The room was silent bar the constant ticking, the scratching of pens against paper, and the tapping of a foot on the floor. Detention wasn't new to the bouncy-haired fool slumped in his chair, yet the concept in College had been far from something he'd expected; further to that, he was hankering for a cigarette. So there he sat, imprisoned with little choice but to protest with only several loud huffs and the steady bouncing of his foot against the floor. Time would have passed somewhat faster if the student had considered catching up with his notes or occupying his brain with something other than the screaming in his head- nicotine was a mistress he never overcome.
His attention shifted across to the bodies sharing his far from permanent prison, pausing to wonder what heinous crime they'd chosen to commit. First to find themselves under his bored gaze was a smaller girl wrapped in a large blue sweater with the exact same expression as him; exasperated with a hint of frustration. She sat head in hand, absentmindedly chewing on her fingernails with a place she clearly would rather have been- Which was Emily all over.
She wasn't entirely pleased with her afternoon being ruined for having an opinion other than that of her guidance counsellor. This affair had been unplanned had thrown the rest of the day she'd prepared. No gym, no yoga, no grocery shopping, and no chance to redye her hair before the following day. Emily was, in fact, not a natural Brunette. Slowly she turned her attention back to rewriting her Literature notes and making idle calculations on her hands.
Harry's attention moved once again to the shiny-haired guy to his left. From the top of his head, the name Chris came to mind- Entirely incorrect. He'd seen him a few times before but not enough to remember a name or pay anymore attention that he truly had to. It was the heavily tattooed, blonde that Harry switched to next, his head tilting from one side to the other to try and understand what he could see of the markings on her arms. Coloured impressed, Harry gave a satisfied smile.
The weary professor stood from his desk and with a glance into his coffee mug, left the room. It was with such movement that the largest ego in the campus leapt into action.
"Nice ink." He called with enough charm in his voice, and a sly wink, to turn a Prince into frog.
