@JackHasAShotgun, Nipton got wiped out by a cyclone started by Father Elijah, who has taken over Big MT and forced the Think Tank to build him a weather machine. He is also starting storms and abnormal weather phenomena all over the Wasteland, and flooded Cottonwood Cove before attacking it with BoS troops.
