"He that becomes protector of sin shall surely become its prisoner."

- Augustine of Hippo

Dolorragh is the city-state or main realm of its denizens, aptly called the Dolorrites. It is also called the city of depravity and hedonism. Human morality doesn't apply to the citizens of Dolorragh. In fact, the Dolorrites aren't human at all! They have much more in common with the Cenobites from Hellraiser and the Dark Eldar!

Your host will be their leader and "king" of the city-state, Aydin Vahshi. The King Prick of Dolorragh rules the city-state in his own devious way. Everyone in Dolorragh has so much sights to show you! Why don't you come and find out? All denizens there are explorers of the flesh as the lines of pain and pleasure become blurred!

Template if needed:

Name:
Species: (Human or Dolorrite is typical)
Bio:
Weapons of choice:
Extra:

OP's warning: This RP is designed for adults only and may contain intense violence, strong language, disturbing content, and morbid humor.

Any questions? Feel free to ask. TLDR is that this RP is inspired by the Dark Eldar, yet in a universe similar to XCOM 2 and Warhammer 40K combined.

Name:
Maevina "Quintis" Moonripper

Species:
Dolorrite

Bio:
In her early days Maevina was nothing more than just another arena fighter, battling her way up the rankings alongside her fellow huntresses. However the challenge of one-on-one duels soon became too little to satiate her thirst for combat and at the pinnacle of her career the young witch challenged all five of the tournament champions to battle simultaneously.

Many believed the presumptuous young upstart would be torn apart by the proven combatants in short order, but somehow Maevina managed to play them all off each other, utilising the strength of one to undermine the weaknesses of the others as she wove her way between the group, taking her time to wear them down with her exceptional speed and grace. Finally with only the last champion left alive, the tendons in his limbs shredded by her precision cuts leaving him helpless before her, Maevina raped the seasoned fighter in front of the crowds of Dolorragh, forever shaming his name while christening herself anew in the crucible of combat before finally snuffing out his worthless life.

From that day on the respected and feared warrior has been known as Quintis, the slayer of five.

Weapons of choice:
Blades. Lots of blades. Quintis loves almost nothing more than to feel her victim’s blood flowing over her hands as she kills them, except perhaps when their sexual juices are flowing just as freely. While others have tried to convince her that ranged weapons have their uses, the Huntress has yet to face a challenge where her mobility and grace haven’t been able to get her close enough to her target to plunge a serrated blade into their bodies.

Extra:
Even for a Dolorrite Quintis is considered fast, with a sublime grace to her motions which leaves opponents dazed and confused. She likes to play with her food before finishing them off, often employing overly complicated attack patterns, dancing around her target before finally finishing them off. Many facing her have believed themselves in control of the combat, until finally feeling her blades sinking into their bodies.

@Genni Right properly reminds my of Lyra my little sadist. @Ubermensch I require more details on just what brand of sci-fantasy you're selling.

It's quite grimdark. The science fantasy is similar to that of Warhammer 40K's. Aliens that are similar to fantasy creatures. The universe takes place when an alliance of alien species takes over planet Earth in a sneaky manner circa 2020. Elements of XCOM 2 is also present. The Dolorrites aren't part of the alien alliance, but fight them viciously instead! Originally, they were part of a twisted science experiment gone wrong.

Trying to describe the stuff without spoiling it is a bit tough. Bear with me.

That doesn't tell me all that much honestly. You can't really be worried about spoilers when discussing the fundamental worldbuilding; that's fairly high on the list of things relevant to interested parties. In such case let me ask for a few specifics.

Tech base? What indistinguishable-from-magic devices are considered standard? What is considered bleeding-edge?
Playable species? Its suggested that there are more options here than just what's been presented. is that a "make your own alien" type deal, or are there additional prefab species hashed out?
Relevant powers? You talked about an alien collective, the remaining human population of Earth, and a third non-human species at odds with that collective. Would there be these powers/factions represented within the area the player characters inhabit and do they play significant roles in that area?

These are the kinds of questions I require answers to write a character, write for that character, and even assess if this is something I want in on. You're welcome to keep this under wraps instead, but it's at the risk of being too enigmatic for me to join.

Ah. I wasn't entirely sure on what to answer. Now that you made it more clear, I'll be happy to answer them better.

1) Standard indistinguishable-from-magic devices include advanced holograms, augmented reality, and complex genetic modification. Dolorrites use shard weapons (coilgun type weapons that fire toxic shards) and hard-light weapons (anti-armor, imagine laser and plasma combined). The Emergence Entity alliance of aliens use weaponry based on or similar to dark matter. The Dolorrites are considered the bleeding-edge as they rival or exceed the Emergence Entity in technology. Dolorragh use teleportation, warp drives, powerful robotics, and even synthetic life forms. So despite the fact that their anti-personnel weapons are designed to kill in the most painful ways, they have better vehicles, logistics, and espionage. IE: Dolorragh outguns and outmaneuvers the EE. The only advantage the Emergence Entity has would be numbers.

2) Playable species are humans and Dolorrites only for now. Though if you don't mind being at risk of gruesome torture, feel free to play as a different species.

A list of other species.

Though if you want to make your own alien, do let me know.

3) Griffin is the ragtag human resistance that I mentioned. Ragtag bunch of misfits those people. Dolorragh is the city-state of the Dolorrites. The Emergence Entity is the alien collective. All three of them play significant roles. Also, what the EE has as their ultimate goal is to enslave humanity, collect the Earth's resources, and solidify their power among other sapient species. Griffin wants to liberate Earth from the clutches of the Emergence Entity. Depending if your character is a human that lives in the city OR a Dolorrite raider, there would be different degrees of influence.

The difficulty of the RP will depend on what species you choose. Dolorrites are the Easy mode. Other non-humans are medium difficulty. Humans are the hard mode, unless they play it smart. I'll also PM you more info as needed. I'm on the Discord too.
