S T O R Y

Schplitz Farm had been a steadfast pillar of the community for as long as anyone could remember up until the owner Rose, wife of Hawthorn and mother to three girls, up and left one some twenty years ago. For years Hawthorn refused to rename the farm in the belief that his wife would be returning “any day now.” It was his daughters that actually convinced him to finally change it to “Rosemont Farms”, the main reason being that they wanted to help their father get rid of the constant reminder of their mother.

These days Rosemont Farms is known for supplying Valbree with a majority of its fresh produce while also shipping out a decent amount to neighboring communities. Hawthorn himself rarely leaves the farmstead for anything but his nightly drink at Waconia's and is usually found working his fields by hand. Oddly the only person he is openly friendly with is Mayor McByrd.

S T O R Y

Being the oldest Rosemont daughter Lilly is actually the only one who can remember her mother-and most memories are honestly rather pleasant. Sadly her sisters never got to have the same connection as growing up every trace of their mother was slowly removed or hidden away; large in part done by Lilly herself in an effort to help her father move on.

How she feels about her mother these days is...complicated, much like her father Lilly keeps her mind and hands busy with the never ending list of things to be done on the farm as her go to excuse to not talk about such things.

When it comes to her sisters Lilly is very much a mother figure, almost aggravatingly so some might say, but in her defense it was a trait she picked up from having to help raise them so much from such a young age. She has always risen above and beyond what her father asks of her in regards to chores and farmwork, although that was never too hard considering one of her favorite and most relaxing activities is working the fields.

Pansy is the middle daughter Rosemount daughter and has really no memories of her mother, she was just a year old when she left for good. Though being the middle child is never easy, Pansy definitely fits that role being the less talked about and less inclined of her two sisters. Despite this "middle child curse" Pansy is rather inventive and usually is the brains of the operation back at the farm.

She definitely appreciates her sister's attempts to be a mother figure to both her and Daisy- however, Pansy believe she is way better off on her own and can't wait to leave the farm to go to a University in the city. The only reason she claims to stays at home right now is because she feels sorry for her sisters and her father. It is kind of a secret between her and her own journal that she would like to work for BigCo one day, despite the ultimate meaning behind that notion.

The youngest and most adventurous of the Rosemount children, Daisy is a wild child full of energy and musical talent. She is constantly changing her likes, dislikes, hair and style as long as it has nothing to do with farming or farming life. She does not get along with her sister Pansy at all, and does not like being bossed around by her oldest sister or her father in the slightest. She would rather be playing her guitar or banging on some drums than slaving away on a dumb old farm.

Despite never meeting her mother; Daisy feels the closest to this woman she had made up in her mind. She often threatens to run away from home and go to where her mother is, because "she will love me and accept me better!" Daisy is also romance crazy- she wants to have a boyfriend or girlfriend or even both by the end of the year.

Having witnessed more ups and downs than anyone still living in the village Mayor McByrd has kept up a rather positive attitude despite his own misfortunes. For longer than anyone can remember he has always ran unopposed when elections come around.

Ugh...I am just havein a string of bad luck. Ruined the breaks on my car because a squirrel ran out in front of me in the road and I swerved/breaked all bad to avoid it. Not gonna effect me postin or anything but...gah, I just know I got a big bill headed my way :(

That's one expensive squirrel. Hope it relised how lucky it got.

The bird that was round a country bend as I was doing 30-40 mpg was less lucky... I'd just cleaned my car that day too!
