A bit of a reboot/spiritual successor to Bluetommy’s excellent efforts on the first two games of the same name, this version of Blood Runs Over Westeros is a character-driven sandbox role-play centered around the events of the end of Queen Daenerys’s reign as ruler of Westeros. The year is 379 AC, nearly eighty years after the restoration of House Targaryen and the defeat of The Night King by the unified forces of The Iron Throne.
The longest reigning monarch to sit on the Iron Throne, Queen Daenerys I Targaryen, has served the realm faithfully; serving as a champion of the downtrodden with a plethora of reformist policies that have for better or worse effected the realm with little opposition. But that duty to the realm has come to pass as the elderly ruler has fallen ill and declared incapable. The Hand of the Queen, Vaegon Celtigar, looks to stabilize concerns given the fragile Queen has not made a declaration for who is to succeed her. A peculiarity in the state of affairs, Daenerys had consistently denied all marriages for her hand following deaths close to her during the infancy of her reign and had promised that she would elect an option when her time was near the end. A promise that has either been well-hidden or outright ignored by the small council.
Speculating that Queen Daenerys is near her end of days, lords of the realm have begun to plot. House Baratheon, descendant of King Robert Baratheon, look to possibly reassert their claim for the throne based on their connection to King Robert I Baratheon as well as the loose claim that once earned him the crown. Alternatively, there are those with distant Targaryen blood in their veins just the same – the houses of Martell, Arryn, Velaryon, Hightower, and many others look to the Citadel to back up their ancestral blood connection to House Targaryen in hopes to validate their ambitions. Though there are some whom say the succession should be electoral as the Queen aspired to “break the wheel” in her youth and a small minority who perceive that the orphan Queen Daenerys brought back with her from Lys eleven years ago should be heir apparent.
Of whom will hold the Iron Throne is unclear, but one thing is for certain for the soon-to-be future. Westeros will bleed.

Main Interest Check
Game GMs: @Inkarnate, @SunsetWanderer
Expected Release Date: November 15th - December 5th
Posting Guidelines: Advanced Section expectations; adjustable posting activity.
Influences: Several A Song of Ice & Fire sandbox RPs that have run on RPG in the last several years.
Game Admission: Public Game, applications will be based on the merits of the quality.
Player Options: Houses or Individual Characters.
Book Precedence vs Show Interpretation: This world is primarily based on the novels written by George R.R. Martin, but this is not to say the televised interpretation broadcasted by HBO doesn’t have its merits or even more cohesive ideas at times. Think of the book/show schism in favor of the books while some incorporations of the show were incorporated – such revisions include but are not limited to Cersei’s destruction of the Sept, the non-existence of Lady Stoneheart, and the destruction of The Wall.
Canon Precedence: Whilst most players have the autonomy to decide their house history and how it plays into the interpretation of the conclusion of the war that earned Daenerys the pointy chair of which she sat on for seven decades, do keep in mind realistic and sensible conclusions. How House Baratheon survived is up to the player who wants to design them but they should keep in mind that their options are pretty much limited to Shireen, Gendry, and Edric. Who that prospective player designs as the historical leader plays into the personality of who is in charge of the house currently. So keep that sort of thought in mind.
Extinct Houses: As with the nature of things, some houses are canonically extinct and dealt with. House Frey and House Bolton being too very notable examples. There is no way these houses would be integrated into the new Targaryen rule, especially considering the events that transpired. So applying for these houses will not be options, so keep that in mind. Most other houses are open for talking points due to the precedence of player autonomy.
Historical Casualties: Daenerys did not earn Westeros easily. The pretender known as Aegon did not fare well against Kingslander forces despite the full might of The Golden Company being behind him. He’s dead. Other characters fit this mesh as well. Stannis Baratheon, a good portion of House Tyrell’s main line, and many others don’t make much sense living past their necessary footprints. Discussions will be open, but remember convincing arguments are as good as valyrian steel.
Think Creatively: Not all players have to make their POV essentially intrigue-driven plots for who gets to sit on the pointy chair. While such intrigue plots are needed, there will eventually be much more to deal with than throne politics as is the nature of A Song of Ice & Fire.
