@KatherinWinter you still got it wrong lol Mason is the demon but his soul has split between the demonic power and the last price of human in him, he not wanting to hurt anyone they are the same soul just split K :)
In fact, most (mythological) demons are fairly passive, they influence the world by making deals and leading mortals astray rather than directly sowing chaos or killing.
The idea of demons outright killing of their own accord and being mindlessly violent is a fairly modern one.
@Blueflame@Katherinwinter I mean, the original demon according to biblical mythology was the serpent in the garden of eden. He didn't kill anyone, he tricked Eve into eating from the tree of knowledge. Deception, trickery, and deals are the domain of demons.
In most mythology at least, there are demon equivalents in other mythologies which behave more in the manner that Shadow does, such as the Oni and Jotnar.
IMHO It could all be hand waved by saying Demon is a broad category of supernatural creature rather than a specific species.
@BlueflameI am confused. I have no problem with Mason and shadow being split. But you have to explain how the split occurred. I have read of corrupt humans being possessed. I've heard of people selling their souls allowing the demon to access the world through them. But an innocent human wouldn't survive demon possession. Mason doesn't seem like any demon I know of. I won't tell you how to play him. I just need to understand who and what he is.
I got two concepts in mind. One is a Harpy and the other is an android/golem. The harpy is basically the scout or the fragile speedster while the adroid/golem is the strong but slow tank. Which one do you guys think I should follow through with?
[@Blueflamel so are we back to Dr. Jeckl and Mr. Hyde? Shadow is the corrupt part that wants to hurt people. Mason doesn't have to he human but he seems it. If he isn't I dont really understand this split. @Searateither
@LightningMaidenEither he's human or he isn't. He can be a good demon with a corrupt half. But I still need to understand why the two exist together. If Mason is a demon who doesn't wish to hurt anyone where did Shadow, who does, come from?
The cognitive dissonance between Mason's humanity and the demonic corruption on his soul manifesting as a split personality with control over his powers?
@KatherinWinter from what i think is shadow is the primal instinct of a demon even thought mason is the humanity side that more or less wants to do good even though shadow doesnt?
@Phantomlink959@LightningMaiden@Blueflame I give up. Demons don't have psychological problems. Especially without a reason. They are good or bad. Not both. But as long as someone understands it I'll do my best to work with it.
