Name: Summer
Age: 28
Race: Human
Sex: Female
Skills: Science, First Aid, Mechanics, Traps, Energy Weapons, Survival
Personality:
Summer is one of the less savoury characters you’re likely to meet in the wastelands. She’s cynical of everything and as stubborn as a mule, with a sharp tongue to match her short temper. Her sass has gotten her into several bad situations in the past and her headstrong nature borders on the reckless sometimes. For a medic, Summer shows a shocking disregard for human life and can be very judgmental. She dislikes ghouls, does not view a synth as a person and wouldn’t even acknowledge a super mutant unless she has to.
The main reason people tend to put up with her vile attitude is because of her brains. Summer is incredibly well educated for a Wastelander with a passion for technology that encourages her to invent and experiment. Her personality seeps into her research methods, picking dangerous and immoral tests for the most effective results with little regard for the consequences - unless they’d affect her personally. The same goes for her skills as a medic - her bedside manners are disgusting, yet her capabilities make treatment worth it.
Appearance: Summer is a little shorter than average, a meagre frame with enough muscle to get by in the wastes but remain somewhat on the bottom of the food chain. Her face is gaunt; a pair of dark almond-shaped eyes typically squinted with distaste, a distinguishable jaw, and sharp, thin lips. These features are decorated with curly maroon hair cut neatly into a short enough hairstyle to keep it out of her face. Her body has a scattering of scars and burns that she has accumulated throughout her life. She cannot escape the grime and sweat of a wastelander but clearly puts pride in her appearance.
Summer carries an Institute laser rifle that's been altered to use multiple cells consecutively instead of having to carry several on her person all the time. She also has a simple pistol, a switchblade, and a small assortment of pulse mines, fragmentation grenades and ammunition.
(Previous) Occupation(s): BOS Mechanic/Field Medic
Faction (Minutemen, Institute, BOS, Railroad, None. Etc): None
Backstory
Summer grew up in Diamond City as one of the younger siblings of a very large and rather impoverished family. Bullied by the older siblings and ignored by the younger ones, Summer became introverted and a bit of a bookworm once she was taught how to read and write. There aren’t many picture books and novels in the wastelands so she had to make-do with old textbooks and instruction manuals, alongside faded comics, tattered bibles and terminal entries. Just like any other reading enthusiast, Summer had her favourite genre; the sciences were fascinating to the young girl. She had a morbid curiosity towards the human body in particular.
When she became old enough to work, she found a job at the radio station repairing old equipment. This occupation eventually lead her to repairing her own radios and trying out frequencies at home where she discovered the Brotherhood of Steel. Desperate to make a few extra caps and escape the high walls of Diamond City, Summer figured out how to enrol during her teenage years.
The physical training was brutal and merciless but by some small miracle Summer managed it. She would never be as strong as a soldier so she flitted between being a mechanic and a field medic, often an apprentice shadowing one of the fully qualified staff until she knew exactly what she was doing. It was her first true experience of the wasteland and it was gory, cruel and unforgiving. The timid bookworm had hardened into a pessimistic and short-tempered youth. Mistakes tempered her recklessness and reason struggled to overcome the issues that came with an extended lack of socialisation during her childhood.
Summer improved on the psychological front during her stay with the Brotherhood but after an incident that Summer still refuses to mention, she was discharged from duty and kicked out into the wastes. From there she flitted aimlessly from mercenary work to helping around various settlements in exchange for caps. She even hung out with raiders once or twice. Her behaviour made it difficult for her to settle down in one place for too long, but the varied experiences added to her wealth of knowledge and kept her skills up to date. As far as anyone knows right now, she has spent the last few months travelling with a child of atom.
There we go, I hope you like her!
Prizrak, this is what you sent me yesterday right? I'm good with it.
Sorry about the delay in posting, was on vacation
@Kouropalatesa lot would advise against running into a shack with a slumbering super mutant
