‘At the very edge of the Empire the scum of the galaxy flock together. Like the filth of the ocean washing up ashore. Koda station is such a place, or maybe one of those rare places in the ocean where all the currents bring all the wretched and decrepit things. A place you’d never know was there unless you stumbled upon it. Colonists from the surrounding planets come there for the inner ring markets, they’re decent, hardy, suspicious folk. They mingle with the pirates and smugglers, that use Koda station as repair station, safe haven and a place to sell their goods. Then there is everyone else, that just tries to get by, probably wanted by one organization or the other. As for me, I come there for the fighting pit.’ Rickar Tallek- marshall of the ‘Koda Krayts’ colony.
Welcome to this thread,
As to be read above I plan on making a sandboxy roleplay focussed on a single location: Koda Station.
I intend to give you a large amount of freedom in governing your own NPC encounters, the OOC will include descriptions about most ‘factions’ intents and so on. Central in this roleplay will be the Empire slowly increasing their presence in the system, a mcguffin that I won’t spoil yet, and some rebel stuff all going on at once. It’s an adaptation of an edge of the Empire campaign I am writing for a group of friends and I hope that it will be a nice opportunity for me to flesh out my NPC’s while at the same time providing interesting roleplay (and maybe steal some NPC’s from you to use on the tabletop:p).
Let me know if you are interested, than I will flesh this out more!
"Dark and light go hand in hand, to indulge themselves on only one half is foolish."

Her skin is a greenish-yellow color with a pink tint to her face as well as her eyes being a bright blue.

@Lunar Cool to see it already so fleshed out. Only thing I haven't mentioned is that the story will roughly be playing at somewhere in the time between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back. Being a (grey)jedi in this period is very dangerous and you'll need to have a good explanation as to how you escaped the purge/ learned the large set of skills. Though I have a feeling you do :p
@Ulstermann Cool to see an Imperial character as well, I wont have this start in the middle of action probably, so if you are interested you can represent a larger part of the Empire's presence there in the system if you want (get controll of a set of NPC's etc.)
Legends or Canon? My one concern is that already there is a person with abilities that not even the greatest masters like Yoda, Mace, Sidious or even the chosen one possess.
@Ulstermann We'd still have to check how and what with any other potential players but:
A note I took for my campaign slightly adjusted. You might want to check how you relate to this character then, maybe he has relegated responsability of Koda Station to a group or something?
Captain Retirus: The Empire’s presence in the sector is enforced by a small fleet of Arquitens-class cruisers together with a support detail of Gozanti’s and carriers. Retirus is the head of this fleet and has little to report to. The sector Governor is far-away and cares little if quotas are met and so Retirus is formidably corrupt, and out for his own riches. Most recently he has blatantly taken control of some of the Doonium veins on the planet of Lutrillia. Though bad for revenue for those involved in the trade of this precious metal it has a silver lining for some others. The trade is heavily protected by large parts of Retirus’s fleet which in turn makes the privateering and smuggling in the sector more viable. This self-serving attitude has drawn the ire of a few other representatives of Imperial power in the sector.
Well yeah it could be. The character I have in mind, Major Tom Hartmann, is a dedicated and driven officer, so he wouldn't be involved in any corruption. Perhaps he could be the leader of a detachment of Stormtroopers deployed to the station?
@Ulstermann Or how would you feel about an ISB officer that is at odds with Retirus about the current 'allocation of resources' so to speak :p. Leading the detachment of stormtroopers on Koda station (which will only be something like 24 of them) might be cool as well.
Awesome to see another one of your SW adventures, @frapet :) You do a great job and I may jump in with a BH character.
Legends or Canon? My one concern is that already there is a person with abilities that not even the greatest masters like Yoda, Mace, Sidious or even the chosen one possess.
Agreed. But I'm sure @Lunar will have no problem dialing it back.
@Assallya I'd go for canon, but we wont be bound to much by this. Legends influences are fine. I am somewhat concerned in a similar fashion, but the world itself allows for this only so much. Being superawesomegreyjedi will quickly get you Vader's lightsaber up your ass :p.
@Rawk the 'how you got so these powers in a time like this' comment was indeed a subtle nudge in that direction. Good to see you interested as well!
@frapet@Rawk@Assallya I agree, so I decrease her power. I made her for a different rp which took place in legends so her power is a little excessive. (like the universe where starkiller was a thing.)
@Lunar Cool. Maybe it helps approaching it from the view that we are in the 'Dark Times' where the only jedi alive are those that are hiding and barely using their powers.
I'm considering a couple of ideas. I do have an old Echani Jedi that should have been on the Council but was practically exiled to the outer rim for his constant arguments against participating in the Clone Wars. He considered a betrayal of all that the Jedi stood for as peace makers.
Another, which would require some consideration is something unique that I created myself, a Mandalorian Gun Dancer. Basically, it's what would happen if the Mandalorians came up with their own version of the Jedi. What came of that was something like a gunslinger from the movie "Wanted".
Could I make a character that runs the red light district in this world? Owns all the whorehouses pleasure settlements in the area. But to get interactions someone would have to visit one of this prestigious settlements.
@Bishop Haha, I had a character like this planned as an NPC already, but Ofcourse you can take his place! I had the idea that the Hutt that runs the station actually has 3 underbosses that run certain branches:
Reemo the Hutt: The being in charge of the station even though he has left most of the actual ruling to 3 underbosses, or gangs. He mainly concerns himself with the fighting pit and the recruitment of mercenaries from that. He has a set of metal ‘teardrops’ running along the bottom part of his wormlike body. While most see them as decorative piercing, they are actually cybernetic legs that allow for a far greater speed of movement than regular Hutts are capable off.
Alina Sarun: The female Twi’lek and one of Reemo’s underbosses. She runs most of the market-related business on Koda Station. She gets a cut in nearly every credit made on the markets and shops, regulated supply and deals with the smugglers and pirates to get less legal goods to the more regulated parts of the galaxy and vice versa. She is almost stereotypically beautiful and the hopeful rumour amongst many males is that she once started out in one of the dancing clubs of Koda Station.
Rattus Arckal: Reemo’s underboss when it comes to the docking and repair-works of the station. He is a Mon Calamari that is hardly ever seen away from the great spacedock that comprises an entire sector of the station. He runs that from a watering hole that many of his crew use and is often at odds with Arwyl Cenna.
Arwyl Cenna: Underboss of Reemo when it comes to the entertainment of Koda Station. He owns all but the watering hole That Arckal’s men use. He is a Falleen male that is always lavishly dressed and at the centre of attention. While he is dependent on Alina Sarun for his supplies and has way less muscle than Rattus Arckal he still tries to exert his power. This has resulted in a rise of prices for the rarer spices and booze and a ban of dockworkers from most of Koda Station’s nightlife.
@Assallya With a 'jedi' slot already filled I think I would preffer the Mando, but it might have a really cool exchange with 2 jedi. So whatever you preffer.
This goes for @Lunar as well: I had the plan that the Hutt in charge of the station (see in the post above) runs a fighting pitt and has a jedi captured for that purpose (without a lightsaber, he is specifically looking for one, or the means to make it). Intending to make a high value fight out of him/her. Maybe it's cool that, if we have 2 jedi characters, one starts as this captured jedi, an escape or something and the presence of the other force user giving more reason to stay involved in the station, rather than bolting straigth out :p
