New Beginnings and Stronger Bonds

A thread for myself and Noxxis.

So we gotta figure out a starting point we're both happy with. I think we decided post-anime yeah?

Yes we did, so Kagura and Yuki go to the same university? Maybe remind me who was the other pairing? Kyo and who?

Nvm I just looked. Okay so to start off maybe Momiji visits Tohru at the university since Momiji is the only one who would still be in high school?

Kagura would be a year ahead of Yuki and Tohru, and Momiji would be a year behind them but it's possible we could put Kagura in her third year of university with Tohru and Yuki already in their second, with Momiji starting his?

Going by Japanese standards of universities, most students tend to have more free time as well as take up part time jobs since junior and senior high school was typically pretty rigid and restrained with personal time and hobbies, only making time for clubs/sports if not then study time. Since a university pretty much dictates what kind of employer will hire you, it tends to give students more free time to have fun now that the worst is pretty much over, academically speaking.

Maybe Yuki and Kagura start a club together? I assume Kyo wouldn't bother with more school and maybe he dropped out, much to Kagura's disappointment? She could turn to Yuki who has always been a good confidant? Maybe Tohru is able to show Momiji around, I see her being one of the folks who gives tours and helps out incoming students. Of course any romance will be gradual but it'll be interesting to see how dynamics play together.

That sounds good to me! Haha I can totally see that happening. We can start it with Kagura like approaching Yuki about the idea of starting a club, maybe a gardening club?

That would work for me.

Are we considering everyone probably has their own apartment maybe?

[Noxxis]

Or they stay on campus in the dorms. Maybe the females live on one floor and the males on the other?

[Tranquility]

Okay.

So maybe it's a small university? I don't think they ever established what city the show takes place in but we can figure that out or decide. Maybe someplace up north so they can have snow and hotsprings? I think the anime does have snow and hotsprings so I think our best bet would be to say they are someplace north then.

That works for me. I don't know much about Japan but I can look up some cities if you like so we can decide.

Sure, my two suggestions would be Yokote or Morioka. And I pretty much do a ton of research and talk to folks who have been there, it's fun research. -laughs-

Either one is fine with me, I looked it up and it kept bringing up large cities which I don't know if that's what we are going for so I'll just take your word for it. Why don't we go with Yokote, that's a pretty city name. Yep, I chose it because it's pretty. :)

Yeah I wanted something smaller but none had universities. -sighs-

Oh well, Yokote works for me! And they seem to have a cool festival too.

So Kagura will be approaching Yuki about starting a gardening club.

And Tohru will probably be helping Momiji settle into his own dorm room and getting used to the campus setting.

And it'll be like August or September? Did we have a year in mind? I think it was set back in the 90s or something like that?

That works for me and if the original was set in the 90s we can make this one set like late 90s-early 00s possibly?

Sure thing. I'll try to get something up tomorrow or Sunday, I suddenly have a lot on my plate. -laughs- But it's nice to have something to do while I aimlessly job hunt.

Sounds good :) I know what you mean I'm going to be spending a good chuck of my time tomorrow running errands so I fee you.

At least you have a reason to leave the house. I only go out to get the mail. I'd gladly go run your errands if you want to do chores around the house. -laughs-

I don't even do chores around my own apartment unless I talk myself into it haha. I hate cleaning. Like the place never gets too dirty since it's just me but still. I definitely live like a bachelor.

I don't mind cleaning, well it depends on the chore but music helps. Seems to me like you need a Tohru in your life to clean up for you. -laughs- Hopefully there is some order to your chaos.
