"Hey, um, Liz." Candi said, "Sorry to bother you, but I sort of painted the walls of my apartment." She bit her lip, scolding herself in her mind not to be so rash, "I painted it so it would remind me of what it was like before, and I didn't even think to ask you, but is it ok?" She looked up hopefully and seeing Liz's troubled face, she asked, "Are you ok?"

"I don't mind. You can paint the apartment any way you like. You might offer to paint rooms for the others." Liz ran her fingers through her hair. "Being a leader is harder then I thought. Gustavus is pushing me to push people to pair up with assigned partners."

' Dropping the shovel; Axel picked his jacket and put it on. Walking into the warehouse, he pat his stomach. He saw Liz and Candi both in the same room. Raising his arms; he crossed them over his chest, he scaled her from her visage and the piece of paper she was looking at. He didn't need to talk as his very presence gave off the essence of his inquisitive nature; giving Liz time to expose the list of pairs towards him.'

Her eyes brightened along with her face, "Yeah that'd be a great idea!" Then with a pause to think she said, "I know you'll make the right decision. I mean, it makes sense, they're so few of us." She sees Axel and smiles "Hi Axel"

"Just because it makes sense doesn't make it right. People are both smarter then Gustavus seems to think and just as dumb. He could be right that they didn't come repopulate but to increase their own ability to survive. Who could turn down free room and food?" Liz asked frustrated.

''Paring up people? Haha, and the fools keep on rolling.'' He said, his hand rested on his keepsake blade. He looked towards Liz, empathizing with her.'' You know, a leader does what's right. The leader does what he/she thinks is right and stick with it. But I'm not one for a leader; I suggest we do this democratically. Fair votes and such, or in the end we'll just break off into little sections and our downfall will become inevitably closer...It's all your choice in the end.'' He rambled on, looking out the window; his blue oceanic orbs skating from figure to figure.'' You'll want to do what's best for them, keep things fair.A leader could easily become biased or corrupt.'' At this point his voice was quite stern, he was no longer just giving advice at this point. '' Do not let this Gustavus guy push you. Do what you see in best; we owe you a great debt. I will stand aside you no matter in your choice; regardless my advice's will still be given.''

"I see what you mean." She sighed, "It's hard to decide, I'm only fourteen, I know I'm young, but if you need me to do anything I'll do it. You seem like you're stressed, is there anything that I can do?" She asked. She stood up straight and looked into Liz's eyes with loyalty.

"I'm not sure i want it to be my choice. I want people to be smart enough to pair up on their own. It doesn't have to be today or even this week. But it needs to be reasonable soon. I'm afraid they won't be interested. How can I enforce something that I'm uncomfortable with?" Liz asked. She smiled at Cindi's offer. The kid was probably the first to offer to do something for her. "No thank Cindi. Right now the only thing you can do is see if anyone wants their room painted."

'' Only time can tell, Liz. What is the point of enforcing love? It's like forcing a child to grow teeth. It will never happen.'' He said nonchalantly.'' It's common sense that people cannot choose who they love, rather accept who they begin to love.'' Raising his gloved hand, he allowed the fingers to rake through his hair, the bleach blond reacting to his path. '' If they aren't interested, then they just aren't. The basic human rights must be met; enforcing love upon someone is forcing them to give up their freedom. Which is very repulsive.'' He continued on.

"Ok," she nodded and looked at Axel and nodded as well, "Good insight, I guess I'll go back to the apartments." She turns to leave and then looks back "And Liz, I think you're right about it being their choice." She walked back to her apartment, put her paints in her bag, and then walked around the apartments trying to find someone who wanted their room painted. (My name's Candi, by the way xD)

"We can't survive without children. While I don't like the idea of forcing people together. I like the end of humanity more." Liz set the paper aside. "For now on going to see to what happens. But I might have to force the issue."

He sighed at this point, as though against the idea he didn't raise any aggression towards her though. '' Liz, don't set yourself up for disappointment, I'm sure people will find the good in each other and fall in love. It's inevitable, the subconscious of their mind already knows that this is all that they have; pairing will come automatically. They will fall for whomever they find most attractive not just physically but also within them. But, I want to run by you a democratic approach in this Liz. This would give us a better chance of survival and a healthier community. You do not want to be hated do you? Every leader draws hatred upon themselves and then there's corruption due to power as well.'' Axel dropped his other hand within his pocket.

She walked outside the apartments and sat under a tree, trying to make a rough draft for an apartment. She sketched designs and thought about pairing people together. She wasn't sure how she felt on it, but she knew it was necessary to continue the human race. She sighed and her mind wandered to back before the virus.

"No i don't want to be hated." Liz said sadly. That was the worse if it. She was going to be hated if she forced the issue no matter how much it made sense. But if she didn't humanity would die out. Either way she lost. She should never had made the stupid flyer.

''And you won't. Let them pair up. We're bound to find a couple in a month? A week, possibly even a day, ha!''

"I'll give them a month." Liz figured that should atleast give the others time to atleast get to know each other. "If there is no signs of anyone showing interest in pairing up then I will take Gustuva's suggestion."

''That's more than enough.'' He laughed at her next few words.'' Even if we fail, his suggestion won't make a difference.'' This idea was completely unprocessed, no factors of it were considerate and even if they did pair people; it would be impossible for them to be attracted to each other. '' Out of curiosity, how WOULD you pair people up? Even science fails at that, how is it possible for a mere primitive to pair people up? You've got to consider the playing field,''

She sits a distance away from them on the wall of the warehouse and listens, with no one else around she felt a bit lonely. She sketched quietly and listened to them

"I would probably match them by age or interest." Liz answered. "Being attracted to each other is a bonus we might not be able to afford any more. People have had children with people they don't care for before."
