My question is how is the best way to generate people to an rpg? What makes a successful RGP besides it being set in a world someone understands? Why do some falter to the waste side? I am wanting to start I few and want to get on the right foot,
Ps Hhave read the rules an I know that it mentions some things.

But from my experience, a lot of it is in how you present your idea. In a way, think of it like submitting a resume of sorts; it should be eye catching, easy to follow visually, and outline exactly what the game's about, what's being offered, and what's expected. One thing that's very important is that the GM appears to be confident and as a GM, that you believe wholly in your ability to run the game and that you can put together a story. Plan it out before hand! I can't stress that enough; try to work out the plot and what you want to happen, NPCs, and write it all down. Definitely figure out what kind of game you want to run, and how much control players have over what happens. You don't want to stifle player creativity and choice, but you also want to keep them moving down the story's path and you need to be to adapt to stuff you didn't anticipate.

One VERY important thing that I notice is a common trend in all the long-lasting games is a healthy OOC where people feel comfortable with one another and can just goof around and have fun. The more people get to know each other and feel like they belong in a game, they're much more likely to remain in a game. Have a sense of humour, keep engaged with your players, and definitely listen to them!

Overall, the best thing you can do is prepare the game well in advance and believe in what you're doing. It's very obvious when somebody makes an RP on a whim, and a lot of times, that ends in failure because the GM loses interest or doesn't really know where to go once the initial excitement dies off.

Derv u write some of the better oocs. He helped me with one of mine at the old guild, and because of his help, his push in the right direction, it took off! I had a good 5 or 6 people take interest in the very same idea that had failed a week before talking to Dervish here. He knows what he's talking about!

I have an rp ooc I wouldn't mind u rating on a scale to 10 Dervish, just to see what you'd think of it. I've gotten enough members, I'd just honestly like your op and any ideas where it could've been improved. A good ooc is arguably the most important factor for getting an rp started! Mind if i pm u the link?

That's a very subjective question. You can make your OOC section sparkle and market the hell out of it, but it will still come down to the individual. Much like my digital photography, I can have them on display for what seems like forever, until that "right" person comes for that particular piece. The same applies to roleplay. Another thing to understand, is that a low percentage of roleplays have a significantly long shelf life. Check out those guides and make the roleplay that interests you, and the rest is up to the population.

I like what you said I will have to work on my plot and stuff I tend to be a whim person. As of having a lose plot and knowing the over all conlusion I want. I think of it as creating it self but interactions of other.
I would love if you could look at my idea.
Commander thanks I will have to keep that in mind. It's hard when you think some thing is good and then people discredit it.

Your goal is to create a place where people can enjoy their selves for an extended period of time. This may seem obvious, but it's something we all tend to forget in favour of far less important things. How do people have fun? Well some like intricate storylines and deep character development, others take more joy from badass fighting scenes and forbidden romances. To answer your question, you have to detail what you are looking to create and for what audience it's intended.
