A raven caws before it takes flight; through the skies of Earth, above the humans.

Once, mankind accepted a simple truth; that they were not alone in this universe. In some worlds, Man believed home to their Gods. Others, they knew to fear. From around the cold and darkness, came the Frost Gods.

The raven continued to fly through the sky, going through the upper clouds, before going into a gray one, which appears to have snow and ice on top of it; a wintry landscape, with frigid blasts of cold air riding in the wind. The bird flew over one of the mountains, where one of the common residents spotted it.

Forged in a body of ice, with eyes red as blood, these beings took their toll on war. Threatening to plunge mankind into a new ice age from above.

Areas upon Earth began to freeze over, and a mother and child tried to evade the cold air, but have froze on the spot. Then, an army of golden-armored beings ran through the area towards the invaders. The battle was vicious until it all fade to black.

The Asgardian army drove the Frost Ones back into the heart of their own world in the clouds, far separate from the victors' own homeland. In the end, the enemy's king Laufey fell. And the source of their power was taken from them.

The Casket of Ancient Winters, their homeland's power source, was picked up from its stand, just before their icy realm began to crumble, and fall apart, leaving it into ruin and desolation.

With the great war ending, the oldest story ever told, was written in the stars. Stories of time, when the Asgardians ruled above the Earth. These beings were powerful gods, each bearing and representing the natures of mankind: Thor became king of the heavens, and ruled over the strongest of storms, with his beloved queen Sif letting the plants grow and nourish; Balder, giving the sun to light the way, and Tyr, bestowing great strength in warfare. And tricksters, Loki and Lochila, aiming towards chaos and misery. In time, restlessness will come and, finally, rise up against them. In this world, a child was born. A girl who would change everything.

A little girl, around the age of 6, runs down the street. She wears a huge grin, and her short blonde hair bounces behind her. It was the first day of school, and she was so excited to go. The morning sun had just barely started peaking over the roofs of the city buildings, and the streets were already busy.

"Torunn!" A dark haired woman shouts from behind her. Torunn giggles and stops just long enough to turn and see the woman walking after her, before taking off running again. "Torunn slow down!"

"Mommy, come on!" The girl shouts back, waving her forward. "We're going to miss the bus." The girls mother shook her head and chuckled.

"No, we won't. We're early." She replied as she caught up with her daughter. Torunn started to turn and run again, but her mother grabbed her hand and held fast. "We won't be late." She reassured.

As they neared the bus stop, Torunn started hopping in excitement. "Look mom, the bus. It's the bus!" She started trying to run to the bus. Her mother stopped her and turned the girl to face her. Kneeling down to her level, she smiled and planted a kiss to her forehead. "Have fun, and be good." She said before kissing her cheek this time. "I love you."

"Love you too mommy." Torunn said quickly before she ran to the bus and stood in line to get on. She looked at her mom and smiled, waving, before an got on, and headed to school.

***

"Mom, can i start wearing makeup?" Torunn stared in the mirror and scrunched her face up. She would look so much better with it. At least she thought she would. "Mom?"

"What makes you think you need makeup?" Lochilla asked as she came to the bathroom door and leaned against its frame.

"Mom, I'm ugly. I need makeup. Besides, I'm 10 years old now." Torunn said matter of factly. Lochilla smiled and shook her head. She walked into the bathroom and got on her knees, looking in the mirror next to Torunn.

"You know what I see?" She asked as she looked at Torunn in the mirror. Lochilla grabbed the girls shoulder length hair and let it slip through her hand slowly. "I see a beautiful young lady, that doesn't need makeup. I see a young lady that is more beautiful without it." Torunn scoffed and rolled her eyes.

"You're just saying that because you're my mom." She said with a smile she was trying to fight off. Although she didn't think she was pretty, her mom, and everyone else seemed to think so.

"I'm saying it, because its true." Torunn turned and looked at her mother face to face, then smiled, and wrapped her arms around her neck in a tight hug. Torunn may have not believed she was pretty, but Lochilla knew, without a doubt, that she was beautiful, and that beauty would only get better as she grew.

***

"Torunn, what happened?" Lochilla asked, concern in her voice. The girl in question stopped her trek to her room and remained still. She knew her mother had seen the bruising, or She would have asked. "Torunn, what happened?" She asked again as she came up to the teenager anf placed her hand on her shoulder. Torunn lifted her head and looked at her mother, her face neutral. Her left cheek and underneath her eye were bruised.

"Some girl at school though it would be funny to hit the girl that doesn't fight. Just to see if she could get her to." Yes, Torunn hated confrontation, and she hated to fight, yet some girl try to get her to. Why, she didn't know. Lochilla looked in her daughter's eyes.

"Did you?" She asked, genuinely curious. Torunn shook her head and looked away from her mom.

"No, I didn't. You know I hate to fight mom." The girl adjusted her backpack and start to head to her room again, when her mother grabbed her hand and stopped her. "Mom, just let me go." Torunn said in irritation.

"Torunn, listen to me. One day, you're going to have to fight." Torunn just shook her head and pulled her hand from her mother's grasp.

"Not If I can help it." She said as she went into her room, shutting the door behind her. Lochilla stayed in the Sam spot and crossed her arms over her chest, shaking her head.

"Teenagers. If only she knew."

***

"Mom! Do you know where my charger is?" Torunn hollered from her room as she tossed articles of clothing over her shoulder. She was packing things up because she had rented an apartment of her own, and was going to start moving some of her things there.

"No, I don't." She said as she came into the room and looked around at the disaster. Her room normally stayed so clean and organized, and now, it looked as if a tornado hit it. She chuckled as she watched her daughter search through her disaster of a room for her phone charger. Torunn suddenly stopped and groaned in frustration, tossing a pair of pants into the corner of her room. "Why don't you take a break? Eat something?"

"I'm just trying to get everything done and organised before tonight." She replied as she started folding her clothes instead of looking for her charger.

"What's the rush?" Lochilla asked, hurt lacing her voice. Torunn stopped and looked up at her mother, suddenly feeling guilty. She tucked her long blonde hair behind her ear and stepped up to her mom, pulling her in a hug.

"I'm sorry, mom. Im not in a rush to get away, just to get everything ready to go." Her explanation probably wasn't any better. Lochilla wrapped her arms around Torunn and pulled her close. "I won't be gone forever, mom." She said as if to reassure her.

"I know, it's just had to believe that you're 19 now, and ready to go start your own life."

"It was bound to happen sooner or later." Torunn said as she pulled away and smiled warmly at the woman.

Nineteen years old. Nineteen. That was how long Lochila had been taking care of her. The blonde daughter of a god she once hated. It was all Loki's fault that got her in this mess. They were both punished, in a very different way: Him, eternal imprisonment; her, eternal motherhood. At first, she was disgusted to even look at the babe; hold her in her arms, as if she was the ugliest thing in the world. Her cries kept her up at night, and there were some days where she wanted to terminate, and be rid of it. However, whenever she heard laughter, there was a flutter in her stoned-up heart that she couldn't get rid of. It was a light shining through it, and that was when she realized that there was a bit of fondness for the child.

Every time, the little thing smiled or laughed, a crack would appear on Lochila's face, even without her realization. It was almost like the first time she had ever spotted a baby, but she ignored those. However, when she saw this one, disgust was on her, but now, she wasn't so sure. She's been to Earth many times during her and older brother's exploits, so she wasn't blind or deaf to the concept of raising babies, or children, for that matter. Not to mention, that on Asgard, there were plenty of them. For some reason, in her eyes, Torunn became one of the few Lochila would ever wave off. She was special, both literally and figuratively; a pure soul. There were even days where the goddess of mischief wanted her as her own. But she wasn't. Besides, there was nothing relatable between them; Torunn was someone who would be in the clouds, while Lochila would belong underground. That was the reality: she was pure, and she was not.

As the years passed, Lochila, eventually, internally-admitted that she adored the girl. From a babe, to the pre-adult she was now. They had moved from New Mexico, to New York City now, after Torunn had turned thirteen. From the small town in the desert, to the big city Lochila knew all too well. She figured that Torunn would fit in here, once she became an adult, and that day was today. Having to already live in a wealthy penthouse together, the girl found her own apartment to move into. Truth be told, the goddess didn't want her leave from her sight, since she's someone who's not originally from this world and, how protective she was, there were times where Lochila would spy on her with her magic, in order to know where she was at all times. But she couldn't follow her for long, since her magic is slightly weaker on Earth, than how it is back in Asgard. In additional, she hated to keep lying to her, as well; that her whole life spent on Earth wasn't exactly true, and that she was never her real mother to begin with. These were things she couldn't tell her, not yet. So, as the goddess of deceit, things were to remain concealed from girl's sight.

The woman was on a professional call with one of her co-workers from a job she had to sneak into, in order to keep their lives together. Torunn would sometimes ask her how they got this rich, but the goddess said that it was "a well-paid position" (though the truth was that she got herself inside through magical influence). The news on the hugely-dimensioned tv nearby has been going through, since morning, and Lochila's been on the phone, since that said-morning. Taking a glance at the framed picture of herself and Torunn taking a selfie nearby on her desk, she smirked at the memory before going back to talking.

Torunn sighed heavily as she waited at the red light, her finger tapping impatiently against the steering wheel. Though she loved the city, having grown up in it, she also despised it because of how much more crowded it seemed now that she was older. She was currently on her way to her mom's to visit. It had been several months since she had left, and it had already been too long since she had seen her. Most kids can't wait to grow up and move out, away from their parents. Although it was an exciting thought, moving out in her own, she knew she would miss her mom sooner rather than later.

The light finally turned green, and Torunn followed the line of cars turning right. She reached down and turned the music on her radio up, lightly nodding her head to the beat, and singing the words softly. Her Windows were down, allowing the spring breeze to blow through the car, as well as the smell of the city that most people thought was putrid. Torunn had grown up around it, and was accustomed to it. At least in this area. There were probably areas that smelled worse than others, places she hadn't been to yet. There were also the sky scrapers that blocked the sun from lighting the city up; warming it up. It was all alright though, because... She had grown accustomed to the city life.

Several minutes later, Torunn pulled into a parking spot in front of her mom's building, and killed her car, pulling the keys out of the ignition. She grabbed her phone, and as she got out, slid it into her back pocket. Shutting the door, she hit the lock button on her key remote, effectively locking her car up, and made her way around it to the sidewalk. She walked up to the building and pulled the glass door open, and went inside. Torunn waved at the receptionist at the front desk, who smiled and nooded, then went back to work.

Torunn hit the 'up' button to call for the elevator, and waited until the doors opened. She stepped inside and hit the number for her mom's floor, watching the doors close. With a heavy sigh, Torunn leaned against the wall of the elevator and closed her eyes. Butterflies started fluttering in her stomach as the elevator made its way up, and as soon as it came to a stop, the butterflies were gone. She stepped out and walked down the hall until she came to her mom's door. Of course, it was the only door in the hall. She had a whole floor to herself.

Torunn reached up and knocked on her door, waiting for her to answer. "Mom, open up!" She called as she put her finger over the peephole so she couldn't see out of it. Torunn chuckled and sunk into her hip. Her keys jingled lightly in the hand that was currently being used to cover the peephole. With her other hand, she started knocking again, this time, without stopping until she answered.

Lochila was in the middle of the call for another hour that afternoon, and part of her wondered if she should listen to the person on the receiving end. Tracing her emerald-green eyes around the room, the raven-black haired woman did just that: Listened (though her powers of hypnosis have been doing most of the work to control the people within her job). If she ever used those said-powers, her eyes glow brighter in that natural green color, implying that the said-power is in effect upon the person on the receiving end. It was the easiest way to earn the highest pay of living on Earth a little longer. The more money, the longer she would be able to support Torunn, who just moved out a few months ago. Twirling the pen in her hand, the goddess stood up for her seat at the large desk, and wrote down an important notice on her calendar. After making the note, the glow in her eyes faded, going back to their natural-dim tone. She ended the call, shortly after.

Looking back at the framed selfie picture of her and a blonde, sixteen year-old girl, the goddess made that fond smirk again, until she heard a knock at her penthouse door. Straightening her black, designed dress that's been hugging her frame, Lochila strolled to the door in her black heels, already smirking at the voice she'd known all too well. Putting an ear to the door, she delicately looked through the peephole, but to find it blocked, a part of her knew that the action was intended by that said-someone. The black-haired woman chuckled in amusement, until she then heard the repetitive knocking coming from the nineteen year-old. 'And I thought I was the one made for trouble', Lochila mused, before gripping the doorknob, and pulled. "Alright! Message received", she drawled, playfully groaning with a smirk on her face, just as she opened the door.

As promised, Torunn continued knocking on the door until her mom answered. It took a moment, but when she heard her on the other side, and pulled the door open, she stopped. When she saw her mom, her smile widened and she immediately threw her arms around the womans neck, pulling her into a hug. It was probably a bit too dramatic of a hug, but Torunn didn't care. It had been long enough for her to miss her mother, and so she felt the need to display that fact. "I've missed you. As hard as that is to believe." She said as she finally released her and stepped around her, heading inside.

"Most kids are happy as hell to be out of their parents house and in their own, which I am..." She trailed off as she went into the living room and sat down on the couch. "I just miss you. Its weird coming home and you not being there." Torunn rubbed the couch cushion with the palm of her hand and stared down at it as the fabric of the cover got darker where she had ran her hand over. "It's quiet. I almost miss your nagging." She said with a little laugh, but was completely serious.

Lochila willingly returned the hug that the girl immediately gave her and, truth be told, she had missed those loving hugs that the golden-haired teenager have always given her, growing up. It was one of those maneuvers that made the goddess grow fond of her in the first place. Watching Torunn walk by, the black-haired woman closed the door, once the girl made her full entrance to the couch. She continued to give that fond, motherly smile to her, even as Torunn remarked about one of those "child-moving-out-of-the-house" phenomenas. But it disappeared into more of a motherly concern, as the teenager confessed about her homesickness.

The heels worn on the goddess' feet lightly clicked on the smooth pavement of the penthouse, as she made her way towards that empty spot, where Torunn had previously put her hand. Lochila lightly chuckled at her afterthought, confirming while understanding her, like how she always did. Looking down at the blonde, the woman put an arm around her shoulder and, using her hand, she placed it on the side of her head, and gently pulled her in, allowing her to lean into her chest, and rest there.

Once Lochila did so, her green eyes went to the huge plasma television in front of them. The news have going on about severe weather all week, but the goddess internally figured that Thor was in one of his foul moods. However, to find these weather phenomenas happening randomly, it became mildly different than how it usually is on Earth. It was happening all around the country, as well as the world. Nothing was happening in New York, so Lochila didn't worry, though was concerned for the city she and Torunn were currently in.

Torunn watched as her mother came around the couch she occupied and sat next to her where she had been rubbing the cushion. A small smile pulled at her lips as her mother's arm snaked around her shoulders. Her smile widened when the woman gently pulled her head down to her chest, allowing Torunn to lay her head there. Torunn's own arms slid around her mother's torso, and she closed her eyes, listening to her smooth, heart beat. It was one of those sounds that she always found comfort in when she was upset.

Torunn stayed laying on her mother's chest for several minutes, soaking it all in. After all, now that she was moved out, it was something she missed. She opened her eyes and slowly pulled herself back up into a sitting position, smiling at her mom. "So," she began as she tucked her hair behind her ear and chuckled. "Been staying busy?" Her eyes glanced towards the muted t.v., then back to her mom. She too had noticed the odd change in the weather. Every now and again, she would watch the news, but didn't think too much about it. It was the weather, and it acted strange sometimes.

Lochila lifted her head from the comfort of Torunn's hair, when the girl turned her gaze to the muted television. The weatherman stood outside, in a rainy area somewhere in Maine, before the map showed a radar of the east coast. The screen changed again to another weatherman in a chopper, who showed an area in Los Angeles. It was the image of the camera turning towards two tornadoes in a distance away from the flying vehicle. Wait, two tornadoes?! The goddess felt herself fill herself up with a creeping feeling that made the scenario become more than it seemed. She ignored Torunn's question, as she reached forward towards the television remote, and unmuted the volume.

"...if you look over there behind me, that's a-a tornado! Yes, a twister in Los Angeles! It's one of the many of tornadoes! There's another one! It's magnificent; it's beautiful! I've never seen anything like it!"

The weatherman was shouting now, since the wind of the weather phenomenon made it extremely for him to talk. The high wind made the footage appear shakey, and before the man could speak further, the goddess changed the channel to another, regarding the weather. San Francisco, intense heat; Colorado, flash freezing; and Mexico, severe lightning. Strange, more lightning strikes than usual, the goddess thought, as she looked on at the tv.

Torunn sat upright and looked at her mom when she suddenly reached for the remote, turning the volume up on the television. She again, turned her attention to the news and her brow furrowed. There were two tornadoes in Los Angeles. Two. Hurricanes, yes. But tornadoes? It was definitely odd. Her mom then changed the channel, each one speaking of odd weather behavior in other places of the U.S. "what the hell is going on?" She asked out loud to no one in particular.

She watched on for a moment longer before shaking her head in disbelief, and getting up from the couch. She made her way into the kitchen to get a drink, and flipped on the light switch. As soon as she did, the light flashed bright, then the bulb exploded. The sudden noise startled Torunn, and she stopped in her tracks and looked up at the light. The bulb was covered, so there wasn't shattered glass on the floor. That was a plus. "Hmm..." Torunn looked at her mom and chuckled nervously, pointing to the light. "Sorry mom. Do you have any more bulbs?"

Lochila didn't jump at the noise that was coming from the kitchen, but she did make the same startled noise that her daughter made. She turned her head from the screen, behind her, where she saw Torunn chuckling nervously. One thought was going through her mind: Was it really happening? Is she of age? The thoughts made her come to the conclusion that it was girl's first encounter of experiencing her powers. The goddess looked at the light that just went out, as she thought about it. She briefly dismissed it before answering back to her. "They're under the sink", she said, before going back to the television. What is going on? What was going on; up there?

Just before she could register a possibility, a giant flash happened right outside the outstretched, nearby window of the penthouse; not too far from where the goddess was sitting. Then, thunder came; a loud one. Until another flash came, once again. Lochila was startled again. Just what is going on?

Nodding to her mom's response, Torunn walked ive to the sink and opened the cabinet doors beneath it. Kneeling down, she spotted the box of bulbs easily and quickly. Her mom kept it so neat and organized under her sink. Her own, was horrible. She would have to move things around sometimes depending on what she was looking for. Torunn grabbed the box of bulbs in one hsnd, and closed the cabinet doors as she rose back to her feet.

She had just started to open the box when a bright light flashed in the window her mom was sitting next to. It had been so bright, and so close, that all she saw when it flashed, was white. The sudden massive rumble of thunder soon followed, shaking the penthouse and causing Torunn to jump in surprise once again. Her wide eyes turned to the window, then back to her mom, just as another flash of light blinded her. "Holy shh... crap." Torunn said as she quickly caught, and corrected herself before she cursed.

Shaking her head, she turned her attention back to the task at hand, and finished opening the box. Reaching in, she grabbed one out by the bulb end, then went to grab the other end with her other hand. As soon as her hand and the threaded end of the bulb connected, that bulb too, exploded. In her hand. Glass shattered and flew several feet before falling and hitting the ground. Luckily, none stuck in her hand or anywhere else. Torunn, stared wide eyed at the now shattered bulb she still held in her hand.

She was speechless for a moment, just... staring at what remained. Torunn swallowed hard and quickly set the remainder of the bulb on the counter. Her eyes then moved to the box that contained 2 other bulbs, and again, she stared. "Mom?" Torunns brow furrowed and she bit her lip. She reached back into the box and pulled out another bulb, by the glass dome again. Flipping it upside down, she placed it on the counter, and stepped back.

Torunn removed her light jacket and moved it in front of her, holding it up to her eyes. She inched her finger towards the threaded end, and again, it exploded as soon as her finger made contact with it. Torunn had lifted the jacket just before she touch it, but could hear the glass explode. What the hell? She slowly lowered the jacket and stared at the remains of the second bulb, in disbelief. There's no way that could happen twice in a row. She was tempted to try for a third time, but didn't. "Uhm, mom? What the he'll just happened?"

Lochila was so busy trying to register the strange changes in the weather, she didn't even notice Torunn trying to change the bulb for the kitchen light. Sure, she can hear the girl tinkering with the light bulbs, but the goddess didn't expect another explosion to go off, and then another. She was just as the blonde was, and the black-haired woman approached her in a slightly cautious fashion, as she was wary of Torunn's newfound capabilities. Maybe Thor's inherited power got transferred to his offspring?, she internally wondered, even after the girl asked her what was going on; how she was capable to do this? The goddess had to let deceit come first, in order to protect her. She looked at the glass-induced mess all over the kitchen counter and the floor at Torunn's feet.

"It's okay, sweetie", she reassured her. "Must be bad light bulbs accumulated to the moisture underneath the sink. I'll get some new ones tomorrow, and hopefully, replace them soon enough", after nineteen years, Lochila did find this method not being at all a smart one, but how can she explain that she was the daughter of a god, who ruled a legendary world, above Earth? Would she even believe her? Walk away?

Torunn noticed her mom approaching her as if she would explode too if she touched her. With a raised eyebrow, she kept her eyes on her mom, even as she explained that the bulbs had blown up due to accumulated moisture? She had never heard of a bulb exploding when someone touched it because of moisture. Then again, maybe it was just that. Something she had never heard of. Why was her mom being so cautious of her then?

"Hey, therea still one bulb in the box." Torunn said as she nodded her head towards said box, her eyes never leaving her mom. "Maybe you'll have better luck changing the bulb." In fact, Torunn was curious as to whether the same thing would happen if her mom touched the bulb, or if it was just her. If it was just her, what was wrong with her? Not even a little bit of static electricity she may have gotten from the couch was enough to do that to a light bulb. Much less 2 of them. Plus the one she had flipped on.

"It's ok?" She asked, a littme delayed. Torunn laughed nervously and held her hand out, palm up, morning to the glass all over the place. "How is this ok? I just blew up 2 light bulbs just by touching them! Plus that one!" She exclaimed as she then pointed above their heads where the first one had been. "How is this ok?" She repeated, a hint of hysteria in her voice.

Lochila had just managed to reach the girl, even as she demanded a reasonable answer for this recent event. Towering over Torunn, the goddess attempted to reassure her by stroking her upper arms. Her emerald eyes looked into cornflower-blue. "Fragile things, honey. It was just moisture. Just moisture and humidity", she repeated, with a green glow in the pupils of her eyes; her hypnotizing spell in effect. She hated to use her magic on the girl, but it was the only thing she could do to protect her from the truth. Even if Torunn found out, the black-haired woman will hesitate on how to explain it clearly for her. How could you tell a child whom you have raised on Earth to believe in something that was otherworldly? "It's late. Get rest", she softly told her, using the spell to keep the blonde relaxed from her hysteria.

Torunn looked up at her mom when she came to her. She had to look up at the woman, the height difference between them, quite a bit. With wide eyes, Torunn shook her head quickly back and forth, still not believing what her mom was saying. It was bull. She could feel the woman rubbing her arms, trying to comfort her, but all it did was make her want to pull away.

Then, her head shaking slowed until her head was still, and she was looking into her mother's eyes. She lost focus for a moment, but didn't really realize she had. Her panic slowly subsided and she felt herself at peace. A small smile spread across her lips and she started nodding, slowly. "Just moisture." She repeated after her mother.

She heard her mom tell her to get rest, and seconds later, she was released from the hypnosis. Torunn took a deep breath and looked down, then looked back up at her mom. Her smile widened a bit. No longer was she worried that something was wrong with her. That she was the one that had caused the bulbs to break. Torunn really believed that it truly was the moisture and humidity.

"Yeah... yeah I'll do that." She finally replied after a moment of comfortable silence. Torunn looked around and saw the shattered glass everywhere, and gasped. "Oh, here, let me clean this up first." She said quickly as she fetched the broom and dustpan. The task only took her moments, and before she knew it, she was dumping the glas shards into the trash. She replaced the broom and dustpan and went to her mom. Torunn wrapped her arms around the woman, hugging her tight.

She missed this too. Her mom's hugs were always so warm and comforting. Pulling away from her, Torunn smiled up at her and made her way to her old bedroom. She would take a short nap, and then be on her way.

The boldness of green within Lochila's eyes faded back to its normal state of dimness, once the goddess felt satisfied that Torunn was able to calm down and forget what happened. She quietly sighed in relief, closing her eyes for a moment, before turning her attention back to the blonde girl before her. Relieved that she was following her suggestions, Lochila had to think to all of the times she had to use her hypnotizing spell upon her. Lochila had the upper advantage since Toruun always looked up and made eye contact with her, like every child would for their parents. But the benefit of doing such an action was to prevent the blonde from knowing the real truth, having to "erase" every moment that might contradict to her true heritage, and replace it with a "suggestion".

Watching Torunn pick up the glass from upon the floor, the black-haired goddess took notice upon another lightning strike outside the huge window. This one was less-intense than the last one; the one that almost lit up the entire room. All that ran in her mind was Thor. Was he in another one of his moods? Or was this something entirely different? The drastic change in the weather was incredibly not common, especially since it's beyond the Thunder God's capacity to go beyond the limit of how much Earth should receive.

Her preoccupied thoughts were then cut off once again, as soon as she felt the girl wrap her arms around her. With a small fonding smile, Lochila completed the embrace, before letting her arms cup Torunn's face, and lean down to place a loving kiss on her forehead. Setting her chin on top of the girl's head, the goddess completed the hug. For a good moment or two, Lochila let her go, and watched her walk away into her old room that she used to reside in, before she moved out.

Even though she held an inner happiness for her to at least get rest, she turned her attention back to the dimensioned-television that showed the report of having so much lightning strikes in one day. Lochila removed her heels before letting both of her legs rest upon the sofa that sits before the TV. What are you doin up there, Thor?, she wondered to herself.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Outside, a few yards away from the penthouse, another big flash of lightning appeared, along with thunder, as well as another flash coming immediately after. Then another one, as something began to fall from the clouds. It twirled as it fell, appearing almost like an approaching meteorite. It was making its way to Central Park, about a few blocks away from the penthouse. Nobody was there (most likely due to the emergency weather system), explaining its desertion. The falling object finally landed on the walkway in the park, where it created a large crater within the asphalt. It's blade pierced deep into the ground, with its handle sticking upwards...
As Torunn entered her old room, she felt along the wall beside the bedroom door until she found the light switch, and flipped it on. She entered the room and looked around. Her bed was still there, but it looked completely different than when it used to be hers. A small smile broke across her face. Mom had turned it into a guest room. It was nice though, and looked cozy as hell.
Torunn shut the door behind her and sat down on the bed. Yep, it was still cushiony as ever. She bounced on it a few times, giggling at herself and shaking her head. Leaning over, Torunn removed her shoes and socks, setting them aside. She then stood and removed her pants, draping them across a chair that sat next to the bed. Her bra was next, and removing it without taking her shirt off was a bit of a task, but she managed. After she was comfortable, the girl crawled under the covers and got comfy. It wasn't long before she was asleep.
At some point in the middle of the night, Torunn woke up to roll over. Only, she also realized that she needed to use the bathroom. With a heavy sigh of irritation (since her sleep got interrupted), she tossed the covers off of her and got out of bed. Groggy as hell, Torunn made her way to the bathroom in the hall. It was just outside her bedroom, so it wasn't a far walk.
She opened the door and felt for the switch. Once she found it, she flipped it on. The light turned on, but seconds later, it got really bright, and Torunn had to shut her eyes from the intensity. There was even a humming sound that sounded like electricity, that came from the bulb. And then, it exploded. It had all happened so fast and so unexpectedly, that it had caused Torunn to scream.
She jumped back, her hand over her heart, the organ beating twice as fast from the scare. "Mom!" The girl shouted as she backed herself against the hallway wall, her breathing becoming faster. Torunn stood there, in the dark, staring into the dark bathroom. Had she done that? Surely not. "Mom!" She shouted again, as she leaned over, trying to catch her breath.
Lochila retired to bed around a quarter to eleven pm, while hoping that this incident will be the last. She couldn't keep using her magic to conceal every bit of the truth and, sooner enough than later, Torunn will find out about her real heritage; that she's not from this world; that she's not even human. She would gladly keep using her spells, but on Earth, her powers get weaker, contrasting their strength back in Asgard. There was just no limits to the powers there. The question remains, though: What were the lengths of Thor's power down here? Why is there so much more lightning than usual?
The woman turned onto her side; her raven-black hair splaying down her mid-back, along with her short black nightgown, the goddess wasn't getting any sleep after today's events. Too many thoughts repeated themselves within her mind: The light bulbs exploding were of Torunn's doing; her first experience of witnessing her dormant power that are of resemblance to her father.
All of a sudden, that scream heard from the other side of her door made her snapped her back to reality very quickly. Flipping the covers off her, Lochila ran out, and found Torunn hunched over in the hallway, just nearby the bathroom. "Sweetheart?", she called, before dashing towards her, and placing her hands on the girl's shoulders. "Torunn", this time, softly. "Look at me, what happened?", it would have been a stupid question to ask because she heard the explosion, and what it meant. "What happened?", she repeated, placing her hands on her upper arms now, trying to comfort her to the best of her ability.
At first, she didn't hear her mom. Didn't hear her call out to her, or come to her. It wasn't until she felt her mom's hands on her shoulders, and heard her calling her name, that she finally registered that her mom was actually there. Torunn gasped and shot up, her head nearly hitting the wall. Her frantic eyes found her mother's calm ones, and she shook her head. "The light!" She exclaimed as she pointed to the bathroom.  "I flipped it on, and it got real real bright, then exploded."
Torunn grabbed her mother's upper arms, her grasp tight, and she felt herself start to shake. "I could hear the electricity running to it. The humming." Due to her mom's unknown hypnosis, this was her "first" time experiencing the phenomenon. To say it freaked her out, was the understatement of the century. Torunns breathing had started to get harder and faster, and she felt like she was going to pass out. "What the hell happened? I've never seen a light do that before. Ive never heard a light like that before. Not from a lightbulb."
Torunn closed her eyes and tried concentrating on her mom's presence. On only her mom. She was here for her, and the light had to be some freak accident. It took a few seconds, but she finally started to feel herself calm down. Her heart started to slow, as did her breathing. Torunn took a deep breath and swallowed hard. Opening her eyes again, she looked over her mom's shoulder, and into the bathroom. After a second, her eyes met her mom's, and she just stared at her, her brows furrowed. For some reason, it all seemed familiar, but she wasn't sure if it was reality, deja vu, or a dream.
