So, we'd need a hacker, to circumvent the AI security, if it is indeed a simple AI, we'd need the location of the graviton drive, and I think we can kill the engineers with our assassin. So if someone were to be a hacker (*cough cough* Me *cough cough*) we should be able to pull it off okay, though the graviton drive would be a priority. Also, with MIMIC we could have our assassin move around as one of the engineers.

Hmmm, though I see our assassin doesn't have mimic...

@Ryougu Certainly an idea. It would probably be easiest to just find a console and steal the data when it uploads to the network, fooling it into thinking it's going where its supposed to, whereas, in reality, it goes straight to the ENDGAME. The engineers likely won't be able to fight off even an noncombat-oriented thief. The main issue would just be if the patrolling marines are on that side of the ship when we infiltrate.

Only the dice will determine that.

@GuntherOh, bear in mind, of course, the penetrative capability of the .338 is outdone by the .50 BMG and the Cheytac .480 . .338 Lapua, I believe is more anti-personnel than anti-material, right?

I'm not looking for an Anti-Material Rifle caliber weapon such as the .50 BMG or even the .480. All I need is an anti-personnel weapon. The current adaptations of the .338 Lapua are as follows:

Barrett Model 98B bolt action rifle with a 10-round magazine
Savage 110 BA bolt action rifle with 5-round magazine
FNH Ballista bolt action rifle with 8-round magazine
Armalite AR-30A1 bolt action rifle with 5-round magazine

Bolt action rifles are much more accurate than gas operated versions. This discussion is more pedantic/edifying than productive. She will not carry this rifle on any raids where she needs to infiltrate stealthily into a ship such as our current operation. If a future op calls for support fire she would have it available. But sword, dagger or an SMG as back up would be sufficient for the current op. Unless, yes of course she is to fill a ranged role in support.

@Ryougu don't take on too many roles. Allow others to fill those needed positions. I intentionally did not take mimic for this reason. There are other classes best suited for that role.

Actually, I had him pitched a versatility build already. Also, I don't think many sets are as suited to Mimic as assassins.

@GuntherOh, I was just clarifying. It's also quite plausible for our assassin to enter through the garbage chute, take out the two engineers quietly, then have @Ryougu disguise himself as one of the engineers, run to the corridor, and lead the marines to the cargo bay, where, if we time it just right, our entering mech could shoot them all out into space upon decompression as it tears through the airlock. Our thief could then hack the data while it uploads, and we've taken out a significant force with no issue, while our assassin deactivates life support.

@GuntherAlso, a weapon like her rifle could be a seriously lethal hazard if she held down the long, straight central corridor from a hidden position. Unless, of course, she chooses to leave it behind.

The brighter the light, the bigger the shadow cast by it, this is also very true about civilization. "John" grew up in the slums, in the shadow of the big, bright city. "John" wasn't always John, he was raised under a different name that even he doesn't remember now. John's parents died of disease in the poor living envrionment, something the city would consider absurd, but was more than common in the slums. Growing up in the slums, John had to learn all sorts of things in order to make ends meet.

After a few years of living on the streets, John had honed his "engineering" skills. He did some shady jobs to get money, which he'd rather not speak about. For one of these jobs, though, he had to learn how to hack, which he eventually did. This proved to be a rather useful skill, as he managed to fake himself an expired ID, which he used to get a legitimate ID under one of the most generic names in America; John Smith. He followed several health studies and developed his skills as a doctor.
