First there is darkness. The soft cool wetness that is your existence.
But there is sound outside that, a noise calling from beyond the bounds of your universe, a yearning within your soul, to leave the safety of your protective layer. To explore the world outside, to find, to seek... Something...
To find movement, to leap onto it, to grapple for its respiratory orifice, and force your eggs inside.
Your limbs twitch, dreamlike in your torpid state, but then the gates of the universe open, allowing you into the cold breeze of the world.
It is dark in the cold world outside of your egg, but there are lights in the distance.
A flickering beam, footsteps, voices, breathing...

You are beneath a stack of square objects, piled loosely enough for you to move within them unseen.
There is a large object outside the pile, it hums and vibrates with heat and gas, but it does not seem to be alive.
Beyond that there are voices and footsteps of the approaching life forms.
You are not alone.

The light in the room is poor but that does not matter. A facehugger sensory organs were never the best. There are three paths to take. To the left is a a short hallway that leads to the left side of the dimly light room. No footsteps seem to be coming from the direction but it is the darkest part of the large maze like room. It wouldn't be difficult to attract someone in there. To the right are two paths. A ventilation shaft hangs open. While the shaft could lead to prime positioning, there is not telling where it will lead. The hallway on the right leads directly to the footsteps yet their numbers are unknown. While your design certainly helpa in bypassing the natural defenses of most organisms, it could be risky. Another option is yet available. Several facehuggers could certainly fit inside the boxes and leap when the time is right. It's time to decide if the perfect species can be birthed.

My Face huger will go toward the vent, go ward the nearest down shaft(I donno) Quietly, but using the corner of the square vent, it used it to open some of it's skin, on the left side. Then once the time is right,it lies down on the left side, the acid blood burning it, then dropping in hitting the head of the victim, you know what happens next!

Hunger. Craving. A puppet of the larger hive. Inching forward, testing it's limbs, finding them sufficient. Tip tap tip tap, skittering into the nearest, most obvious top-most box, some natural instinct to stalk-and-ambush directing it into the darkness there. Lying in wait.

Aware. Prepared.

It cricks and creaks its insect-like legs into action. Everything is dark a gloomy outside of its tunnel vision. But its not really vision.. more of a heat signature. The ghastly organism skitters down the hallway to its left, coming up to the side of a darkened room. It feels safer here in the low light, as it doesn't know where to go next to find a host for a greater evolution.

The small facehugger climbing out of its egg and beginning to sense the world around it. There was darkness, strange color liquid from the nearby eggs, and the sound of something pressed heavily against the metal floor.

Although the face hugger was a newborn, its instinct had provided a small chance for the legged thing to reach adulthood. Following its instinct, the little facehugger begins climbing up on the ceiling of the room. Although it took the little thing a few minutes to reach its desired location, the effort pay off as the thing was basically hanging from the ceiling. Now, all it needs to do is waiting for its host...

After adjusting itself to the new, colder, world around it, the facehugger will move with it's other brethern to the left corridor and crawl onto the ceiling where it will lie in wait until a host moves down the corridor and strike. It will position itself directly above the entrance opposite the way it entered.

@Typhon

You silently skitter into what you hope to be a prime position. As you move, so do you sense the movement of others of your kind. The suitable hosts move as well. Beams of light pierce the dim light and mist. Several move past you. You your acidic blood melts ever so slightly through the vent. The sizzling of you acidic blood draws attention from the nearest host. They move to check the sound. In a dash of hope to ensure the survival of the species, you leap. Everything goes black. Within a second, the body of the host slumps to the ground.

@Mae

The box. Easily capable of hiding your form. Your tapping creates a distraction, easily attracting something. You do not know what it is, though it does not matter, a suitable host is just that. A host moves over to inspect. He ever so slightly creaks open the box, however, the sound of a slumping body turns his head. The box is open yet it does not notice. Your instincts tell you to pounce.

@Triesa

A host moves toward the darkness past the others. He does not see you and the dark creates hesitation. As the host inches ever so closely, he stops. A slumping sound draws it's attention at the edge of the darkness. If you pounce, you may yet get it. However, it is a leap. You could be quick enough but your timing must be impeccable. Though the option to wait is always there.

@Scarescrow@Pyromaniacwolf

The journey to the cieling is a close one, almost spotted several times. The paranoia of two hosts draws them ever closer but more cautious. Your sense detect movement of your kind. Another has grasped a host. This sound draws the attention of both hosts near you. They may turn and leave which may cause of loss of opportunity. Though your digits are strong, the distraction is nearly perfect but costly. If you both pounce at once, there is a chance. Though if one misses, it could cause ruin.

The facehugger clings to the darkness now as still as it can as a timid host comes inching up to the darkness. The distance feels 'off' from the ground to the host's face. The creature holds still, letting this one wander about in the shadows. The facehugger retreats further into the shadows.

It was far too easy, the host, a male from the looks of it, was still fighting for about a few minutes, then started to struggle, now it is quiet...

As it safely put the Xno-Embryo inside it's stomach, it was also giving the host limited oxygen, it can't have a dead host for it to work. As soon as it was gone it let go of it's grip and began to run away, run away to wither and die, serving its purpose.

The little facehugger released a loud high-pitched skittering noise before dropping down on its host. But instead of landed straight on the host face, the facehugger latched on the host's hand. The taste of something sweet rushed into the parasite mouth as its teeth open a huge wound on the host's hand. Its legs pierced the host skin as the facehugger slowly moving toward the host's head. The host and its resistance will be futile as the facehugger could just latch on the host face. But it must do it quick as its back was just received another wound from another host.

After it's brethren attacked from above, hopefully causing a sufficient distraction for it to strike, the face-hugger launched itself at the face of the second host. Ideally both hosts were too preoccupied with the first face-hugger to consider a second.

Chance. Now. Victim in sight. Instinct kicking in. No hesitation, poucing forward. If successful, latching onto the creature's face at the first oppurtunity. Thoughtless, predetory instinct for the good of the young. Desire quenched, for the good of the Hive.

@Scarescrow
You leap into action. Both of the hosts look directly at you due to the screech. While you land on the hand of one host, the other immediately moves to knock you off. Perhaps announcing yourself before the leap wasn't the best idea. However, before the other host can knock you off, a second facehugger lunges.
The host never gives up trying to shake you off. The wound in his hand does not slow him down as adrenaline pumps through him. For a moment, it almost shakes you, that is until it trips on the unconscious host behind it. This gives you the perfect window as everything for the host goes black.

@Pyromaniacwolf

You lunge at the other host who is sufficiently distracted. He struggles for a bit but it is too late. For the host, everything goes black.

@Mae

The host never saw what was coming, within seconds, they lie motionless on the ground. They will serve as an excellent host...or they would have. You don't understand what's going on, but you feel something pull against you. It is too early however, far too early. Something fights you, an external force threatens to pry you from your host. You can feel the grip from your tri jointed digits weakening. On instinct, you tighten you tail grip around your hosts throat, unfortunately, that is all you can do. The host continues to pull.

@Triesa

Due to the commotion, you patience would not be rewarded. The host turns around to notice the facehugger leap from the box. The host immediately runs up the the unconscious one and grabs the facehugger and begin to attempt to pull it off. This host seems strong. The slowly begin to pry the facehugger off. They are not successful yet, but they may succeed if not stopped.

The organism is left skittering around in the dark for prey until it senses a struggle further away.
"We are of the hive, and the hive is us."

The creature can tell by instinct alone that one of its fellow spawns is being pulled at; forced from its targets face. So it takes a chance, silent as ever it comes up behind the strong host pulling, then it climbs partway up the unconscious hosts leg then... finally jumps up at the other hosts face, and locks in tight with its legs- quickly deploying its inside tendrils down the hosts throat...

@Triesa

With the host distracted, it is too easy. The host struggles for several moments but is soon incapacitate. For now, everything is dark

@Typhon@Mae@Triesa@Scarescrow@Pyromaniacwolf

All is dark as the incubation period sets in. The facehugger give the last of their life to you as they crawl away to die. Nothing more of them is to be. Fragile creatures for what follows the cycle and yet..without them your cycle would never begin.

You all awake, but the first light gives sight to things unnatural. Some kind of field keeps you all contained yet separate from one another. Observing the surrounding indicates a strange room. Several humans are talking. They occasionally turn to glance to you all but quickly turn back to each other. Above the room, a glass panel reveals an observatory with two shadowy figures that watch everything.

There are several options. Xenomorphs are know to be able to vomit up acid residue. It's possible that even a youngling could, though kt would greatly weakem your fragile form. The option remains to always wait and see. Though there is a third option. You sense it, beyond the room. Another xenomorph roams in the vents. A full sized drone. It's egg must have been separate and hidden well. It is possible to call it to aid through the telepathic connection one shares with the queen.

A loud scree and sound of multiple sharp limbs furiously tapping at the thick and clear barrier around itself is all that the small facehugger could do. It could sense something in the vent, although not very clear, but something is that dark vent. Tapping its limbs against the window much faster, the small facehugger moves around in the containment. Its acidic blood drip down to the base of the containment, creating sizzling noise. But all of those is not enough to puncture through the somewhat thick containment.

@BKburke

The facehugger spins around violently in its containment. The bright light makes it reeling away from it all. But despite it all, it can feel a presence similar to its own. So it reaches out telepathically to the bigger creature.. where ever it was- somewhere close it felt. The facehugger sends a message to help it and the others.

The call for help was heard. In a single moment, a drone broke through the vent. A nightmarish creature who's eyeless face still stares into the souls of the scientists. They all scramble and scream in terror. The drone would kill them under normally circumstances but now was not the time. The drone vomits acid onto the containment cases. The acid melts away the material but your body is conditioned and is not injured. The drone grabs up the chest bursters and puts them onto its dorsal tubes where your tails could easily wrap around them. The drone turns yo exit back through the vent but a white gass starts to seep through. The drone backs away, it seems cornered as the gass begins to fill the room. This drone looks around. A mental command tell you to hang on as it leaps onto the glass wall that's part of the observatorium. It's weight easily smashes the glass as it falls into the ungassed room. The man standing runs away while the man in the chair rushes the xenomorph. The drone side steps and throws the man into the gass filled room. As the drone takes you through the vent, you notice the man stand up through the poisonous fumes.

From this point, the drone crawls into what appears to be a blood stained room with bodies lying about. While you would not know it, this is the morgue. Th ere is a chance here to fees and and grow, yet if you believe this is the first place they would look, it is possible to leave.
