Character Name: Thorg Ironson
Race: Dwarf
Gender: Male
Age: 27
Origins: Helmgart
Religious Beliefs: Handrich, The human god of trade
Career: Mercenary
Skills: Thorg learned both the languages Khazalid and Reikspiel as he grew up and his adopted family often traveled between dwarf holds and Empire settlements. However his Khazalid is somewhat rusty and with an Imperial accent, however his Reikspiel is also twinged with the accent that many dwarves have. He did make it a point to continue using Khazalid when he could so that he did not lose the use of the language. His favorite part was cursing at people who did not know Khazalid and his knowledge of personal insults is still quite solid.
His years with the Dwarven traders and Imperal Smith taught him a great deal of personal skills, such as how to beat metals into submission, care for the Oxen pulling the cart and the Chickens the smith kept. He also became adpet at fighting for the right price, both as a travelling merchant and in the Smith's shop. While travelling he was taught how to drive the cart along, however he is somewhat rusty in this regard and is more used to an oxen cart carrying a heavy load rather than a charriot for example.
More recently, as a mercenary he has learned the basic selfpreservation skills to keep himself alive, and earn a profit. The first, and most important skill was learning to avoid being stabbed or cut to ribbons. He was also taught battle language and how to systematically search a battlefield or bandit camp for claimable treasure.
Summary: Common Knowledge (Empire), Speak Language (Khazalid), Speak Language (Reikspiel), Trade Smith, Animal Care, Dodge Blow, Drive, Haggle, Search, Secret Language (Battle Tongue), Swim.
Talents:
Thorg is a dwarf, and that imbues him with all the same instances of strength that his kin have. He is a natural craftsman taking to smithing like... well, a dwarf. He is not greatly skilled like the guild smiths in the dwarf hold but he learns the trade quickly and seems to just produce better products. This comes with a trade off, any sleight against him is met with the terrible dwarven fury that they are known for, rarely letting even minor disagreements go without a major confrontation.
He has the same physiology as most of his kin, albeit slightly thinner, he is still quite burly and tough able to keep fighting under a suit of heavy plate that would be too much for most races. He sees very well at night or in the depth of a tunnel wich is the only way dwarves could be as successful as they are, and a resistance to magic born from their ancient past.
in service as a mercenary he makes an excellent sniper with his crossbow able to reload and fire the weapon rapidly with a high degree of accuracy. He honed his skills as an excellent shooter because he found a bolt pinning a goblin to a wall much more satisfying than savagely beating it to death.
Summary: Dwarfcraft, Grudge-born Fury, Night Vision, Resistance to Magic, Stout-hearted, Sturdy, Quick Draw, Rapid Reload, Sharpshooter
Physical Description: Thorg is somewhat lithe (for a dwarf), he is about 3.5 feet tall and still quite stocky from other's standards but to other dwarves he is thin, thus giving him a little less raw physical power than some of his kin, but he became agile (for a dwarf). His time with humans has made him a stranger among his kin, While Thorg is plenty able to grow a beard, he chooses instead to trim like many of his human friends and acquaintances. However he embraces his dwarven heritage through intricate tattoos of runes and (celtic) knots. They are not magical or protective in any way, just his was of embracing his heritage.
Mental Description/Personality: Thorg Ironson is much like any other dwarf, iron-willed and stubborn. however many of his mannerisms are quite human, as his whole life was spent with a mixture of Humans and Dwarves. This shows itself most extremely in his (somewhat) forgiving attitude for petty sleights. He does get angry like most other dwarves do, but if the matter is inconsequential he will often forgive the offending party rather than start a brawl. However, any major sleight against Thorg is forged into a grudge that will be remedied come chaos or greenskins.
Trappings (Arms, Armour and Attire): Thorg wears a set of light chain & thick leather as armor, the chain he made himself. It is not the highest quality dwarven mail ever made but his dwarven craftsmanship helped make the armor quite useable and sturdy, although there is a distinct hint that some of the thick leather was made from a black smith's apron. He carries a crossbow, made in the empire, that he has added a simple tally burnt into the wood for the greenskins he has killed with it (currently 8), his shield is of simple construction dense hardwood wrapped in thick hide, there are no clan names or sigils emblazoned on the shield as Thorg does not belong to a clan, the inside of his shield also carries the simple tally of Greenskins he has killed in melee (currently 12). His axe was purchased from a travelling dwarven merchant he had befriended. It is good dwarven steel but not anything special as a rune weapon. However it has since been etched (poorly) by Thorg adding runes and designs haphazardly. He also carries a simple steel dagger in his belt behind his cloak as a back up weapon if he is ever caught off guard, and is generally loath to remove it if required.
When not ready for war he wears a simple cloth shirt that has several cuts and burn holes through the material, however he is rarely seen out of his chain & leather armor. He wears a pair of thick but soft leather breeches, not tough enough to be considered armor but good protection from the elements and thick enough to make sitting or kneeling on the ground waiting for a battle to start tolerable. His boots are of similar construction, Thick soft leather to keep out water and protect his feet during a long walk over rough terrain. Finally he wears a Dense cloth cloak that has been worn and shredded at the last couple inches, but the dense cloth is somewhat effective at keeping the cold of a mountain pass or the winter chill off.
Summary: Crossbow with 10 Bolts, Shield, Medium Armour, Healing Draught, Hand axe, shirt, breeches, worn boots, tattered cloak, dagger tucked in a boot or belt
Miscellaneous: Thorg also carries a backpack containing a blanket that seems to have been previously designed with a human in mind and seems a little large on Thorg, but it holds enough room for any loot or treasure he may find along with his other possessions. He also carries a wooden tankard and wooden cutlery set to eat on the move, though he generally hunts an animal and eats with his hands from the spit roast.

Background/History:
Thorg is a foundling in the town of Helmgart, his parents probably hailed from a dwarf hold near there or where dwarves working for the empire. Their history is entirely unknown to him, except for a small silver medallion with the names "Ohrgrim" and "Natalia" but he considers either avenging them or finding them to be his deepest and oldest grudge and formed the basis of his life of adventure, although the riches, fame and curvaceous women where also quite appealing. He was found by the city watch and put up in an orphanage, Though Thorg was too young to remember any of this himself. He was adopted by a dwarven family, Targ and Winre, whom could not have children of their own for whatever reason. They where simple traders, peddling dwarven made goods by wagon between other holds and human cities and villages they gave him the name Thorg Ironson, which was different from their own names as the family was exiled from their clan over some petty grudge.
Thorg traveled with them for the duration of his childhood, from town to town, learning both Dwarven and human culture well. He made friends in many cities and holds. However while he was passing through a small port town in Carroburg his adopted father heard of a great trade opportunity far to the south in the badlands with the dwarf hold of Barrak Varr. The journey was very dangerous and Thorg was still far too young to fight off greenskins, so his adopted parents left him in the care of a human family that they trusted, the man of the house was a smith. Robert and his wife Helga took in Thorg with the understanding that they may not return. Unfortunately they didn't, and Thorg was assumed to be adopted by the human family. Robert took him in as a son and apprentice, teaching him the basics of smithing. Robert was not master dwarven smith but Thorg took to it quickly learning a trade.
While smithing suited him just fine, it did not satiate his wanderlust and would never help him avenge his true parents or his adopted family. As he grew into adulthood and grew his first substantial beard he decided to use the meager wealth he had accumulated to purchase equipment and armor and set off as an axe for hire. He was more competent as a crossbow gunner than a brawler but could hold his own.
In his brief time as a mercenary he has been bloodied and learned to fight, mostly against small goblin raiding parties and bandits, That the Empire doesn't bother marshaling its forces for. While not a great mercenary of high renown he has made friends in several mercenary companies who operate in the west. Through Robert, his second adopted father, he knows several Dwarven smiths and other local smiths around the Carroburg area and have made close friends with several of the black smiths.
Thorg was never bound to a clan or lord in his life and does not understand their importance really. people need leaders and such he understands that but his loyalty does not lie with and high king or emperor. His loyalty is to the commoner. Nearly everyone he has ever known personally had been commoners, farmers who came into Robert's shop or merchants who traded with Targ. The Mercenary companies he assisted where always beneficiaries of the common folk, stopping raiders and bandits rather than enlisting their services to the Imperial army or a town garrison.
During his time as a mercenary was where he first saw the true might of engineering in action. An Empire army managed to catch a Greenskin raid of substantial size and the Empire fielded great steam tanks and a phalanx of cannons. The destruction left Thorg in awe of the power and he began to take of engineering as a hobby. He is not skilled with the technique yet, it is more a curiosity that he studies when he has a chance than a trade.
Thorg loves his adopted family, Robert and his wife where always kind and generous to him, but the loss of his first adopted family leaves him with a deep hatred of any Greenskins. because he is sure that the green skins are responsible for the deaths of his first family.
