In Middle Earth, an ancient Elven clan, once lived peacefully in the hallows of Fangorn Forest. Before the hostile feud between the fairest and the stone-people, these Elves forged benevolent alliances with both Dwarves and Man, having to share their smith-craft, guardianship, and unbreakable wisdom, in times of crisis. So trusting and pure these beings were, a special tradition was beheld by the Durin's Folk: By decree of the royal family, each Elf is to be chosen and blessed as a godparent to any Dwarf that has come to birth, with the duty of keeping the child alive, till death.
During the reign of Lady Hermia and King Lavendar, the choosing of a guardian was decided, after King Thrain's only daughter, Dis, gives birth to two children: The Fangorn leaders' only daughter, Saeril. Instead of living up to the task, she didn't feel ready, and didn't act on the instinct to even approach her charges, although she did watch their every move -- in the shadows. As the Dwarven siblings, known as Fili and Kili, grew in the Blue Mountains, the youngest, Kili, always felt her shadowy presence, and tried to make contact with her, but their guardian never once showed herself. Instead, she sent them gifts of nature, and letters, to communicate. Believing Saeril was a spirit, the brothers called her "Delva", meaning "endearment" in Dwarven.
Years passed even more, and Saeril was nowhere in sight. After Smaug the Terrible forced the Dwarves of Erebor to go into exile, the Elves of Fangorn faded away. All, except for one.
Saeril was captured by a dark force, who tortured, and eventually, deformed the pure elf, into becoming a malignant creature of chaos: With wings, horns, sharp nails and molars, the she-elf's mind was shattered, and acted on inflicting fear across Middle-Earth, who, in-turn, called her "Maleficent"; a persona that divided her from who she was, formerly. With her mind in darkness, she and Orc general Azog waged destruction upon the Dwarven kingdom of Moria, where Saeril mercilessly kills Thrain, and leaves his kin defenseless, at the hands of Azog, who swears to expel the line of Durin, for days to come. The Orc army retreats, giving victory to Thorin Oakensheild and his followers.
Some time after, Saeril was spotted and confronted by Gandalf the Grey, who manages to suppress her insanity, and take her into his care for sanctuary. Fierce and dangerous she was claimed to be, Saeril became a threat to all races, despite the fact that she was a victim of torture and corruption; everyone believed she was a product of evil -- except Fili and Kili. They never forgot about "Delva", and they were determined to see her in person. However, due to her newfound deformity, Saeril kept herself hidden, until Gandalf advised her, that if she wishes to redeem herself, and change the views of all, she must step forward to help them first reclaim their lost homeland.
Meanwhile, Sauron's power is growing and, after the long-lost One Ring is found, tragedy and violence begins to spread; all-the-while, determined to bring Saeril back to the dark side. Until it is too late, only a Fellowship can reverse what's upon them: By reaching Mount Doom, the only place where it all can be undone.
