It's been a good long time since I've RP'd, and I was hoping to get back into the swing of things. I'm looking for someone willing to work within a world I've mostly come up with, who will be willing to listen to what I have and help build off of it. I have a number of settings for a number of genres, so I'm fairly flexible on what kind of story is told. I try to avoid fandoms, but like everything there are a few exceptions. I have a clear idea of a few of these settings, and while I appreciate feedback, I am unlikely to make sweeping changes to things within them.
I'm looking for someone who's flexible with post schedules. Some days I'll be able to reply very regularly, others, only a few times during the work day. All depends on what's coming across my desk. Outside of work, I can be more flexible, but I also have real life commitments and such, so flexible is best. PM's here on the site are the best way to communicate.
I expect my stories to have mature themes. None of my worlds are exceptionally Grimdark or Noblebright, but have a wide spectrum of people in them. I'm less gritty than G.R.R. Martin, and less optimistic than J.K. Rowling.
Any story we work on will have you playing one main character, and myself playing the cast around that character. You would be the 'star' of the story, and as such, I will bring in allies and adversaries for you. How much 'screen time' a character gets may depend on how much you interact with them, or if you ask me to focus on them OOC'ly. I plan on taking a very "Storyteller" role in this plot.
All of my stories have more elements of realism than fantasy. Elves are a species, humans are a different, but similar species. There are consequences to cross breeding. Sci-fi will feel more like Firefly than Star Trek.
I mentioned Fandoms, though I have these other ideas, I am willing to entertain a specific Fandom right now. If you're interested in a Warhammer 40k Themed play, mention it. I have plenty of ideas for that as well, though it's fairly niche compared to others.
I'm obviously comfortable playing whatever gender, whatever sexuality, though I have next to no experience writing detailed MxM scenes.
Here are some broad pictures of what I'm interested in.
Modern is fairly self explanatory, though I'd clarify that it would be 10 years in the future. Depending on the type of modern story, this opens up a lot of political stuff as well as making life a little better by giving some cool 'technology' buffs that aren't quite sci-fi, but not quite modern.
Fantasy - I have a fairly Tolkien-esque setting who's culture revolves around worshiping the Sun and his many 'Scions'(basically angels). One thing different from standard Tolkien style worlds is that 'true' elves/dwarves/halflings aren't allies at all with Humans. The Humans are a victorious conqueror, having effectively killed off the High Elf culture centuries ago. They've fought wars with the Wood Elves, who are fairly radical about Nature taking over the world, and have decided to ignore the Sea Elves who live on the islands off the coast. Still, the Church takes any children in, and raises them "In the Light of Ahrun", so they can be functional members of society. Basically, there's one macro-culture that has a number of humanoid orphans/refugees/former prisoners in it.
Sci-Fi - Give humanity 1300 years. FTL travel allowed Humanity to expand roughly 300 Ly in all directions. There's interstellar wars between factions of humanity in the Core Worlds, and a sense of exploration on the Frontier as better FTL Tech is allowing for faster jumps to uncharted worlds.
Post-Apoc - World War III came and went. There was a limited nuclear exchange between various superpowers. No one really cares about who started the wars. The UN is a crippled shell of what it was, China is mostly a radioactive wasteland, and any nation strong enough to assert power is currently trying to. Global shipping faltered, massive famine and plague broke out as stores stopped getting supplies on a global scale. Nations war all over Europe as goods and services become even more scarce. The US has suffered a number of nuclear attacks, and a crippled central government. In time, local 'authorities' have risen to control of whatever they can, and have started waging war against each other in the ruins of their former life.
Let me know if you're interested via PM. I look forward to hearing from you!
