Myrath, also known as the Starlands, is a large imperial kingdom located in the southernmost region of Ardacia. It is known for its diverse geography ranging from the rocky wall-like mountains to the soft rolling hills and riverlands, its expansive melting pot of culture, and their devotion to the god of embers, Solaris, who is represented by the dawnstar.

The people of The Starlands are ethically, culturally, and ideologically diverse. For centuries upon centuries, the many ethnic cultures of Myrath have coexisted peacefully together as one national identity and one people. To generalize, this can be summarized in three divides that currently make up the contemporary denizens of the realm: the Magnarian nomads who migrated to Ardacia in search of a new and fertile homeland, the native Nokonian people whom track their ancestry back to the prehistoric โEarthmenโ who inhabited the region, and the Imperial invaders who conquered and unified the realm under Ardall the Great.

Culture in the Starlands has always been fluid, an ever-changing dance of distinctly different views, personalities, and expression that has come to define what is now called the Kingdom of Myrath. Imperial conquest and assimilation is not the sole contributor to this identity as the intimate relationship between the Magnarians and Nokonians dates back several centuries to an accord that not only ended an uneasy war but also led to an alliance that would eventually lead to the merging of two very different kingdoms several centuries later. By the time of Ardall the Greatโs voyage and subsequent conquest of Ardacia, the Magnarians and Nokonians in the Starlands had become so familiar with one another that they were in the middle of a period of cultural advancement that made them one of the more prosperous kingdoms on the continent. But as history proves, unity does not stop imperial steel and military tactics.
Imperial influence took well in the Kingdom of Myrath, though occupation by foreign invaders did make integration initially a difficult challenge. It is only in the last few centuries of imperial rule that assimilation of imperial people in the Starlands has been accepted; an acceptance that subsequently led to the development of a new language known as โcommonโ. Ironically, the development of the imperial language seems all for naught as in recent years the empire has ceased to be. Though if this phenomenon is temporary or permanent remains to be seen.
Beyond language, it is expected that in the kingdom one will find cultural norms and nuances of all the three main ethnic peoples with some trends being stronger in certain areas. Ultimately the values and ideologies of the people are still particularly Magnarian and Nokonian due to how relatively new Imperial idiosyncrasies are in the region. Whilst the beliefs, art, and overall culture of these two groups remain the dominating influential group of society one could argue the contributions of imperial sciences, medicine, tactics, and infrastructure have been just as vital and important to the continuing development of the Starlands. But technological contributions are not the whole of an identity of a culture, even a melting pot. The folk and classical music of Myrath still focuses on instruments such as bagpipes, viol, lute, and many others to celebrate its identity and majority of citizens of the realm tend to not think much of imperial arts or holidays; though if they do consider them, they value the traditions of olde far more.

Due to the relatively large size, moderate wealth, and relatively populated demesne it is safe to assume that the King or Queen of Myrath can call upon around 30,000 โ 45,000 swords from its vassals and personal levies. Accommodating the wealth of the region for hireswords is also a factor, but very rarely does the King (or Queen, in some cases) put out much stock in such commodities.

The capital of the Kingdom of Myrath, Myrรกndais serves as a center of trade, culture, and faith for much of southern Ardacia. The city is not only home to House Gothlunmir but also the Grand Cleric of Embers, the most significant religious leader in the southernmost regions of the continent.

The Celestial Cathedral The seat of the Solari faithful and the Grand Cleric of Embers, The Celestial Cathedral is the second-most important and iconic structure in the city of Myrรกndais sitting behind the royal castle of Gothstadt. The majority of contemporary nobility have been anointed within the hall of embers and as such reinforcing the religious support of rule. The earliest existence of the Celestial Cathedral dates back several centuries following an accord signed by Theuderic II Gothlunmir and Coinneach IV Eoghain; an effort that in combination with the marriage between the houses signified the beginning of a union between Magnarians and Nokonians.

โPass the Flameโ The House Words of the Gothlunmir Dynasty represent a spirit of faith, nobility, honor, and diligence; they reference both the God of Embers, Solaris, as well as what every member of the house recognizes as a blood oath to not only the people that landed on the shores of Myrรกndais but the native people they came to live side-by-side with in their new homeland. A member of House Gothlunmir understands their purpose to share the warmth of the flame for the betterment of all man.
