I watched as my dog jumped into the air, attempting to attack the woman who assaulted my phone. I looked at her, then my dog, to her again, then back to my dog. All I could think of was hitting this woman in the face if she touched my phone again. The problem was... my dog was still in the way.

My gaze drifted across the living room, my stomach rumbling. Honestly I couldn't remember the last time I ate. At the same time, I didn't care. Was getting up to eat worth missing a few minutes of Gilmore Girls? I wasn't sure. Did I want to find out? Hunger gnawed at my stomach, creating rippling pains within my abdomen.

"I need to go eat!" I shouted confidently, though no one was home but me and my dog. Where did he run off to? I hadn't seen him in a while. When was the last time I fed him? I hoped my dog was okay as I pushed myself up and shuffled over to the kitchen.

There it was, my pearly white refrigerator. I went to the store the previous day, so I was sure there would be something to eat. I moved to open the fridge, but something stopped me.

I looked down. My dog was jumping onto the fridge, his paws touching the cool surface. He looked happy- or, was it hungry?- as he eyed me and the refrigerator. He was hungry, but so was I. I needed that food.

I walked my dog down the street. I was quite a lovely day. The sun was shining, birds chirping, children playing, everything one would imagine when thinking of a perfectly sunny day. In my hand, I held a piece of purple cloth that led to my dog's collar. We both enjoyed sunny days like this. In a way, I felt we understood each other, that we were no longer woman and dog, but instead animal and animal, creature and creature, life and life, and even soul and soul. We happily walked down the sidewalk.

Suddenly, without warning, a bicyclist biked his way towards us. He wasn't going fast at all and even rang his bell to give us a fair warning.

I moved to the grass, though my dog didn't follow me. He was still in the path of the snail-like bicyclist.

As I tried to get ready for work Mojito gets in front of my closet whimpering and begging me not to leave.
