Quirk Description:
Seth’s Quirk creates black ooze that seeps from his pores and coats his body before hardening to create a makeshift suit of armor and weapons. (Think like how Alex Mercer from Prototype creates his weapons)
Quirk drawback and limits: As the name suggests the Corrupted Blood is composed of Seth’s own blood and therefore, he can’t create it for long periods of time without suffering Hypovolemic Shock. However, there is a second side effect to his Quirk: should he rely on his Quirk for too long, it will cause harm to his psyche and causes him to act like a wild animal.
Bio:
Seth’s family has always thought they were cursed. When Quirks first started appearing in the world, Seth’s family seemed to be skipped by the phenomenon and left Quirkless. However, when his great, great, great, great grandfather was born, something changed. According to family records: he stole a rare item from a strange woman at a carnival. The woman started chanting in a strange langue and claimed to curse not only him but any decedent of his. Stating: “While one suffers, another has to look on to your mistake.”
A week later his great, great, great, great grandfather developed a Quirk that was dubbed Corrupted Blood. He thought this was the curse the strange woman placed on him, but couldn’t see the downside of having actual superpowers. He married and had three children and surprisingly, none of the children had his Quirk. Three months later he went mad and attacked a local farmers market with his Quirk. The other superheroes at the time tried to reason with him but to no avail. They had no choice but to put him down. From then on his family felt they were cursed since every other generation had the Corrupted Blood.
Because of his Grandfather having the Quirk, Seth was born with the families curse. However, his Grandfather felt that this was simply a strange way of the quirk being passed down from generation to generation. Seth was four when his Quirk appeared. He was playing outside when a rabid dog wandered into their backyard and attacked him. His Quirk quickly seeped from his skin and coated his arms and hardened creating armor before the dog could bite down on to his flesh. His father and Grandfather quickly heard the commotion and came outside to aid him. They were able to drive the dog away before taking Seth to the hospital.
Miraculously, the rabies the dog was caring didn’t get into his bloodstream and at most all Seth had was a fear of dogs. His grandfather decided to wait until he was older to discuss Seth’s Quirk and simply told him at the time that it was his body reacting to the dog's attack. As Seth grew older, he slowly discovered how to control his Quirk and when Seth was 10. His grandfather sat him down to tell him their family’s story and the possible curse.
When Seth’s grandfather was done, Seth was both surprised and a little skeptical since his family saw this as a curse, but only a few of his family members went primal while having the Corrupted Blood. His Grandfather thought the same way since he never once felt the urge to lose control with his Quirk. However, that all changed when Seth was 12.
He and his grandfather were out during an antique festival. His grandfather that morning complained of a headache and not feeling right, but he took some medicine and decided to see what the day brought. As they looked at all the knick-knacks on display, his Grandfather seemed to be feeling better. He gave Seth money to grab some ice cream while he found a spot to sit. While Seth waited in line at the Ice cream stand he started hearing screams. He quickly ran towards where he left his grandfather and saw just how much the corrupted Blood was an actual curse.
He saw his grandfather’s corrupted blood had exploded out his body and coated his body, but instead of armor. The Corrupted Blood changed his appearance to look like a monster. His sweet, caring Grandfather was turned into the Demon that cursed his family. He attacked bystanders around him without remorse as blood stained the ground. Seth tried to reason and pleaded with his grandfather to stop, but he didn’t recognize Seth and lunged for him. However, before his grandfather could make contact. Two Pro heroes intercepted him while a third grabbed Seth and ordered him to leave. Seth then pleaded with the pro heroes to save his grandfather. They tried to bring his grandfather back from his insanity, but to no avail, Seth had to watch as they put down his grandfather like a wild animal. That was when he discovered the true curse of his Family’s Quirk and what the old woman meant by: “While one suffers, another has to look on to your mistake.”
A week after Seth watched his grandfather die; they held the funeral and Seth saw another part of the Corrupted Bloods curse. When the hose of the Quirk dies their blood acts as acid and burns their body away. They buried an empty casket during the funeral and Seth now feared what the corrupted blood would do to him down the road. However, one of the pro heroes that fought his Grandfather was there at the funeral and saw the concern of both Seth and his family's faces. He told them of UA and how it could help stop Seth from succumbing to the Corrupted Bloods side effect.
