It's not that I DON'T want to use this website for play, it's just that this website lacks some serious features right now and it sucks to try and get everything organized here.

Yay! One semi interested person, it looks like! So hard to get people to roleplay anymore!

Anyhow, Agni, in the next few hours in I'm going to be making some additions to the application, weapons list, and class list. Also adding in a list of quarantine zones. Also some pretty pictures!

Since I'm new here, could you tell me a little bit about the process? Like if I'm able to get a few interested people willing to play and fill out an app? I'm such a noob! :-)

You are the furthest thing away from a noob finalcatharsis (can I just call you catharsis for short?).

Anyways, the classic way to do it is if we get a good number of people, we can have them fill out a set Character Sheet and either post it on the OOC thread or this Interest Check (IC) thread. We can also have them PM it to either you, me or both and we can decide whether to accept them or not. It will be good to place an Accepted Characters Spot on the first post so that we can keep track on who is playing.

I see, i see. I feel like it would be easier to see who proclaims interest here and then have them PM me a character sheet? I can pass it on to you from there so they don't have to bother sending it to two separate people. Then both of us can make any decisions we need to after that. Check and balances.

Then I will definitely add an accepted characters hider to the main post.

I guess once we get maybe one or two other characters I can move it to an actual roleplay thread? You mentioned an OOC thread. How does that work?

The OOC thread is basically where we would have out of character talks. Just regular chat or questions about the RP would go there. You can have all the information you made on the OOC thread or In character role play, your choice.

And I like your ideas so let's run with that.

Got it. When I get home later today I plan to do a better character sheet for Chase according to the application, and I'll move her into the accepted characters hider. :-) maybe that'll get some people going.

If you have a basic understanding of what I wrote about the SL, I don't think it will be a problem. :)

I'm fairly, acutally I'm really interested in this. I like the idea, plus the game looked good (Never played it but read the OP twice, might take a gander into the wiki) when I went to almost buy it.

Don't worry about the fact I joined in the last 20~ or so minutes, I've been roleplaying for over 4 years now, starting off with these kinds of RPs and then going on to nation-building RP sites like NationStates and Statesmanship.

I do have one little gripe.

The military are wearing all blue, like they are riot or some kind of specialized police force. If it wouldn't mess anything up to much, instead why not have them wearing actual ACU/Multicam uniforms?

It's assumed that some would be wearing ACUs, most likely ones that aren't assigned solely to quarantine zones.

We also assume that since it's been 10 years since the outbreak, they are short on supplies. Therefore soldiers have raided any police stations they could find and have begun to use police riot gear because it was more easily attainable than military supplies.

There's also the matter of providing gear for troops that were recruited post-outbreak.

If you want your character to wear ACUs, I have no problem with that. :)

That was something I was thinking about.

With 10 years of constant fighting, gear would slowly, yet surely go to crap.

US troops would go from this, looking like they are dressed for a long 3 days somewhere in Afghanistan, to this, looking like they are prepping to fight Ivan in the Fulda Gap in West Germany. Heck, some might end up looking like this, digging in the jungles to fight Charlie.

Or some god-awful combination of the three.

Hehe. The picture is for reference. I don't have a problem with anyone modifying what they wear as long as they're not trying to sell me on some fancy gear that's 100% impossible to obtain.
