Welcome to Haven, an island sanctuary for sick and injured animals. Here they are cared for until they are strong enough to be released back into the wild. Given as a gift by a kind-hearted millionaire to a young conservationalist, the owner has dedicated the island and the surrounding reef as a permanent rescue and rehabilitation facility.
While the buildings look rather simple, the equipment inside is the best money can buy, courtesy of the same woman who donated the island. Each holding area for the animals is sectioned off areas of the ocean and beach, using natural sea water and rocks and corals for atmosphere.
The main vet office, the bungalows for the employees, the storage warehouse, the dock, the rescue boat and the radio tower, are all made from natural recyclable materials and built into the landscape. Very little of the island's topography was disturbed in the construction.
The island itself is fairly isolated, supplies coming by sea plane from a larger more developed island some miles away. People will sometimes bring animals to the facility or more often will radio the facility with reports of an injured or ill animal. The island is open for people to visit, but for day trips only and they must get permission.
For a time things were going well. But now a threat looms on the horizon in the form of a business mogul who wants the island for their own selfish purposes. With threats, intimidation, sabotage, storms, loss of supplies and other problems, can the facility survive to continue its mission : to give animals a second chance at life?

This rp will be a small group with heavy focus on character development.
I will be keeping track of the animals at the facility and keeping a list for them in the character tab. Your choices will effect if the animal survives and is released, or dies.
Rules:
1. No bullying others or picking apart their posts. This rp will run on the saying "believable, not realistic".
2. If you have an idea, please ask! The worst that can happen is I say 'not right now'. I do have a plan in place but it is very flexible. I want people to participate. Do not be afraid to come up with ideas.
3. No God-modding. If you make a mistake and an animal dies I do not want complaining. You can present an argument for your choices if you feel I made an error in judgement and I will review it. No one knows everything. We can't all make perfect choices every time, especially in the heat of the moment. The best way to avoid mistakes is to read my description of animal injuries and illnesses very carefully before acting.
4. I may get rather gory in descriptions of injuries and swearing is allowed. But anything romance related (if there is any) must be taken to PMs or fade to black.
5. Once I do a GM Post (Which I will indicate at the top of the post) you have a week to react to what is going on before the next GM post. If you need more time for any reason, please let me know. Once again, I am very flexible and will make allowances for good reasons.
6. I reserve to right to add more rules should they be needed.

I'm thinking maybe a marine mammal specialist for my character. I like the whole 'animals may die' mechanic - as horrible as the idea of animals dying is, it's an interesting idea (honestly I'm a lil bit in love with this rp if you couldn't tell). Will try and work on a character tomorrow - but I'm travelling home for easter, so I may not get chance (although I guess I could work on one on my phone in the car 
), but will deffo be up the day after if not tomorrow
this really does seem like it'll be a lot of fun when it gets going and I'm super excited :D And don't worry, I still have stuff to reveal in the rp itself :)
