A diner upper Long Island.

Atop the diner, unbeknownst to the normal patrons, is a pair of reinforced chairs and a table. Seated in one of the chairs is a tall man, many would be surprised to see him here. It was the hero known as General Freedom. A large mug of coffee sat between his hands, his mask and cowl off, his hair ruffled by the slight breeze.

"Well . . ." said the small, wizened man who sat across from the hero.

"Look Marco . . ."

"No, you look. Steve, I have known you a hell'uva long while. I remember when your sorry ass was about to ring the bell and quit Bud/s training. I also saw the grit and fire that fills you. You didn't quit." Marco, a smallish man, flinty-eyed and hard as granite, sipped some of the strong coffee and spoke again. His voice low, "Look if you want to hang it up, stop being a hero, fine. But do it because it's your choice."

Steve said nothing as he sipped his own, massive cup of coffee. He had contemplated the end of his career, had figured with the rise of the new generation of heroes, he'd retire.

"I have a place out in Montana, a nice spread about 1,000 acres and several hundred head of cattle. I figured I could take up ranching."

Marco pursed his lips, saying nothing.

After a minute he said, "What the hell do you know about cattle ranching?"

Steve grinned, "Nothing."

Marco was about to say something when the door to the roof opened with a bang. Carmelita, Marco's oldest daughter rushed out, her cell phone blaring. The expression on her face forced both men to sit straighter as she approached.

"Daddy, Steve, you need to hear this." She jimmied the phone and replayed the news broadcast.

When it finished both men sat in silence, shared a glance. As he stood, Steve pulled his mask on, and his body began to glow a bluish color.

"I guess your ranching days will have to wait?" Marco deadpanned as General Freedom launched himself skyward. Looking at his daughter, he nodded toward the large mug, "Let's go. I have a feeling we'll be closing early tonight."

It wasn't far, but far enough that Steve would not be able to save those caught in the fiery blast.

When he finally arrived, General Freedom stared at the carnage below him. Debris and twisted remnants of first responder’s vehicles lay strew in an arc. He stared at the crater that lay beneath him, Steve felt a tightness in his throat. The clouds of smoke and dust obscured his vision, they denied a clear view of the man responsible for this.

General Freedom drifted lower, as he did he grimaced. Before him was the crumbled remains of a police cruiser. The black and white paint job unrecognizable on the hunk of compressed metal. Only the mournful wail of the siren told him what it was. The thick dust filled his mouth. The stench of death filled his nose. All thoughts of retirement had faded, now he focused on what he had to do., he had to stop The Splatterer.

Daniel had been stalking Kelly Marston for some time now, her power to shoot out bone spikes was intriguing, he had often wondered how much fun it would be to play with them, to conjure spikes and blades as often as one blinks. She was a relatively accomplished hero publicly, and even privately, but he saw her for what she truly was. A monster, a villain, and she needed to be stopped.

She spent a lot of time around her heroic friends, even worked with a couple in their secret identities, and he could even recognize most of them. He wagered he could probably take them all, but in the process they’d call out to someone bigger, someone he wouldn’t be able to handle, so he waited for her to separate herself, and followed her all the way up to the roof.

Kelly Marston, aka Spearhead. Daniel said with his telepathy, broadcasting himself into her mind. Alarmed she turned quickly, and horror painted her face as she saw Daniel’s blood coated armor.

“Y-you’re Lieutenant Hurley, wait! Stop! You were a hero!” Kelly said, she backed up close, right up to the railing; she had dropped her cigarette down onto the streets below.

“Remember who you are! We fought together! Whatever this is you can fight it!” Kelly continued to plead as she shifted her arms slowly, and then suddenly shot out a spike from her forearm.

Daniel dodged to the side slightly and caught the spike; he let out a low laugh before he rushed into Spearheads face, grabbed her by the neck, and stuck her spike through her chest. His laugh began to increase in volume as he repeatedly stabbed her with her own spike, a fresh coating of blood painted his body again. Daniel began to reach for his knife before he stopped himself, too late, she had already died. He threw her body over the railing and began to walk off, but something stopped him.

A voice coming from slightly underneath him, distressed, panicked, it was an emergency news report playing off Spearheads dropped phone. Whether it was due to his old heroic spirit, or his new state he couldn’t tell, but he quickly reached for it.

And Daniel saw his newest target, The Splatterer, he couldn’t remember if Captain Explosion was a hero before or after his time, but it didn’t matter. He was a monster, a terrible villain, and he needed to be stopped. Daniel’s mouth widened into a smile underneath his helmet, he then broke into a sprint and jumped off the roof, and he continued to repeat until he got closer to Times Square. He smelt it long before he actually saw it, the smoke clouds and screams permeating the area drew his attention, even on the edge of the event Daniel could feel the fear growing. It was enticing; to gain The Splatterer’s powers would be…

Evvie’s wings beat powerfully against the air as she soared towards the skies over the city, her keen purple eyes picking up the glittering buildings on the horizon, a curl of smoke rising above them. She happened to have been patrolling the skies nearby when she heard the commotion lighting up her phone. It took her over 100 years to finally cave in and buy one and another month to figure out how to use it, but was glad that she had. Every second counted in an emergency. She didn’t bother answering the phone, seeing the text messages being good enough to inform her what was going on and where she should be. Besides, if she had answered, the intense wind would drown out anything she was trying to say. For now she just needed to focus on flying.

Her wings pushed to the limit as she continued forward. On the downside they would be very tired by the time she would arrive, but the rest of her body was raring to go. She would just have to make due as she always did. Ahead of her she spotted another figure rapidly approaching the scene at a rate quicker than her. She would arrive around 30 seconds after he did. As she drew closer she breathed fire onto her amulet, becoming a sparkling flame in the sky as her body was enveloped within dragon styled armor.

With that she would attempt to land feet first onto the head of the villain responsible for this mess should he be standing out in the open when she arrived.

The miasma of concrete dust danced around him. The sickening stench of death lingered. General Freedom touched down. Beneath him the detritus shifted as he surveyed the extent of the damage. It was in a word, horrific.

His blue energy shield flared. Around his fists, a cascade of blue rippled and cracked. A guttural sound. A hoarse nastiness filled the air. Inhuman? No, it was still human, it was still the voice of a man. General Freedom began a slow deliberate walk towards the sound, only to lose it again. The cacophony of sounds made it difficult to pin down where it had originated.

Hearing a cough and a feeble cry for help, the massive hero stopped. Again, he heard it, then saw a hand. Blacked, burned and ragged. He traced the hand to its owner. An EMT, her face covered in soot. Where it was not covered, it was raw from thousands of shards of glass.

In haste, General Freedom reached the woman. Her eyes pleaded for help. Her lips moved, yet no words came from within. Shock. She was in shock. Her face felt cold to the touch, she was fading. The blood loss and crushed back would be too much. General Freedom knew he could not save her. Grasping her exposed hand, he held it. Whispered words of comfort and waited the few seconds until she passed. Closing her eyes, he said a brief prayer.

Standing he glimpsed the woman, a woman with wings and a tail. The figure was directing its feet in a manner that indicated she had a purpose. In the swirling smoke, she vanished. General Freedom allowed the energies to surge through his body. Around him, the air split asunder as the energy rend it.

With rapidity, he moved where the woman had descended. She may have found the Splatterer. If she wasn't familiar with his tactics, well she may get a rude awakening to his vast powers.

A brief remembrance of their fight before. Sigmund was tough then. A handful. It was because General Freedom had experience that he won. But that was a different time and a different place. Whatever happened today he would bring the Splatterer to justice. Or die trying.

Word of the Splatterer’s return spread like wildfire, alerting heroes big and small all across the nation that it was time to act. Of course, even among heroes, few had the guts to take on a being so vile and notorious as the Splatterer. Even fewer had the means to make their way to the scene in time. One of the few who did was Lychinus, the guardian angel. When he heard of the ongoing massacre, he knew there was no time to waste, no chance to wait for reinforcements from his allies. Conjuring his radiant wings from his back, he roared off into the air with a sonic boom, heading straight for the scene of the attack.

He arrived roughly in conjunction with the others, floating high above the demolished streets, looking down upon the devastation. He couldn’t see them, since there was smoke and debris everywhere, but he could sense that others had come to the rescue. He could see their souls, like luminescent wisps, cutting straight through the obscuring smoke.

Among the dim signatures of the normal people – the fleeing and the dying – three powerful souls stood out. One was red: passionate and reckless, burning with the power of a primordial being. The other was blue: caring and resolute, thrumming with the power of unbound human potential. The last was green: scarred and terrible, an unnatural being of unparalleled hatred. The sight of it made him feel sick in a way he didn’t even know was possible. That was the Splatterer alright. Lychinus had never met him before, but from his uniquely vile aura, there was no doubting it.

Remaining in the air, he thrust out his arm and caused a bar of radiant white energy to form in his clenched fist. The bar soon formed into the shape of a sword, three feet long with a broad, heavy blade and a sharply tapered point. He took a few valuable seconds to channel all the power he could into the sword, tempering it to maximum strength. He couldn’t take any chances against this foe. Then, with his weapon in hand, he flew down at great speed, into the billowing smoke, approaching the monster’s signature.

Daniel sprinted and jumped from rooftop to rooftop, since he couldn’t fly this was his best option of traversing the city, especially with the normal running and panicking everywhere. He stopped himself as he reached one of the last buildings still able to stand; the other buildings were either too far, or looked to be on the verge of failing. Screams from all around reached him, and he relished in the destruction and chaos, the Splatterer was truly wonderful. But Daniel preferred the personal touch, to watch eyes lose life as he gutted them alive.

Daniel held himself back, choosing to stand by on the rooftop as he watched the two aerial heroes rush in, eagerly engaging the Splatterer first. He’d have to repay their manners later. But he grew impatient by the second, he wanted to keep watching, to wait until they were all weakened so he could take his time, savor the feelings, but he found it difficult to continue simply standing by. The fight had now started, and the knife’s call was growing louder and louder, like drums beating harder and faster.

Underneath his helmet Daniel finally smiled widely while nodding.

That’s fine, we don’t need to hold stand back anymore, we can join them now.

He thought to himself as he swiftly reached for his knife, blood splattered out across the building underneath him as he pulled it out, as always the knife was wet, but now it was pouring out a thin stream of a red viscous liquid behind. Now was the time to lay claim to his next victim, his next reward, Captain Explosion’s explosions, he couldn’t allow these monsters to take his kill. He’d need their help, but he’d be the one to finish off he Splatterer.

Daniel jumped off the building and high into the air, the vents on his feet shot off a burst of energy sending him several more feet higher, allowing him to completely close the gap, and jump over and behind the Splatterer. The drumming in his head continued to beat, its rhythm was almost chaotic, but Daniel knew what it meant.

Yes, you can have the first taste, feel his power!

Daniel activated the vents on his hands mid-air, engulfing his Knife in a fluctuating field of bright red energy, and threw his otherworldly blade at his enemy’s backside. The drumming in his head finally disappeared as the knife left his hands, although he hadn't noticed as he had long grown accustomed to it. Daniel landed himself several feet behind the Splatterer, and readied his legs to jump away, someone this strong, wouldn't let all these attacks go unpunished. But now he had join the fight, and he looked forward to it.

Luckily for Evvie the man either had no time to move or didn’t even notice her rapid descent that was partially obscured by the curling smoke. She’d have little time to adjust her flight path as she exited out the bottom, so smiled to herself as she saw his ugly mug still right out in the open for her awaiting feet. At that point it was less than a split second as her full weight and speed came to bear on him, the force dragging them through concrete for a good distance before finally colliding into a car and coming to a jarring stop, Evvie riding him like a surfboard the entire way to continue the downward pressure against his skull, her tail weaving this way and that in an effort to remain balanced on him.

She expected the villain’s head to be paste at that point, but somehow he managed to remain not only intact but conscious enough to show a look of blind fury peeking up at her from around her toe. The horrific injuries of the face that stared back at her were not from her foot, although she suspected she would leave quite in imprint on him once she removed the boot. She wouldn’t let him off easy, twisting her heel further into his face in an attempt to crush him and end the fight before others would even have to get involved.

Before she could finish him off, however, he managed to reach up and catch her leg, a fact that she normally would take no heed of if not for the strange energy she saw emerging from within him. Was this only a barrier or was it something greater? She let out a cry of surprise as her question was soon met with an answer. Her greave let out a rumbling groan from the stress for only a brief moment before violently ripping apart at the point of impact, pieces of metal far stronger than steel shattering before being flung every which way with the shockwave. The resulting fire did nothing to singe her now exposed skin, which was mostly unharmed, but she knew that would not be the case should another attack hit. She was super durable to be sure, but that attack was something else. She could barely believe it’s sheer strength to rip through her armor in a single blow.

Cracks cobwebbed as far up as her lower thigh all the way down to her boot, a large chunk falling from her ankle, colliding off the monster’s cheek before clunking to the damaged earth. She noticed someone else zipping behind them for an attack, and at this point Evvie opened her mouth and let out a torrent of flame down upon the Splatterer’s face as she made an attempt to backpedal and regroup. Her sore wings couldn’t fly her out right now but she should still be fast enough to get out of his reach. After blowing apart her armor his grip would surely have left and he’d have to reach at her again in this time if he were to catch her.

Evvie let out a started grunt that was quickly cut short as air was forcefully taken out of her lungs. Her foe not only caught up to her but rushed her through such intense flames to do so! He had nerve equal to her own! She had to give him credit for that daring move even though he was scum for what he had done to these people. She couldn’t respect him as a person, but she was beginning to respect his capabilities as a warrior.

Her fire sputtered out as she could no longer give it breath. Once again her armor shattered at the point of impact, although given how she was moving backwards and her breastplate being the thickest part, the force wasn’t able to deliver quite as much devastating damage as what had happened to what was formerly her left greave and was now scraps of metal flaking off with every movement. A small crater formed and cobweb cracks radiated outwards but the armor was able to remain more or less in one piece.

The force of the blow sent her flying backwards, smashing into a building across the street although remaining in a standing position, resting her body within a slight indent in the wall. She grit her teeth, catlike eyes glaring at him to see his next move if he were to keep going towards her or turn his attention to one of the others. Her hands, clenched into fists, raised up to shoulder height as she took a step forward with her right foot into a defensive looking combat stance. Her damaged torso faced to the side, her right shoulder and side of her body towards him. Evvie tapped her left ankle forcefully against the wall to shatter what was left and allow the rest of the pieces to crumble. The bottom portion of her boot hanging on by a thread would just get in the way one way or another, so better off loosing it completely.

Splatterer had what he always wanted, a fight worthy of a god. Was Sigmund a god? No. But some twisted part of his narcissism believed he was. General Freedom allowed the ZPE to build up in his body. The crackling of air as the smell of burning ozone wafted away from him.

The billowing smoke shifted again. It was clear that Sigmund held the girl by her leg. Steve saw, and felt the huge blast of fire that the girl spewed from her mouth. It was both impressive and dangerous. Sigmund, in his current state, would perceive it as a threat and challenge. Indeed, he did. Steve had little time to react. The concussive wave washed around the hero known as General Freedom, a cobalt blue shield in front of him. The ground shook, glass broke and detritus blew way in scattered directions. Those who were unlucky enough to be in the path of the debris would suffer.

Then he saw a familiar sight. While Steve was not familiar with the Guardian, he had studied his profile on many occasions. An angel, and a powerful one at that, who had come to Earth to protect it from one of his own. Why he stayed Steve would have to ask him when, if, they survived.

The girl was gone, Steve glimpsed her for a moment as she sailed past him and into a building. A flicker of a smile crossed his lips. He had suffered a few of those from the Splatterer before, they hurt. Steve hoped the building could withstand the impact. Of the girl, anyone that breathed fire probably could. She couldn’t be a glass cannon, could she?

As soon as he had a clear shot, Steve shouted, "Sigmund! Do you want another shot at me? You got it." Before he finished he taunt, he dropped into a horse stance. His hands thrust forward, swirling cobalt energies erupting in a flash, ripping the air asunder. A tremendous clap of thunder followed a scant half second after the bolt fired. Sigmund would have to shift his body to avoid or deflect the energy strike.

While the energy could topple Sigmund if he wasn't ready, it was more a diversion than anything else. If the Guardian could take advantage of it he might be able to land a blow that could stun Sigmund. If not, well it would get messy.

The draconic being had been blown away from the Splatterer, that much was evident. There was no time to see if she was alright; with the distance created between her and the monster, Lychinus had a straight shot at him, without risk of collateral. He zipped closer until he could see the target through the thinning smoke. The Splatterer was about 50 feet below him, surrounded by broken concrete and smouldering car parts, recovering from the motion of the blow that had launched the dragon girl.

He halted for a second. Someone else was trying to catch the monster’s attention, the blue-clad hero below. Lychinus was aware of General Freedom, the well-known superhero, but his memory was cloudy on the specifics. Telling one human from another was hard enough, and he hadn’t been back long enough to remember the many new beings who protected or threatened the Earth. He could, however, be fairly certain that the man was an ally.

When General Freedom launched his blue projectile at the Splatterer, the opportunity was not lost on him. Lychinus readied his sword in two hands, the tip pointed down at his target. He waited just a moment, until the bolt would either hit or miss its target, before using his energy wings to launch himself downward at great speed, at about a 45 degree angle. He aimed a powerful lunge straight at the monster’s chest, hoping to exploit the distraction and pierce its heart, ending this carnage with a single strike.

If the attack was dodged, he was prepared to come to a similarly abrupt stop, halting himself from crashing into the ground and maintaining a position from which he could defend himself.

Daniel jumped up into the air as soon as the Splatterer's blasted himself up, but the lieutenant merely created distance, and didn't avoid the attack completely. The force of that blast threw him further back, along with showering the area in smoke and car debris. His body flew wildly in the air for only seconds before he regained control with bursts from his energy vents, the shards and flaming metal from the car from earlier blew upwards in the explosion, putting him in their way.

The glass was harmless, merely shattering against his suit and body, but with the smoke rising and clouding his vision he only just saw the car from earlier break into burned pieces, thanks to Captain Explosion. The lieutenant braced himself as a piece of the car collided with him, throwing him to the side, along with leaving him both shaken and stirred.

The smoke was everywhere, Daniel could barely see the ground around him, and so he figured he was moved a little further from the fight than he thought. Unshielded people might have had trouble with the dust and ash permeating the air, the Lieutenant would have no such trouble, his suit was designed for situations just like this. But he needn’t worry about that either, he reached out a few feet with his telekinesis and forced a bubble of mostly clear air around him, so he could see where he was going.

To where the Splatterer was, Daniel focused his hunter’s senses to sniff out his prey, even through the gourmet smell of death, and the dust still coating the area, he could see him. He was experienced with moving carefully and quickly as he had spent many months hunting villains and heroes, but with the landscape the way it was, even he still had trouble catching up.

As he got closer the smoke cleared, allowing Daniel to see what was currently going on, another hero was taunting the Splatterer, drawing his attention. The girl looked like she had taken the brunt of the fighting so far, maybe he could come back in a little while and take her, but for now it was best she lived.

Daniel kept to the side and as moved himself back to the fight, if an opportunity presented itself he would be here to strike as well. He unsheathed his knife again in preparation, the knife knew they had done nothing yet, but it still anxiously awaited to be fed, along with Daniel.

For a man who looked like he might fall apart any minute, the Splatterer was mighty fast. Lychinus’ lunge sailed past him, hitting nothing. He brought himself to an abrupt stop, right next to his opponent and a foot or two above the ground. He’d been prepared from the start to protect against a counterattack, but he hadn’t expected the monstrous being to possess such solid fighting technique. Before he could really steel himself, a massive elbow was coming his way with the force of a cannon. At the last moment, Lychinus turned and raised his body, causing the attack to strike his upper arm instead of his throat.

There was a crack of impact, and Lychinus’ layer of flesh was shredded off around the affected area, pulverized by the sheer force, revealing the glowing crystalline structure underneath. He instinctively supplied power to his wings, imposing a strong but gentle deceleration on himself, to keep from being launched backwards. He didn’t absorb the full force, but was violently swayed backwards several feet, before bringing himself and the Splatterer back to a halt. His immensely durable core had resisted the strike without breaking, but it immediately felt bruised and sore, if such words could be used to describe an inorganic being.

He felt the Splatterer’s burning aura now that he was so close, the heat and radiation streaming off his body. To call it unpleasant was an understatement, but Lychinus could withstand it. He considered taking another stab at its chest, but at this point he figured it wasn’t going to be that simple. Instead, something important now stood out to him: the monster had only one arm. With a rapid motion, he curled his left arm, with which he had blocked the attack, outwards and up, trying to wrap it around the elbow that was still pressed against him, trying to immobilize the creature’s one good arm. It was a somewhat awkward grip, but Lychinus brought a lot of strength to bear. From there, he lifted his sword with his other hand and made a quick stab for the monster’s right shoulder, the mobility of which would be hindered by the constriction of his arm.

Daniel waited off to the side, he watched as another hero launched some kind of energy attack, and as one of the fliers from earlier finally joined the fight. He had a feeling he should recognize the two, even if they were villains, but for now he would need their help, so he stayed his hand, and brought back his attention to his original prey. Although he had ‘joined’ he had still done nothing, which made his knife grow impatient again, and the drumming began to slowly beat in his head.

You’re right, they haven’t seen us yet. They don’t know he’s ours. Daniel thought to himself, or maybe it was his knife.

He eyed the fight carefully as the Splatterer and the angel grappled with each other, the former demonstrated some skill in CQC, skill he didn't look like he had initially. Daniel continued to wait, even as the Splatterer blew off a part of the angel's skin, Daniel expected some bloodshed, but there wasn't any, maybe this new villain could end up being helpful after all. But the angel looked like he might have bit off more than he could chew, and Daniel would need him alive longer if he was going to claim the Splatterers’ life.

Daniel burst out into a sprint towards the Splatterer, he ignited the energy vents on his body, and swiped his arm down at the Splatterer’s legs to knock him down, or at least help confuse him long enough for the other to get away. If the Splatterer got knocked down Daniel considered backing off immediately, no point diving into this kind of a fight if you were the only one up, but if he himself got caught in a counterattack he'd have to rely on a trick to save himself.

General Freedom knew his attack would have negligible effects. It wasn't designed to do much more than distract the misshapen beast that once was both a god and man. What he had not expected was the way that the others closed with the Splatterer. That was a bad idea. Steve knew that the power the man wield was considerable. If anyone were near to the beast it could be detrimental.

That knowledge was something that came with experience and reading the intelligence reports. Gritting his teeth General Freedom rocketed himself skyward. The blast followed by a streak of blue light would be brilliant. The concussive wave roiled away from his launch point spraying debris everywhere. The air splitting as the sonic boom, detonated at ground level rippled the street. Windows that remained shattered, the sound at this range was tremendous. The concrete streets and the buildings that remained standing funneled the boom up into a hellish cacophony. It was so sudden lasting a scant 2.3 seconds, that it would catch all unaware. The explosion of sound and force wave was not the attack though. The General raced towards a target that tottered on the edge of a half-collapsed building.

Gotham was iconic. Among the architectural structures that expressed the soul of the city one stood out. The water towers. Large wooden or metal tanks that provided water to the skyscrapers. Above them was one of these ten-thousand gallons tanks. AS he raced skyward, General Freedom created a shield around him. Striking the tower struts 2.3 seconds after launch resulted in the 83,000 pounds of water to fall straight down. As the water cascaded, a heavy wooden tank followed. Would it hit the Splatterer? It was General Freedoms intent. But more than that it would create confusion that would hamper the sense of the Splatterer. It was those senses that once fouled, gave General Freedom an edge before. Chances are the thunderous roar as the water struck the street, followed by the smashing tank, would give the heroes a slight advantage.

Evvie felt silly holding the defensive stance for any longer even though she certainly could have used a good rest from her speedy flight over here and from the previous exchange. She refused to stand idly by while the newcomers took all of the glory and damage for her. She used only a brief pause more as her catlike eyes took in the situation to see how she could best approach this without accidentally hurting everyone in the crossfire. She didn’t fight well with crowds of people for more than one reason, and being from another world she didn’t recognize any of these figures or their capabilities, but she’d find a way to make this work. She leaned forward and prepared her first step.

Boooooooom!!!

A sudden blast made her jerk in place just as she was shifting her weight. She nearly stumbled forward into a face plant but regained her balance with frantic swings of her tail, arms, and wings, a shocked expression on her face that turned to slight irritation once she realized what had happened. She blew a tuff of hair out of her face, shook her head, and tried again.

As the tussle was now in full swing playing out before her she began to sprint towards the Splaterrer’s left side in a circular motion around his perimeter, the side which had previously detonated so perhaps now had weakened or even nonexistent defenses until whatever barrier he was using could recover. As she continued her run she breathed out a far more thin and focused stream of fire, using her telekinetic control over it to limit collateral damage. This stream was large enough to cover most of the left side of her target’s torso but nothing more, hopefully not hot enough to hurt the other guy by proximity, but he seemed tough enough to handle it and if he expressed pain from it she would cease her action and try something else. However, she believed this plan might be the best shot at the moment. Judging by how she managed to do a small amount of damage previously with only a brief exposure to fire, she was sure if the foe got pinned down and blasted with her fire directly it could do some far more serious damage this time around!

As her fire was halfway to it’s target a sudden downpour of water washed over her, resulting in the trail of flame turning into a harmless puff of smoke. She skidded in place, the water puddles sending her tumbling for real this time onto the ground at high speed, throwing up a large splash of water that made it to her foe’s feet as she tumbled all the way past him like a rock skipping on a lake. This luckily put her a fair enough distance away and behind the Splatterer where it would be difficult for him to attack her in this moment of weakness, but this was of little consolation to her. She got up on her hands and knees, her face once again betraying her emotions as she looked up from this undignified position.

Seriously?! She really, really didn’t like working with others sometimes! She didn’t know if she wanted to slug the blue costumed fellow of the Splatterer more, but whatever the case someone was going to get punched. If nothing were to stop her she would get onto her feet and start advancing towards the scuffle in a huff, curving around to his left side again where an opening was currently.
