Name: Nendu Inagu Amas

Nendu – Name
Inagu – Clan
Amas – Title

Title: Amas, a title of honor given to those who have served in favor of the light instead of the dark- who put the well being of all before desire and bring our children a safer world to which they may flourish.

Height: 6’ 4”

Weight: 163

Age: 38

Race/Species: Eosan, basically just humans who developed on another world. Their origins unclear if they're descended from some ancient lost colony or are independently evolved.

Tier/Influence: 3

He is a well known member of the organizations he serves, but ultimately is the one on the field fighting for justice in a universe that has been corrupted by Enkus, the force of desire from which evil sprouts.

Group(s): The Kindred

Appearance: A imposing, tan skinned athletic man. With a lean build and a very rigidly shaved beard. His iris is colored yellow, something distinctive of the ethnicity he is. He is aged from his conflict, but very cut from the stone of conflict which he has known so much. His body shows signs of some injury, but of a very residue sort thanks to the healing from oil bathing. He is one to keep proper care of himself and despite the business he is in, keeps a cleanliness and professionalism about himself. Armored mostly around his elbow, head and chests. His violet robes are very minimalistic, with little ornamentation beyond a light shade of violet with a white headband. His armor is brass colored, plated and inscribed in various inscriptions which infuse the armor with the will of its wearer. He wears sandals out of habit from the desert world which his society arose on and has rough hands which he welds his shield and blade from.

Personality: Nendu is a man of honor who sees himself as a warrior of that which is good in the world, in stand against the darkness which consumes men’s souls and leads to tyranny, injustice and warlordism. He does not view himself merely as a swordsman, indeed he views himself as a champion of the weak and helper of those in need. More so than usual, being willing to help in services for the community such as bringing the goods of the alchemists to the lower classes in need of such services and in his spare time helping with the construction of villages and teaching the next generation of protectors of the realm. Such is the duty of even a younger man such as himself, for the health of society is dependent on those at the bottom most. Such things are taught to people such as Nendu from a young age by the alchemists and enchanters of Eosus who view their magic as much more than mere power- but as a manifestation of goodwill to one’s fellow man. Such outlook is transferred upon to the warrior class so as to ensure harmony between the people who make civilization together.

Sadly, such harmony is always a struggle to come by, a fact of which Nendu is aware of first hand seeing the corruption all around him be it from the emperor of the world or the land lords who have rejected the teachings of the alchemists in favor of the lust to dominate others. Such lust for domination is what disgusts Nendu most- more so than mere greed, for those with greed do not always seek to impoverish others. While those who seek control always do.

He is a tolerant man, even with the strangeness of the universe, and is far more in dismay of the amorality of the outside universe than anything else. To see life unvalued is perhaps the worst thing to him, especially the lives of those who do not seek to harm others or have used their position in society for the betterment of all those under his/her realm.

Still, the contradictions that come from the imperialistic past of the society he is part of do not seem to affect him much- believing that the world empire was a necessity given the destitute era of warlordism that proceeded the world emperor’s rise. Such blind spots do affect his judgment greatly and his lack of moral nuance has proven a problem in the past as you shall see.

Abilities, Talents, Traits, Powers:

  • ( 3 ) Synergetic Binding – The soul binding which Nendu has is synergetic in nature, as seen in his Together We fight Ability which also is transferred to others in the group in the same place.
  • ( 2 ) Sophisticated Swordsmanship – Nendu is a sophisticated swordsman, having honed his skill in since the age of twelve and this still transfers to the enchantments which his equipment has been studiously embroiled in. This swordsmanship has given him strong reflexes and a fast reaction time when in combat.
  • ( 3 ) Sleight of Will – A very enigmatic force which interacts with the tools and weapons which he uses, based upon the will of the user and those around him- when his cause is just and his will to act on part of others, he proves stronger than when he acts in matters that are latently selfish.
  • ( 2 ) Together We Fight – When fighting with others, he is more resistant to being knocked back by kinetic forces, able to hold his ground more than when fighting alone.

Items:

  • ( 3 ) Resonance Blade – A scimitar-like blade made of the finest steel fielded from the northern mountains and forged by the royal craftsmen, inscribed in incantations that enable the blade to harden with the speed at which it is swung. Such blade hits harder when the user’s willpower is stronger.
  • ( 4 ) Light Plate Armor – A light armoring system, not providing full protection as its main purpose is as a conduit for the actual shielding the armor provides. Such armor is tinted in brass and much like his sword is enchanted with various alchemical qualities, primarily a gem which gives him a hardened barrier which fast moving objects, such as arrows, are redirected back from where it came from. This includes living beings, who may run extremely fast at him (say at 60 km/s) only to find themselves inexplicably running away from him when they get within 5 meters of him. Slower projectiles can circumvent this as can weapons that get within the barrier, so say you have a gun and get to the man’s head- you’d still shoot him in the head. This barrier’s success rate is dependent on the willpower of the user, and deactivates if the willpower of the user is weakened enough.
  • ( 2 ) Circular Shield – A relatively mundane shield, circularly shaped that like with his other equipment, becomes hardened with willpower. It can be used as a bludgeoning tool and is mainly used in melee encounters or in the off chance a shotgun is used.

History: Born from a lower class, Nendu was a man who had to work for his position from a young age. Working first as a farm hand, we was selected by the alchemists seemingly at random after spending a year observing the clan which he was part of for people to make a new protector. A protector being someone who isn’t simply a powerful man, but someone with dedication to the greater good of the realm and a willingness to serve for the realm as a whole and not merely for his own reputation.

Through various trials and rituals, Nendu managed to prove himself such individual through the empathy trial. One day, Nendu at the age of twelve found himself having a vulnerable, elderly man loaded with wealth showing up at his father’s doorsteps. He was blind, deaf and easily exploited. Nendu took him in and kept him a secret from his father, of whom saw the wealth of the elderly man as a need and kept trying to pressure Nendu into taking some of his money behind his back. But Nendu refused, again and again.

Nendu simply wanted to find out where he came from and where to help him. Nendu showed his patience dealing with a man who seemed to be both blind and deaf, nursing the sickly man back to health and protecting him from an assassin who showed up to kill the elderly man with no known motive (at the time). Nendu managed by barely against the assassin, but prevailed ultimately because he just wouldn’t stop getting back up even with the poisons that were inflicted upon him, not even killing the assassin but simply having him tied up for local authorities to deal with.

In doing so, Nendu ended up finding himself being conscripted to service of the realm, where he received further moral training and advanced forwards in various domestic disputes and keeping harmony in the realm. He proved a particularly rigid individual in regards to this, a fact of which landed him in deep trouble with those among the elite who were much more morally flexible. They tried to sideline him and rid of him, to much difficulty due to his favor among the alchemists symbolized by the equipment which he has been bestowed.

Desiring a way to rid the world of Nendu without resorting to assassination, various landlords made the case to the world emperor that Nendu deserved better than this world and to have Nendu become part of the Kindred. The emperor was convinced this was the right thing to do and Nendu, oblivious to the motives of the landlords went right along with it. The landlords of course believed Nendu would die somewhere out there in the cold, uncaring universe outside their world far away from them. The emperor did not.

And so Nendu was sent to be initiated into to the Kindred, a society spanning numerous other worlds who as far as Nendu can tell, are the last light in a galaxy dimming by the year with the federation’s schism breaking out in recent times. The balance of light and dark is astray in the universe and his services are in dire need. That much has proven clear. Despite having been initiated to the Kindred he proves still a new member of it unfamiliar with various aspects of the kindred and still finding he has much moral development to go- as a certain naiveté still permeates him to this day.
