Not way too much to explain here that the title hasn't.

The basic concept is to form an open world where participants can roleplay multiple characters. They can be fair leaders of a large nation, or the subjects under said rule. They can be ruthless warlords hellbent on conquest, or the damned souls they send off to battle. They can be adventurers with open minds and free hearts, barbarians from a distant land, or mages in search of refuge after some unspeakable event.

However, everyone is fragile. A legend can end with a dull knife in the back. A criminal can be executed in the town square. Illness can be a silent killer.

Once a character perishes, their soul is lost from this realm. If one participant slits another's throat for little more than their coinpurse, then they don't have to worry about revenge characters being introduced.

While I'm working on more complex rules to work with this, I just wanted to hear if anyone is interested.

EDIT: Boat is in pre launch! Here is the OOC Discord. It wouldn't be me if it wasn't a work in progress.

This seems interesting. I would join. Since this is obviously fantasy being that mages are in it, are humans the only race playable? And those nations you can lord over; are they all pseudo European nations or can someone get creative like having Aztec nations, or Arab, Japanese, Tibetan, or what have you?

How do you intend to balance the myriad magical abilities so that generic wizards don't pull multiple immunities out of their buttocks on a regular basis?

I'm interested. I usually play my dimension-invading warlord, but i might change it up. Possibly a mundane nobody

Okay, so my apologies for not getting back to everyone in a reasonable timeframe. Real life, right? (Who am I kidding, I don't have a life)

This seems interesting. I would join. Since this is obviously fantasy being that mages are in it, are humans the only race playable?

Nope. Obviously, I wouldn't be surprised if it's predominantly human, but (within reasonable restrictions) anything sentient is welcome.

And those nations you can lord over; are they all pseudo European nations or can someone get creative like having Aztec nations, or Arab, Japanese, Tibetan, or what have you?

If you want to lord over a nation (or just have it exist as a point of origin for later use in your character's arc), you're more than welcome to design it as you see fit. I love me some pseudoeuro nations, myself, but I'm not barring off possibilities for anyone.

How do you intend to balance the myriad magical abilities so that generic wizards don't pull multiple immunities out of their buttocks on a regular basis?

That is a good question. The way I see there, there's two ways to go about it; forcing people who want to use mages to follow a strict set of guidelines (further sleep deprivation on my end to develop that), or the people who want to use mages can determine what is appropriate and what is not. Obviously, the latter puts a lot of trust in the idea that people will manage to behave. What direction we go with it may depend on public demand, and/or how many mages we end up with.

With that being said, I'd be more than happy to accept help developing rules and whatnot if we do want to implement those.

I'm interested. I usually play my dimension-invading warlord, but i might change it up. Possibly a mundane nobody

regarding the powerful magic users, I say go with the latter. You might get the one guy (usually me) who tries to have alls da powerz, but a quick OOC reprimand from multiple players or a PM from the GM to keep it on the DL cuz he know he done F'ed up would work. A continual abuse of the power (probably more of a personality issue with the player than an IC or RP issue) could just result in asking him or her to leave. But i doubt we would get that far. So in short, the second one, but that's just my view.

To be honest, since I've been back to RP (been gone a long time), most of the issues I've found havent been with character devevlopment, but with RPers OOC.

You read my mind!

Not only does it make it easier for me (since I don't have to create a ruleset just for magic), but it makes things flow better in for everyone.

Correct. Well, seeing as the interest is definitely here, I should probably get to work.
