@HushedWhispers Can you tell me which positions are free? Happened once to me when I just threw in a completed character but it happened that someone else had requested that position via PM before me.
Prince of Abhainn, King of Slibah, Queen of Slibah, Lady of Slibah, Prince of Slibah and Princess of Slibah.
Due to unfavorable unforeseen events, I will be unable to participate in this RP. I am sorry to disappoint you all. Good luck and godspeed!
Well, that sucks but thank you for letting us know so no worries.
Thanks for the luck and I hope to write with you soon. :)
Keir Farren
{ "What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals." }
| Name |Keir Farren
| Nickname |None yet
| Age |28
| Gender |Female
| Sexuality |Heterosexual
| Kingdom |Slibah
| Alliance |With her Lady, of course.
| In Depth Appearance |When one is constantly standing next to a future Queen, she can never truly be judged on her own merits. Nevertheless, Keir is far from homely and considered remarkably prepossessing--when she's not being obstinate for some reason or other. She stands at a taller than average 5'8" with a slim but toned build. Her long, dark brown tresses are often secured in some manner as to keep the curls away from her face while her dark blue eyes scrutinize her surroundings. Her skin is a few shades up from alabaster due to some time spent in the sun.
| Habits |Keir has a bad habit of snooping, especially where her Lady's welfare is concerned. If it can be sussed out, she intends to know it. She also cannot help but to tidy and/or rearrange anything that she perceives to be messy, crooked, or otherwise out of place. Both have won her praise and reprimanding a various times. She tries her best not to twist her fingers in her hair when she is nervous, a reportedly unlady-in-waiting-like habit; it still gets through in the most harrowing of times.
| Hobbies |When she's not snooping or being a neat freak, Keir enjoys a myriad of hobbies. Sketching is by far her most favorite hobby followed shortly by enjoying nature and practicing her archery; sometimes just for the enjoyment and other times for her sketches. She also enjoys sneaking peeks at books whenever she can get the chance (not sure if women are taught to read in your setting or not; historically, they weren't). Of course, whenever her Lady is near, Keir enjoys playing to her strengths and drawing attention to her for maximum benefit.
| Likes |Art, Music, Dancing, Books, Being outdoors, Useful gossip, Archery, Honesty
| Dislikes |Liars, Feeling trapped, Being told what to do (by people of equal or lesser rank), Anything that wastes her time, Feeling useless
| Fears |Being stuck/imprisoned/trapped somewhere--especially small, enclosed spaces. Not having any control over her present situation.
| Personality |Keir is a headstrong young adult who doesn't always color inside the lines that society has provided for her. Nevertheless, she does it subtly in ways that are not likely to get her--or her ladyship--more than a scolding. She's especially willing to push the boundaries when it comes to her Lady, to whom she is eternally indebted. She is always willing to give her opinion on matters--with permission when in lofty society--and cannot abide dishonesty even to spare someone's feelings. She is slow to trust and sometimes quick to anger depending on the circumstances.
While many chastise her for the habits and hobbies she keeps, the only opinion she holds in high regard so far in life has been that of her Lady and her Royal Family. While others do not see the usefulness in a young woman who practices archery, draws, snoops, or looks at books, Keir sees how it might benefit her ladyship. It helps that she thinks they are pretty fun and exciting, too. While she has had some interests purely of her own--in life and in love--she hasn't felt that she's had time to properly devote to even thinking of let alone acting on them. However, with the impending betrothal of her Lady and peace of the lands, Keir wonders what it would be like to have more freedom and if she'll ever find someone willing to accept her unconventional aspects.
| Background |Keir Farren is the eldest daughter of the Farrens of Slibah. With two younger sisters and two older brothers, the Farren line has always been fairly secure even after the death of her father during the war. Her family had overseen the production of some of the kingdoms finest weapons and were well known in their aptitude for using them, so no one was surprised when her father and eldest brother were enlisted to provide weapons and training. They were surprised when one of their training camps was caught unaware by enemy soldiers; it is said that her Lord Farren along with the trainers and trainees were able to defend the camp for long enough to receive reinforcements. Thankfully her older brother was one of those spared, but her father and quite a few of the others were lost in the defense. It was seen as a key tactical defense point which helped hold the line for Slibah in a dire time.
In addition to a boon granted the new young Lord Farren for his service, Keir was offered the esteemed position of Lady in Waiting to the soon to be Queen of Abhainn. She was never sure whose idea it was--because even for her, she felt it would be rude to ask--but she always suspected it may have been her Ladyship's idea. They had met at court previously a few times for various functions and while they had spoken very little, Keir felt they had gotten along quite well. She had never thought she would be more than a Lord's eldest daughter to be married off to gain some favor or other amongst the nobility. Suddenly she found herself elevated far beyond even what she could imagine for herself--and her imagination was fairly active despite the fact she knew none of it would ever be reality. Now, she works to the maximum benefit of her Lady, hoping to be worthy of the position granted her and make good on her father's sacrifice. She's both nervous and excited about traveling to the new kingdom with her Ladyship. Afterall, if she is to be separated from the rest of the Royal Family after marriage, she should at least be able to keep her Lady in Waiting from Slibah if she has no one else she knows in Abhainn. Not that Keir is biased or anything...
| Extra |Keir is especially interested in the Ancient civilizations' art, mythology, culture, et cetera.
@HushedWhispers Please let me know about the age! I'm not sure how old your character will be and I guess I may try to make her a similar age for easier RP purposes. And please do let me know anything else I might need to change.
Disclaimer: I'm a night shift nurse so I work 12 hour shifts, sleep, wake up, and do it all over again. I generally only work 3 nights a week but I will most likely not be able to post on those nights. I can let you know if I work 3 shifts in a row but they are usually spread out.
Also, if you can, please ignore my post count. I may be new to this website but I am far from new to roleplaying. Please and thanks!
I loved your character, to be honest and I am sure my character will absolutely adore her and try to find her someone suitable to be her husband. :D
She's accepted and you can place her within the Character Tab whenever you're ready.
Lady Alice Allaire
{ βThe only time one can possess bravery is when one is afraid.β }
| Name |Lady Alice Allaire of Abhainn
| Nickname |Ali
| Age |30
| Gender |Female
| Sexuality |Bisexual
| Kingdom |Abhainn
| Alliance |Alice puts her efforts and her loyalty to King Edward of Abhainn, being quite fond of him and growing up to admire him. Though she was only able to become good friends with him, she has a lingering physical and emotional attraction towards him since her childhood. Alice associates herself with all those that follow him, but resents those that go against him or turn their back on him.
| In Depth Appearance |Alice consistently keeps a serious, though seductive expression -- her high cheekbones, arched brows, and plump lips adding to her alluring look with bright, hazel eyes that take on a slight almond-shape. Though she stands at 5'6, she generally wears rather tall heels to give her some extra inches as she enjoys towering over others. Her garments are beautifully embroidered and generally consist of tight corsets, cinching her waist to give a more womanly figure. Alice wears a fair amount of jewelry, but she will only wear ones with high sentimental value, or those of the highest quality.
| Habits |Alice has a bad habit of being easily-seduced, falling for those that are highly charismatic. Though her expectations in people are high, it is easy to pull her in when those expectations are met. Stemming from this, she has a habit of wanting to be seen higher than others, often competing with other women in her head and comparing herself to others. Alice also has a habit of intervening and involving herself in predicaments that will keep her status and reverence high.
| Hobbies |Alice has a strong hobby for swordsmanship, but she never truly engages in battle, nor does she have any designated armor or equipment(though she's trying to change this). She also exercises her hobby of singing frequently, partaking in events of operas whether it be watching or performing.
| Likes |Alice likes traveling, being the center of attention(especially to men), music, being favored by the King, makeovers, and fashion.
| Dislikes |Alice dislikes being turned down, being seen as irrelevant, untrustworthy people, insects, lack of power, and disrespect.
| Fears |Alice strongly fears failure, which sometimes motivates her and keeps her determined, or it gets in the way from succeeding and clouds her judgement.
| Personality |Alice is a strong-willed, opinionated, and demanding individual, usually expressing respect only when she's respected. She is a big dweller of the past and holds grudges over people, especially those that cross her or humiliate her. Alice will relive moments in which she's embarrassed, humiliated, powerless, or weak and turn it into anger, resulting in a strong desire to get revenge on those that cause such feelings. She is an incredibly sore loser when it comes to certain situations such as losing a bet, failing to learn or understand something, or being one-uped.
Alice is also very defensive of those that she cares about, sometimes going to extents of making great sacrifices for the safety of an individual. While Alice does have a very prissy nature, she is a very generous person, enjoying the feeling of giving to those in need and being honored for it in return. She holds a different kind of respect for those that are beneath her than those that are of or above her level, or rank, being kinder to those that are lower and being more stern with those that are equal or better.
| Background |Alice grew up as a free-spirited child, loving to run free and find unexplored areas, making her a rather mischevious child. She had no desire to be a powerful influencer to her kingdom until she became of age to understand the concept of ruling. Alice has always been used to being supported by the people for simply being born into a noble family, being rather spoiled at her early stages in life. Alice is one of three children in the Allaire family, having two older brothers that grew up scrutinizing her and lecturing her about what she shouldn't and should do. While her parents were close friends to the royal family, she grew up alongside the twin princes, favoring Edward more than Henry, but still befriending both. As Alice grew older, her first love interest was established, fantasizing about being the Queen to Edward soon after he was crowned. With this growing love interest, Alice made it a point to understand the laws of the land and really study the noble families and what effects they had on the country. While she was hopeful that she would become a strong influencer, her intentions changed. Initially, she wanted to be of enough significance that Edward would begin to notice her more, but her first few tastes of power and delving into the royal dramas shaped her power-craving and ruling personality.
Alice, being smarter and more clever, began to make her role as a noble lady more apparent throughout the country, often giving certain necessities, such as food or materials, to small towns or counties that were in need to gain the favor of the people. Becoming seen as a Lady that helps those in need made her appreciated by many townsfolk and improved her reverence, becoming one of Abhainn's popular nobles. Although, throughout the royal court, many know of her dark side that consists of a now small, but growing, hunger for power and her ability to manipulate and lie. Some believe it's a good strategy to become relevant and climb the hierarchy ladder, while others believe it's a twisted way to fulfill her desires.
As of late, Alice has been involving herself in many predicaments involving the royal court and seeing how far she can get in influencing the country's decisions to soon rise a woman of great power. Though, with little to no current controversies, Alice struggles to show her ruling prowess. Thus, with her desires getting the best of her, Alice seeks to rekindle the raging fires of battle and quarrels between the two kingdoms, strategizing many in-depth plots that will remind the nobles, civilians, and kings of their hatred towards each other.
| Extra |Alice commonly dreams of the future, wondering what kind of advances would happen hundreds of years down the line. Hopefully a better form of travel than horses...
Here's my CS~! I'm hoping it's okay, I ended up leaving and just got back home and wanted to just finish it up. Let me know if things don't add up or if I should change some things about her. ALSO! I'm not sure what model/actress I'm using o: Does anyone recognize her?
Another lovely character. :) Accepted and you may place her within the Character Tab whenever you're ready.
Lord Eron Hightower
{ Alas, one must strike a balance between honour and deceit to survive in our world. }
| Name |Lord Eron Hightower
| Nickname |Herald of Death.
| Age |36
| Gender |Male
| Sexuality |Heterosexual
| Kingdom |Abhainn.
| Alliance |His alliance is with his House.
| In Depth Appearance |Lord Eron is of average height with a strong, athletic physique. His face is broad, with square jaws and a powerful chin with a bit of rugged stubble. Wavy hair falls down to his shoulders, framing his face and hazel eyes peer out from underneath somewhat thick eyebrows.
Although there aren't any apparent wounds on him, when he takes off his shirt one is able to see countless wounds across the front and back of his body. In normal circumstances, Lord Eron has a small smile on his face, almost a smirk, and this only disappears in the most dire situations.
| Habits |
- Although not really a habit but more of a quirk, Eron is almost always gripping the pommel of his sheathed sword and shifting it within its belt, as though eager to draw the weapon.
- Another is a cleaning ritual of his sword every morning and evening,
and after every session of love-making, as a reminder of who he is and that another sword, just as sharp, could easily take his life in a moment's notice.- Running his hand through his hair is another thing he does, mostly unconsciously, when in social gatherings.
| Hobbies |
- Reading books. One would seldom expect someone like him to be well read beyond the requirements of his stature, but Eron enjoys reading. Often making time throughout his day to sit quietly in his solar to simply read, and among his favourite works are of the philosophical type as it always stimulates his mind to think and challenge the status quo.
- As a knight turned lord, among his favourite hobbies is horse riding. His destrior, Grim, is a horse he had since he was knighted and just like reading, he must find time to ride once in a while.
| Likes |
- Honour
- Tourneys
- Philosophy
- Horses
- Wine
| Dislikes |
- Cowards and cowardly behaviour
- Disrespect
- Dishonour
- Stupidity
- Unnecessary cruelty
| Fears |
- Dying without fulfilling his dreams and goals
- Becoming a dishonourable individual
- Losing the legacy of his father
| Personality |Lord Eron is deceptively laid back and seemingly carefree, however behind his lazy eyes and smile is an incredibly sharp mind.
He is a man that enjoys being the center of attention, is comfortable with all eyes on him, and basks in the admiration of the people.
Eron is known as calm and collected, extraordinarily slow to anger and the type of person, despite his reputation, to favour peace over violence. However, when he is angered it is just as slow for those embers to ebb away, leading Eron to hunt down his source of anger and seek a reconciliation.
Outwardly, Eron is peaceful, collected, and seemingly altruistic. Yet hidden within is great ambition, rarely does he do anything except that it favours him in some way, whether it be in the short or the long term. He is calculating, pragmatic, and blunt. Yet to soften the harshness of those qualities, he has a strong sense of honour that is genuine, even though he uses that as something of a smoke screen from his deeper qualities.
| Background |Eron was the second son to Lord Francis the Defender, born within the towers of Fort Blackreath. As the second son, he was bred from the beginning to be a knight, while his elder brother Luther was being bred to inherit their father. Eron had no problem with this,
and accepted it readily when his father bluntly told him his plans. Thus seeking to differentiate himself, he swore he would become the most renowned knight within both kingdoms and to help with this, his father squired him to Sir Jeremy the Knight of Abhainn who was,
in his prime, the knight who won the most land for the kingdom and a great thorn in Sliabh's side.
At the age of fourteen, King Fredrick held a tourney inviting all the houses and knights of the kingdom to attend, and after winning the jousting bout, Eron was knighted. Several years passed with more and more tourneys under his belt and his reputation as a knight grew within the kingdom. Upon returning to Blackreath near the borders of the two kingdoms, news came that Sliabh's forces were making a desperate gambit to recapture a city not far off. Eron was sent by his father commanding a force just under a thousand strong to meet the Sliabhs which outnumbered them almost 3:1, and yet Eron routed them, crushing their lines almost instantly and he gave chase.
Several months of battles and skirmishes between Eron and the Sliabhs, upon which the Sliabh forces met unmitigated casualties, Eron was dubbed the Herald of Death. He saw an opportunity, after months of an effective stalemate on the borders, to make a blitz into the neighbouring kingdom with a small task force behind enemy lines to disrupt their supply lines and cripple them. Yet, a message arrived to hold his position and not to advance and several weeks later, he was commanded by the king to withdraw his forces.
When he returned King Fredrick honoured him by making him a Royal Guard and Eron graciously accepted. Only to learn this was a gift meant as compensation from the King for having given their home and land to the Sliabhs. Eron, honour-bound could do nothing but watch as his family home was taken by the enemy, vowing that he would do whatever it took to take back his ancestral home.
| Extra |18th century pirates!
@HushedWhispers Finished my CS! It's a little different since his only alliance is to himself and his House, I hope you don't mind. Think it could work to make some wonderful drama and all that.
Nice Lord character. :) Accepted and you may place him within the Character Tab whenever you're ready.
