Baqar's Beginning
Part 1
Part 1
"I'm off now."
A young mans voice shouted as his figure brushed aside the entrances barrier.
It was a well crafted home. Soft dried grass and leaves made it like a bush. Similar to the others in this wild jungle.
"I got your checkbook!"
A womans voice carried from within the cozy home. She held her arms around their child gently but firm. The boy raised a wooden sword in the air with confidence. A smile crept up on the face of the man. His shadowy eyes down cast by his straw sewed hat met the side of his sight.
"You wont find nothing in there." The woman had a mischievous smile that was only halfway realized. Her youthful face was met with bags beneath the eyes. The boy in her bosoms grasp brimmed with light. Yet chained by his mother he remained.
"I love you."
"I love you too."
Down the beaten path he went with tool in hand. Down to Vrondi's capital where work on the surrounding farms was needed. The home was nearly by the river and so the rushing sounds met the ears of the mother. It was a source of relaxation an torment. Tormented by the need to sleep and a single child to be cared for within these jungles. She sat her boy down with a sigh of relief upon doing so. In the chair he sat, before a table of fruits for a healthy diet. Mum went down, and down, and down. Until eventually she laid on a rug of leather that was stretched out in front of a cold fireplace.
Why have a home so far out of the way of others?
A feeling of pressure on the chest and front ribs. A feeling of something warm edging closer, almost touching but not. Then a minute or so after a giggle you can feel the air of as tiny breaths blow on you rapidly. Eyes meet eyes, emerald green with a hint of blue in the center. Mothers eyes meet her sons as he sits on her while she lays. She sighs deeply, blowing a stream of air on the childs forehead which shakes his messy unkempt hair at the tips. This caused for excited giggling.
"I take it you're ready for another lesson."
Her voice was inquisitive yet authoritative. It was to the boys displeasure to hear this. He winced a bit but the mothers hands gripped his little arms. "Should be short this time. Since you listen so well." She patted him on the head and soon they both were sitting in front of a large book. It had a map on a double page spread. Their hands traveled together. "This.. Where the mountains are is Gaia. Home of the Oro, lots of dragonkin live here. Where the volcanoes are is Fotia, home of the Tyro. Here is Tearianaris.. Tearia for short and it is ruled by the Lassa people. Now we are here at Vrondi where many Sol and seraphim live. Lastly is Nero home of the Nayu.. its farthest away but has lots of land yet to be tamed."
The boy looked at the book then up to his mothers caring yet tired eyes. "Got it!" He said with a grin." She raised a brow inquisitively. "I'm sure you didn't get all that so quickly." She narrowed her lids at him. "Don't lie. If you don't understand something be honest with yourself. It will keep you out of a lot of trouble in the future." She couldn't resist patting his head again it seemed and ran her fingers through his hair and between his two small developing horns. Her own were quite long going back like her hair down to her neck. "It's nap time."
The bed was placed in a separate room. It was small yet big enough for a small boy and a bed of his own. The blinds were opened as she brought in a wooden sword to lay next to him. "I'm a brave guardian of Vrondi!" He shouted with glee as he was being tucked into bed. "Right. One day." The boy groaned with a exasperated tone. "I am now! Look at my skills!" He waved the wooden stick around with nothing similar real technique. "A true Vrondi guardian can protect in his sleep." She said before closing the blinds on the windows where sunlight was glaring through. "Ok!" He said before closing his eyes as if in a rush to sleep, with his wooden block firmly grasped in his hand.
"With that I can rest too." In the bed she was eyes closed and sighing with absolute relief. She wondered how her husband was doing out in the fields as she drifted away into rest.
