an event they named "The Purging" in which all of the stronger Viltrumites killed off the weaker ones. So only the strongest really survived and then they set their eyes upon the planets around them. At the very least this is what I'd like to keep in the story.
This next part can be discussed though I think I'd like this portion to stay as well though it's certainly not set in stone. One of their kind, Thaedus turned against his own kind and helped create a coalition known as the Coalition of Planets which includes many different alien species who oppose the Viltrumites. They eventually make a virus synthesised from Thaedus' blood and it was unleashed on their home planet wiping out 99,9% of their race in one fell swoop. It would be known thereafter as the scourge virus. This link is a great read for the Viltrumites and all you'll really need to know about the Invincible world since the rest is of our own making!
Okay so that's an overview of the race, now my character himself is a Viltrumite but during the purging he fought for the side that were being culled by the most powerful of their kind, of course they lose but he manages to escape and is on the run from them his entire life until the scourge virus is released and kills most of them off.
Now you're character is pretty damn open! There are a few choices I'll present to you but it is by no means a definitive list so please don't think you can't suggest your own ideas to me, please do if you have any. The first one is that she herself is a Viltrumite (if I had to say this would likely be my preference) and our characters could've known each other when they were younger, maybe fought together during the purging or perhaps against one another she had different views than he did. Just one way this could go. I don't have much else for other races but there is human/human with powers, an alien, some sort of android... for the most part I think that's pretty much it. I'd prefer to not have anything magical but again, just speak to me because I'm pretty easy-going as you'll find if you contact me. =]
As for different plot ideas, there are just so many! Perhaps my character is captured by the Coalition of Planets and your character is one of its members, he has to try and prove his usefulness and that he isn't an insane killer like the other Viltrumites. Though there won't be many Viltrumites left if we go down the Scourging route, there will still be between 50-100 so still enough to threaten the entire galaxy if I'm honest because they tend to send a small number (usually 2) to subjugate a full planet. So my character will be trying to remain hidden from both them and the Coalition, so there's that. I know there's more but my brain isn't working as well right now so I'd love to just bounce ideas back and forth with a potential partner.
Rules
- I consider myself a casual to high-casual, on occasion I can dip my toes into the advanced pool when the time calls for it or I am particularly motivated. So on average 300-500 words and I ask the same from my partner or at least there abouts.
- I certainly prefer good spelling and grammar but it's not a deciding factor for me in the end.
- I try my best to post once a week and more if possible, I will also notify my partner if I suddenly become bus or unable to post. I hope for the same in return!
- Communication IS key, let's talk and have fun yeah? If you're going to be busy or absent for a while please let me know and I'll show you the same courtesy. I'm fed up of people just vanishing, please don't just abandon me with not so much as a simple message. It means a lot to me.
- This RP will contain mature themes so please be at least 18 years of age, the usual violence/gore, language, sex and other topics will likely crop up... some more than others. I'm not asking it to be mature content all the time but I just like to keep my options open.
- Let's both carry the weight of this plot and not let one of us do the heavy lifting, it's for the best!
On the topic of violence, this comic is well known for being rather extreme but I think it's realistic for what someone with Superman-like powers could do to another being. Now I'm not saying we have to be that graphic or that it's going to happen every two posts, just that when it does we don't tone it down for the sake of our eyes so I'd really like a partner who is okay with that. And if they like the violent side of it, well bring it on! You can just type "invincible comic" into google images and you'll see what I mean. ^_^
Another point is that this will have quite the high power level, so ideally I'd like to play against a character who won't be left out during conflicts and scenarios in which they might die in an instant.
I won't lie, I do love romance in my RP's since I think it adds that extra layer of complications and it's fun in my opinion! So all I rally ask if that you are open to the idea of it happening and if you're also a fan of it then all the better. =3
